Neither do i just look at stats, i look at performances and Coutinho last season was very inconsistent, and went missing in most games he played in. Jordan henderson managed to get 9 assists in the sunday league standard Liverpool team like you make them out to be, so trying to use Sturridge's absense and him playing with Balotelli as excuses is pretty ridiculous. And to use him getting in the TOTY a part of your argument is pretty weak, Coutinho in that team was what the football world laughed at, no one could understand how he got in the TOTY, and i personally never take the PFA TOTY seriousy after 09/10 when Lampard scored 22 goals and got 14 assists in 36 games and didnt even get in the TOTY, that sums up how credible the TOTY is, and also the fact that Azpi has been overlooked 2 seasons in a row. what do you mean once again i look at stats? please show me what stats i used regarding Sterling? he has not looked great so far at City, their passing game doesnt suit him at all, Kolarov's form has really helped him, but overall he has been far from impressive so far. where have i come across hypocritcal? i dont remember ignoring Costa's form for Spain at all, i dont just look at stats, and Costa's general play for Spain has been decent, they dont play to his strengths so he adapts his game with them and does a good job occupying the opposition CB's dropping off and getting involved in their passing game, as well as making some brilliant runs, even though they rarely play through balls to him. As for Coutinho he gets played in the same role for Brazil as he does for Liverpool, so he has no excuse of the team not playing to his strenghts, he simply looks out of his depth with better players around him. The excuses you make for Coutinho really do sum up how overrated he is.

no worries with asmir, top keeper, its his chance to shine.

Coutinho in the second half of last season got 4 goals and 3 assists in 19 games, with one stand out performance against Man City, if you class that as being fantastic then you must have some very low standards. And its yet another weak excuse to talk about his team-mates you mention Lambert but he barely even played, Vardy got 10 assists last season and he plays with worse players then Coutinho, Jordan Henderson plays for the same team as Coutinho and got 9 assists! 4 more then Coutinho managed. What is your next excuse going to be Coutinho just didn't feel like getting more assists then a player who plays deeper then he does? or he just wanted to give Henderson some confidence by letting him get more assists then him? And as for Sterling that is a awful example, firstly he hasn't even looked very good at City so far, and the main reason why he got that move is because he is English! so you are now saying Coutinho would look better with better players around him so explain why he looks out of his depth when he plays for Brazil? the excuses you are making for him are on par with the ones people used to make for Torres, comical.
-
And Coutinho is even more inconsistent then Oscar. Enough said.
-
It will be so funny if Stones decides to jump over the ball again to let it go in.
-
being a level below Oscar doesn't mean you are no good. don't put words in peoples mouths. just an idea.

what has being a one man team got to do with it?
-
well they both play for the same national team, and being at a bigger club is a horrible excuse, people at smaller clubs then Liverpool have achieved more then Coutinho like Koke, Vitolo, Bacca, Hamsik and Reus to name a few. The excuses for Coutinho are getting more and more pathetic, and Coutinho simply isn't good enough to play for any of the big clubs. He is a Europa League standard player.
-
Who has achieved more at domestic club level? Oscar who has achieved more in Europe? Oscar Who has achieved more on the International stage? Oscar but both are apparently on the same level.
-
Since Xmas he has 10 goals and 4 assists in 20 games including his goal in the league cup final. In a team that has been in poor form since Xmas, Yes clearly the form of a player who isnt even one of the top 2 strikers at Chelsea.
-
you are probably one of the very few people on the planet who thinks saying Costa is the 2nd best striker on the planet, is ridiculously outrageous, saying something like Ivanovic is better then Cafu in his prime is ridiculously outrageous, saying that you think a world class striker is the 2nd best on the planet clearly isnt. tell me how many strikers have had a better last 2 seasons then Costa? in fact lets see if your even capable of giving some valid reasons as to why its ridiculously outrageous to say Costa is the 2nd best striker in the world.
-
stop taking everything so literal, they had not built up any kind of rhythm neither did the rest of the team as we had a pretty poor pre-season, now with the international break it gives everyone a chance to start over and get it right this time, hence why they will feel motivated to really get going this time.
-
no they weren't though they was still getting back into the swing of things like the rest of the team, I think having this time away on international duty will have done them good and they will be ready and motivated to perform on Saturday.
-
He certainly isn't a striker.
-
yes but form is temporary they are not going to be out of form forever, both are in good conditions now to come back and hit top form again.
-
that's your opinion, for me I cant see how anyone can even make a decent argument for Benzema, Lewandowski and Ibra being better Costa's last 2 seasons have been simply stunning. 36 goals for Atletico in 2013/14 while guiding them to the La Liga title against the big 2 and if he was fully fit for the CL final, then I think Atletico would have definitely won that also. Then last season he comes to a new league in a new country where he can't even speak English and settles straight away, scoring goals for fun on the way to the PL title, had he not had the injury problems he probably would have won the Golden boot also. Lewandowski is the best with his back to goal and his link up play is excellent but he isn't clinical enough and plays in a weak league, Ibra is old now and really has never shone in the CL, and also plays in a weak league, Benzema also isn't a clinical finisher, and doesn't lead the line very well, Aguero has never had a season as good as Costa's in 13/14, and Costa is a more complete striker then Aguero, both are good finishers, but Man City always try to get Aguero to be the one finishing off their attacks, there style really benefits Aguero, we are not as reliant on Costa, who I feel has more to his game and leads the line a lot better.
-
So you can't back up the stupid comment you made, what else is new.
-
Top 5 Strikers in the world. 1. Suarez 2. Costa 3. Lewandowski 4. Aguero 5. Ibrahimovic your football knowledge is simply shocking if you think Costa isn't top 5
-
He is the 2nd best striker on the planet behind Suarez and what drama and baggage? he never gets red cards, other then the 'stamp' which I dont think was even deliberate I don't see the problem. The guy is a world class striker, and I am so happy he plays for us.
-
why is there a Ramsey v Wilshere debate in the Hazard thread? both Ramsey and Wilshere are dog poo so who cares who is better. Back to Hazard, I think the Everton game on Saturday will be where he explodes back into form, I enjoy watching Hazard v Coleman, I think Hazard will give Seamus nightmares on Saturday.
-
I have no doubt they will cause us problems but I think we will cause them many more problems
-
what makes you think we will create little or nothing? I think it will be like last season, and become a very open game, Everton will not fear us and try to attack us, and leave the likes of Hazard, Costa and Pedro to run riot. I think we will win 4-1 or 4-2
-
LOOL now its impossible for us to beat Everton! only on this forum you can see such comments!
-
Lol Liverpool fans think he is the best player in the league! probably the worst example you could get! I would rather read what journalist have to say, the people who praise him when he is good and criticize him when he isn't. unlike Liverpool fans who just praise him 24/7. Daily Mail - 6/10 - Went closest for Liverpool with a crisp shot from outside the box that smacked the post. But failed to dazzle like he can. Telegraph - 6/10 Goal.com - 3/5 - a surprise starter in truth but really could not influence the match in any way. Mirror - 5/10 - Guilty of trying too hard, lost good possession too often. ITV - 6/10 - looked bright to start with before fading as Real took over. Hit the post with a fine effort at the end of the first half before being substituted in the second. one of Liverpool's better players on the night. Independent - 5/10 they all can't be wrong can they? I bet even Coutinho would say he wasn't great in that game, you are sounding like a Coutinho fanboy really.
