Argentine newspaper Ole on Friday have a feature on Jonathan Calleri and the rumours, and reports, that he's set to become a Chelsea player. Ole do little to pour scorn on the idea that a deal could be in the making, and in fact point out that Calleri has gone from insisting he wasn't leaving Boca Juniors to saying he wouldn't be disappointed if he had to stay - with Ole thinking there's a sign in there. Ole explain that Jose Mourinho wants to sign the player during the January transfer window, a move which would prevent Calleri from taking part in the Copa Libertadores, with Boca Juniors having won the Argentine championship. Mourinho is said to want Calleri in England quickly not so he can play for Chelsea, but so he can gain Premier League experience elsewhere. Stoke City are put forward as a possible destination and that would certainly be an interesting move. Mark Hughes and Stoke have been credited with interest previously but it's one thing wanting to sign the 22 year old permanently and quite another wanting a loan of him from Chelsea. The Calleri rumour has become so widespread in such a short time in Argentina that there's either some truth there or someone actively pushing it. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/chelsea-to-buy-star-then-loan-him-to-stoke-argentine-newspaper-ha
