  1. Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has lost one of the yachts in his sizeable personal fleet in a game of poker, a Russian newspaper reported on Monday. The popular daily Moskovsky Komsomelets said the oligarch lost the 500,000 dollar (375,000 euro) yacht while playing poker in Barcelona, which he was visiting to watch the London football team he owns, Chelsea, in action. The newspaper did not provide the name of the yacht or name the source of its information. Abramovich’s yacht collection, thought to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars, has been dubbed ‘The Roman Navy’ by Britain’s press. The Russian newspaper said his poker habit had become a sore point between him and girlfriend Daria Zhukova and that the billionaire, who made his fortune in Russia’s sell-off of state assets in the 1990s, had instead turned to gambling online.

  3. Barcelona have refuted reports that Thierry Henry is out of action for two weeks and stated that not only is he in the squad to face Chelsea, but he could play. The Frenchman was the subject of claims that the knock on his knee that he suffered during the Blaugrana's historic win against Real Madrid would sideline him for two weeks. Sport ran the story as their main lead, but have since been forced to retract it and replace the news with confirmation that Henry is travelling to London. Marca state that sources from within Barcelona have told them he is not out for two weeks and will be monitored ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge before undergoing a late fitness test. It is a sudden turnaround from the earlier statement, because while he was kept quiet in the first leg against Chelsea, Henry showed what he can do against Madrid three days later. After netting two goals in a superb display in the Bernabeu, Henry's absence would have been sorely felt by the Catalan outfit, and there was talk that Andres Iniesta would move up to the left side of attack. Allied with an injury to Rafa Marquez and the suspension of Carles Puyol, coach Pep Guardiola would have had to shuffle his squad even more if Henry had certainly been out.

  9. According to Omroep Gelderland, German outfit Borussia Dortmund are closely monitoring the situation of talented youngster Ben Sahar. The Chelsea striker is currently on loan at De Graafschap. The 20-year-old appears to be surplus to requirements at Chelsea and is expected to leave the London outfit on a permanent basis in the upcoming transfer window. Sahar was already being linked with Dutch sides Ajax, NEC and Vitesse before, but Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are now reportedly sitting in pole position to secure the Israeli international's services. Dortmund have been in the market for a new striker ever since the departure of Argentinean attacker Diego Klimowicz to Bochum last winter. They're also being linked with Colo Colo hit-man Lucas Barrios. Sahar's current Chelsea deal expires in 2011, but several reports have suggested that the English side are ready to cash in on the player this summer.
  10. Valencia ace David Villa is open to a move to Chelsea. Chelsea made an official approach for Villa earlier this month and Villa has refused to rule out a deal, says guillembalague.com. Indeed, key members of the Chelsea squad have been in touch with Villa in order to try and persuade him to join them.

  12. QUOTE SPURS boss Harry Redknapp plans a £2million swoop for Chelsea teenager Jack Cork. The 19-year-old has failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge and is on loan at Watford. Cork, the son of former Wimbledon striker Alan, can play anywhere across the back four and in a defensive midfield role. He enjoyed a spell on loan at Bournemouth under Kevin Bond, who is now No 2 at White Hart Lane.
