I don't think we had no fight. I think our players were young and naive. We weren't clinical and made too many mistakes defensively and obviously the keeper issues. But this year will be different. Our best XI has completely changed, and you're right when you say we should be rolling over West Brom without a sweat if we want to be challenging for anything. I don't think we will win the league this year. Everyone needs time to adjust to get fully going but we will be a lot better and we will close the gap.

Well that was pretty much my point when I said that there is no point rushing them back for West Brom. But I don't like jinxing things. Last season was a great season in my opinion so definitely hasn't taken my confidence away at all. And I'm on the optimistic side of TC so it did then we are really fucked. Kind of expected. No point rushing them back for West Brom. A similar team to the Barnsley team with kante and reece added back in should hopefully do the job. Mendy was gonna be too quick of a turn around to just chuck him in. Yes he's a goalkeeper but he needs some time to have a rapport with his defenders Last thing we want is rushing any of these players back to help us beat West Brom and cause longer term issues. Far as I'm concerned take their time. Make sure they are fully ready. My only concern would be they just get fit and then have to go play internationals. As I can imagine for Morocco especially in their game they will be desperate to play him. I don't even know if the USA have any games. But if they don't then that could be ideal.

That's all true but luckily this year its just a backup role and some rotation we need them for. I'd rather keep alonso if I had to pick just 1 as he offers something different and we know he can be effective if we play 3 at the back.

There's always pressure on all the players. But I think it's better for him. I literally clap when we save standard shots at the moment. If he does that then he's better than what we have. Kepa was the guy who replaced Cech and tibo for a massive price tag, so he got compared to them instantly and he was nowhere near. Mendy is gonna get compared to kepa. Bars way lower.

Don't get me wrong other than the fact he's arsenal manager I have nothing against the guy and he may be a good manager having been through the pep school. But from what I have seen of arsenal they look a threat with auba, lack any midfield quality and are still somewhat shaky defensively. But thats pretty much the same as before. They've always been a threat in attack but their midfield was never good enough to dictate games and auba had to do a lot himself.

Arteta is getting super overrated because that one game. This whole narrative has come out of that fa cup final. If Pully doesn't get injured and we win that then they don't win that or the community shield and its just 8th place arsenal rather than this amazing arsenal everyone in the media goes on about. They were by far the worst team vs West ham on Saturday

Willy is a decent enough number 2 as he proved yesterday. The issue comes if he has to play long periods but to step in for a game or 2 it's not crazy. If we really need goalkeeper help them just chuck one of the loan army in and give them a go

Definitely need Kante in there I think. And I doubt azpi starts at left back if he didn't play him vs pool. Especially in a game where we should be the aggressor. It'll be a left footer probably. Maybe chillwell if he's deemed ready. But mount havertz Werner Abraham looks like a great front 4 for West Brom

Bit early to say he's overhyped. I don't particularly rate rice from what I've seen at West ham especially at that price tag. But not sure you can say Chilly B is overhyped just yet. Its not as easy as just saying we should go get zakaria or partey. They may not want to come here. Clubs may not be willing to sell etc. I would rather we didn't pay stupid amounts for rice especially this window tbh though even if it means going with what we have and banking on no injury to kante. Reece james defensive mid backup?

I'd guess willy starts still just as the game is 2 days away. But very happy to have him. If we need a goal last 5 mins we can chuck him up top.

Villa loan would be decent. Playing with jack grealish may not be a bad thing and villa whilst aren't a great team may be a better fit for him than if he went to a less attacking (but maybe better) team

I thought he was gone. Out the door completely. But he played pretty well today all over the pitch so who knows. I can't see us keeping 3 left backs though. But maybe he's now a right winger

Great goal. Teams done well. We've let them have too many shots for certain. But they haven't had too many great chances. Maybe we are a bit more nervy about long range contested shots due to our record against them. But let's take the positives and enjoy a good attacking performance and scoring some goals
