Very overrated player by people who didn't watch him consistently last season! Very unimpressive at Madrid hence why they are replacing him with another over hyped player in James who will probably end up like Isco and get replaced by Reus next summer who is at least the real deal. Isco, Oscar and James are 3 young talented players all inconsistent as you would expect from players their age, but out the 3 I definitely think we have the best player and the one who will become a truly world class player.

Of course they will play, no one is match fit in pre season, the whole point of it is to get fit before the start of the season, only way they will is by playing games, they will all feature on Wednesday.

I would like to see this team start. Schwarzer Azpilicueta - Cahill - Zouma - Luis Romeu - Matic Salah - Fabregas - Boga Costa

Huge season defining game i'd start this team Schwarzer Kane - Ivanovic - Zouma - Van Aanholt Van Ginkel - Matic Salah - Mceachran - Piazon Bamford Then Blackman, Christensen, Ake, Bertrand, Marin, Baker, Swift, Feruz, Ba, Chalobah, Romeu to play the 2nd half

I disagree, if your the best man for the job it doesn't matter how long you have been at club. if next summer Terry, Cech and Ivanovic leaves which is quite likely and we sign Thiago Silva or Kompany for example are you saying you wouldn't want either of them to be captain because they haven't been at the club long enough?

no it shouldn't. You pick a captain based on their character and leadership qualities and how respected they are by their fellow teammates, and of course to be captain at a team like Chelsea you have to be a world class player.

I said in the Cahill thread, that this world cup has once again shown that Cahill simply isn't a leader, I would say if Terry leaves at the end of next season and Ivanovic is struggling to play regularly then Courtois or Fabregas possibly Matic will be captain for the 15/16 season. Also in maybe 4 or 5 years years if Zouma becomes word class he could become a future captain for Chelsea and France.

I think this World Cup has shown something i have said for a long time, that Cahill simply isn't a leader. I am very very sure he will never be a future Chelsea Captain, Quality defender but just isn't captain material.

err no i am not! Oscar's crossing for Brazil didn't even come into my mind when typing that. and Hazard's crossing is very inconsistent... I also like Oscar in the middle but he is more versatile then Fabregas and Kroos, so of course Oscar would play on the right, with Willian rotating with Oscar and Fabregas.

I disagree! Oscar can be very effective on the wing, he is probably the best crosser in the team and he doesnt stay on the wing as he drifts inside a lot. Oscar would be a guaranteed starter for me.

Surely if we line up like this next season we would have to become a team who dominate possession against the top teams! Cech Azpilicueta - Cahill - Terry - F.Luis Kroos - Matic Oscar - Fabregas - Hazard Costa players like Kroos, Fabregas and Matic are just not the type of players who can counter attack effectively.

If we sign Kroos i am pretty sure Oscar would be moved back the right and Willian would rotate with both Fabregas and Oscar.

The point i was making is we only need 1 DM (Matic) v the smaller teams and Ramires - Matic pivot against the top teams.

Diego Costa sorts that problem out for us though. We created more then enough chances to win almost every game we dropped points in! Plus with Fabregas coming in that is more then enough to beat those bottom teams.A world class goal scorer and more creativity from deep is all we need. Costa and Fabregas will give us that.

I never once said they are the same. I have watched both play for years so I don't need you to explain how both play. The point I was making is having both in our team would mean we would have to change our system to get the best out of them! We wouldn't be able to play effective counter attacking football with such a lack of pace! Plus Mourinho plays Oscar behind the striker for a reason because he offers more defensively, something Fabregas wouldn't offer. Mourinho has used a counter attacking system his whole career and signing both Fabregas and Modric while getting rid of someone and dropping someone else who fit that system perfectly in Ramires and Oscar is just ridiculous.

That's not how it works though! It's the same with Arsenal and Fabregas, Arsenal just don't need him right now, and after we sign Cesc we won't need Modric, and with Fabregas here I would much rather have Ramires then Modric as that would give more balance to the team and suits our system better.

A few years ago Modric would have been perfect, but right now with Cesc coming in and with our system I would rather keep Ramires. Swapping Rami for Modric would make no sense at this point, it would mean all the work Jose done last season, implementing his Counter attacking system would have been for nothing as having Modric, Matic and Fabregas would mean we would have to start trying to play like Barca again, which wouldn't make sense for Mourinho to do.

I hear today Chelsea will announce that Costa has signed and that a fee has been agreed for Fabregas.

How many people say this year after year! i bet in 20 years time when were on the verge of signing Thiago Messi, Chelsea fans will still be saying 'I wont believe it until its official after the Robinho saga back in 08'

Arsenal fans are so delusional! some think the only reason Jose wants Fabregas is so that he can get one over on Wenger!
