The Chelsea-Vitesse Thread
We Hate Scouse replied to We Hate Scouse's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I don't see how it affects us. We're clearly his main project. Vitesse possibly to help us and his roles in Russia are giving something back to his country. He's still spending money on us and constantly trying to improve us so I don't see any reason to worry. -

If Abramovich has got his fingers in Vitesse then it's a very good move. As long as he doesn't get caught. It is the perfect place to harbor youth that cannot get work permits here and we can also send plays on loan there as we are. -
The Chelsea-Vitesse Thread

There's no way Jordania can be funding what is going on at Vitesse. Someone else has to be doing it. The only reasons that I can think of them not wanting to do it themselves is because 1. They can't. They wouldn't be considered a fit and proper owner so they have got someone else to do it or they already own a club 2. The person doing it does not want to be known. Another potential culprit could be friend of Roman, Shalva Chigirinsky. Chigirinsky is camera shy so it would explain that. He may also not pass the guidelines for a fit and proper person as he is also a very shady character. The whole relationship seems incredibly dodgy. Jordania said last September "Ultimately, Roman Abramovich has helped us. We are Vitesse and we decide who we want, but it is true Chelsea is an important connection in our transfer policy" Make of that what you will............ -

Yeah really bugs me as well. When searching click on the advance search button. Where it says "Match" change the 2nd drop down box to "Only search in titles". When you do this with "English football thread" it's the only one that comes up. Hope this helps

Same, I expect an easy 1-0 win. I don't know why people are expecting a thrashing. The players won't be putting 100% effort in.

The Chelsea-Vitesse Thread

Yes. Although the records don't show as much as Jordania's crimes. It's more allegations. Have a read through this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Abramovich#Controversies -
I think it will be more the begin of Sturridge. He will be our back up sticker, meaning he will get games in his favoured position.

Considering Chelsea and Vitesse have a clear unofficial link I thought it would be ideal to start a thread on the relationship. We can discuss our players that are on loans there and the progress that Vitesse are making. The link appears to come from Abramovich's and Jordania (Vitesse owner) personal relationship. They were introduced through another Russian billionaire and Jordania has said that he speaks to Abramovich on a weekly basis and often goes to Chelsea games with him. Jordania appears to be very shady though and this could be the reason why no official link will be made. He was once president of the Georgian Football Federation, but following allegations of corruption he was sacked. He has been to prison twice. Once for tax evasion and the other for embezzlement. Many questions have been asked as to where Jordania has acquired such money to invest. He owns a business that arrange the transfer of Georgian players to foreign countries and arranging TV contracts. It is considered to be a small business with little profit. Certainly not enough to run a football club. It is thought that Jordania is receiving funds from an outside investor, using the club as a project. The obvious person that the media suspect is Abramovich. It is thought that Chelsea have 1st dibs or ownership of some of Vitesse's younger players. These include: Giorgi Chanturia - 19 year old Georgian winger who signed from Barcelona Alex and Anderson Santos - 20 year old, twin brothers. Very much like Fabio and Rafael of Man Utd. One plays left back the other right back. Valeri Kazaishvilli - Another 19 year old Georgian winger. Renato Iberra - 21 year old, promising winger We currently have two players on loan there: Patrick Van Aanholt - Started shaky and was not always in the first team, but he started to find his feet at the end of last season. Tomas Kalas - One of Vitesse better players last season. Looks very promising and comfortable. Vitesse managed to qualify for the Euorpa League last season. They entered in the second qualifying round and beat Lokomotiv Plovdiv 7-5 on aggregate. Although there next game is against the new kids on the block. Russian billionaires FC Anzhi Makhachkala. Guus Hiddink is currently the manager and top players include; Chris Samba; Samuel Eto'o; and Yuri Zhirkov. The first leg is to be played on Thursday with the second a week later. I'll try update this thread as much as I can.

So we should risk injury and add to our 60+ games we will play this season for a friendly? Don't be so ridiculous. The powers gone to Di Matteos head? Embarrassing. Living in Tottenhams gone to your head. Sex on the beach?

When have the fans ever selected the team? When has pre-season ever been about winning? Seriously, some people...
