Yeah i would take that. I wouldn't mind not getting Hulk and we will just have Ozil instead. I hear he has some skills.
-
England is better than Australia at Cricket.
-
4-2-3-1 is solid which is what we want, difference being instead of a front 4 of Mata, Ramires, Kalou and generally in the premierleague Torres, it will/could be Mata Hazard Hulk and Torres. Which is much better attack. Also when you consider against weaker teams, we will probably have ramires in the midfield aswell. You cant always blame the tactics. Would you rather play a 4-4-2 and hav players where they dont like. Mata would be less effective and Hazard wouldn't be as far up the field as we would want him to be. I hope we do play 4-2-3-1, as if puts players where they want to play in the most part.
-
He is better than kalou and i would have played him over kalou. Obviously he wouldn't be near Ramires, though it was very rare we played Ramires at RW as for most of the season he was in a more central position.
-
No we can't. and why would we want to? If gives us nothing extra except a lack of scoring options. We really want to be relying on Hazard and Mata to supply all the goals i don't. 4-2-3-1 gotta be the way to go, makes the most of everything we have in the team. No-one here has mentioned us playing a 4-6-0 formation and all of a sudden spain play it and we should be doing it.
-
And on the sturridge front i think people are being too harsh. Simply put he started off as a starter and looked to be excelling at chelsea then his appearances started to tail off and other players were put in front of them. This means that he probably has an extra desire to prove himself every time he gets a chance on the pitch so is trying to hard and trying to do the spectacular. I agree with people that he has been too greedy but that doesn't mean he should be written off or sold. There will be plenty of teams who would love to have him and it would be ashame to see him go elsewhere and do really well. Especially when its happenned before with other youth that we have let go.
-
Your not talking about a 4-6-0 formation your simply talking about occasions when the striker has dropped back. Dzeko wouldn't count as being in a 4-6-0 formation as he is an out and out striker and a target man. Man city have never played a 4-6-0 formation.

I guarentee you that won't work for us, as our supply line will end up being our main attack line and i would rather depend on out and out strikers scoring the goals than depending on everyone else in behind. It would be pretty stupid in my opinion with the players we have to do that. Also its easy to play that way when your team has messi, iniesta and xavi like barcelona. People also forget that spain tried that system against Italy in the first game of the tournment and it was pretty ineffective. Torres played vs Rep of Irelan, and then they tried the 4-6-0 vs croatia and it again was unimpressive with a last minute winner, and modric who played it apart at times despite thier 6 men in midfield/attack. Yes they played it amazingly in the first half of the game vs italy, but i am sure all systems have worked at times. The system would also mean that mata would probably play the false 9 as you call it which isn't where mata is most effective, as he is better used in a place where he can dictate the action and set up the man more advanced. Also the wings would be fairly ineffective as when the ball got there we would have to cut inside and pass it through as there would be no crosses as we would have no ariel threat, except from corners when the big men came up. Also Spain and barcelona play a high line with pacy defenders to make the system work, which we know from being under AVB isn't good for us. For me anyway, i would hate to see that system. We are not barcelona and we shouldn't try to play like them. Let arsenal do that and they can win Fuck all.

ROFL. SHOWS MY GEOGRAPHY KNOWLEDGE. Its all round there somewhere.
-
4-2-3-1, and i think we should dominate posession against most teams in the prem with the exceptions being City and possibly united dependant on their midfield.
-
Thats wxactly what i was going to post. They may line up that way but if we have a solid 2 in behind then they will have the freedom to roam and switch places. As we saw with the recent belgium game vs England Hazard was on the left on the right down the middle, coming deep. Just the type of player we need. Cant wait to see him in pre-season and really cant wait for the start of the season.

I don't think there is a person on this forum who wouldn't be happy with just winning the champions league next year. But the reason its so hard to win is because winning the champions league so hard, its not particularly the comptetion itself.
-
Yeah if the clubs in other continents improve then i can see in 20 years it becoming much more prestigious, but at the moment there are teams like Monterry, and Aukland City FC (no disrespect to many of our australians here) but its not exactly Man city or United.
-
The liverpool argument works, but still, i think the FA cup is a much bigger honour of achievment than the club world cup. As you already have the champions league which is the greaest achievment. The FA CUP is harder to win than the club world cup, as the best teams arn't in the club world cup.
-
I won't. ARSENAL GONNA GET RELAGATED, NA NANANANA, ARSENAL GONNA GET RELAGATED NA NE NANY NANY.
-
Would you rather have the club world cup or FA cup? For me i would rather have FA cup as in its not even close.
-
i completely disagree. We dont need 2-3 players to reach top 4 level. We are top 4 level. We were pretty bad in the early part of the season and we were still only 5 points behind.
-
ok fair enough... your reasoning cannot be faulted.
-
TBH who cares that much about the european super cup and club world cup. Ofc a trophy is a trophy, and ideally we would win everything. But i would swap all those 3 for an fa cup. Or even the carling cup.

Sam Walker went to my school...

I see it more as top 3 as we are. Put Hulk in there, and we have a pure attacking 4, which if it gels together (Torres remembers where the goal is) could be pretty much the best attacking lineup in the prem (Man city being the one who could possibly better it), and we have always been pretty good defensively, and the fact that our attacking 4 would be that good would make it easier on the two sitting behind making us better defensively. So for me the addition of Hulk would see us in the top 3 and if torres can get us 20 or so goals in the season then we would be very great title contenders. Obviously a Regista would be extremely useful though its not like we have no-one who could work there, Lampard for example.
-
Thats cos united are cheating bastards... I think we will finish ahead of united this season.
-
No way will we do the 4-6-0 thing. A. it wont work in the premier league, and B, we we dont really have the players for it. And IMO its an awful system.
-
Hazard is unproven in the prem though he is a great talent which will definately be an upgrade on anyone else we would play in that position, as well as ensuring that Mata can play in his preferred position if di'matteo decides to play them that way. I don't think we are that far away. Definately top 4 if not challenging for the title. I prefer our squad over united's every day of the week.
-
Oh well could have been worse they could have sold him to united.
