  1. We were expected to finish 6th or worse came 4th got to a final (lost unfortunately). Have now brought in a lot of players we are all super pumped about (in part thanks to frank), and are working to get better. We are 2 games into the new season. Everyone needs t be patient and chill the fuck out. Jesus christ.
  2. Mate. Sometimes this place is worse than twitter. I think the laugh i get from some of it is what keeps me around. R2D2 spouts so much shite it is hilarious. Lampard to blame for kepa as well apparently. Also Rudiger chatted to them he didn't do much to get them to come lets not overstate it. How about the fact they all credited FRANK FUCKING LAMPARD as a big reason why they joined. Jesus christ. If you hate FL that much you aint a chelsea fan. Fact.
  3. That's what i said. Which is why i don't think he will play because i think he's off. If Chillwell is fit i reckon he gets 60 mins.
  4. I think the plan was that giroud would get sold in January as he didn't fit the style of play we wanted to and want to play as we can see going forwards and then that sort of changed in January through necessity and then giroud when he came in was great for us. So I don't know. I imagine it's something Frank would have done differently if he could do it again and I think he was clinging to a hope that batshuayi or Abraham would grab the job and make them undroppable which tammy sort of did before he got injured when he was scoring regular but never did in the second half of the season. But he's not perfect and has made mistakes as all managers have and can only play 11. I don't think it's a case that only a few players give a lot of effort at training. I'm sure 95 percent do so it's probably not as black and white as it may appear. But in reference to what was talked about previously. If you're good enough you'll play I'm talking about the top top quality players. I. E. Hazard, kante etc. To some extent pulisic once he was firing as there was a big period of time everyone was worried that he wouldn't got played. He came in did really well and then only got taken out when he was injured. I don't think we had many players last season who were that good that training didn't matter as they were all somewhat fringe players or young players with something to prove which is why the "performances in training" gets thrown around. I'm sure Timo Werner, kante etc are beasts in training but it's not like he'd have a bad couple of training sessions and be dropped. If someone like CHO, or jorgi or mount or christensen weren't giving it 100 percent then I could see them getting left out.
  5. I think Emerson is gonna be going. No way we keep 3 left backs so I doubt he'd get the start if thst is the case. Maybe though. I think Havertz needs some game time. I'd be a bit concerned if he's not fully up to fitness he may just get a kicking from the Barnsley midfielders but this could be a great game for confidence and fitness of some players.
  6. Comparing any player we have to hazard is laughable though. He was arguably a top 5 player in the world with us. Things don't have to be so literal. Like yeah Frank likes hard work but he's not a complete idiot. If you're good enough you'll still play like any walk of life. Now if you're a fringe player you need to be working your arse off every day to get your opportunity and show your worth. If hazard was here he'd play all the time even if he laid down for 4 hours during every training session
  7. We have 5 Centre backs and he's probably the worst one. Can't keep them all.
  8. CHO has all the natural god given talent you could want to see in a 19 year old kid for sure. But we can't say we've seen it be used effectively for anything other than a few game spell particularly in the Europa league run before he got injured. I hope his attitude is right we keep him and he becomes a super star. Step 1 is put a good performance today and make it extremely hard for him not to get chosen for West Brom.
  9. It'd be good to see havertz in the no 8 today.
  10. Of course. That is football. But more people will be fit more people will be available than game week 2 with no preseason. Less passengers and more players back as we go through the games, training sessions etc. Also the fitness demands playing against Liverpool compared to a team like Burnley or West Brom is a lot different. Does anyone truly believe that we are gonna play that defensive going forwards? The system, players and (hopefully) performance will be completely different if you compare the first 2 games to 4 weeks time.
  11. Come on. This is TC. Every single thing is magnified to another degree. If we played more open and got smashed there would have been people going "Tactically naive against a good team with lots of players out bla bla bla" Of course we can strike a balance. But the situations I have already mentioned made it a reasonable tactic despite it being shite to watch.
  12. Eh? Are you seriously comparing Liverpool to Barnsley and West Brom etc. What are you on about lol. Also every game we play we get more players available and better fitness levels. So comparing Liverpool in game 2 to Southampton in game 7 or whatever it'll be by then is even more ludicrous
  13. I wasn't saying you hated mount just several of the shite you read on twitter and areas of this forum would lead someone to having that assumption. I do agree with the majority of what you say there. I don't think our views are too dissimilar. I would like to see him get more of a run in the team where possible. But I don't believe any tin foil hat theories of lampard having a vendetta against the guy or anything like that and making it sound like he's left out a prime hazard or something. But going forwards, especially against weaker opposition such as Barnsley and West Brom (assuming Pully and ziyech are still out) would be great games for CHO to play. Whether he will or not time will tell.
  14. Apparently this is getting livestreamed on the carabao cup website for 10 quid. If it was good quality it would be worth considering but these things generally are as laggy as a stream so that may be the better option
  15. Everyone is reading way too much in our second game of the season without 5 players who will most likely be starters. You may say the players were the same as last year but the fitness levels definitely weren't. The only thing we can take from it is that we played pretty well defensively and some pretty good performances in tough circumstances from the likes of kante and Werner James and a good cameo from tomori when he came on. Its obvious that's not gonna be our game plan long term and it will be a completely different team when we next played Liverpool. The game plan was to keep it tight and see if we could nick something at the end and we will never know how that could have worked out. Everyone on here would be going nuts (common theme there) if we went super attacking and lost 4-1.
  16. That's not close to being true though is it. As I have said numerous times. I would have played CHO vs Brighton. But I don't get why it's seen as outrageous he hasn't started as if he has shown he has been quality in the last 18 months when given the chances. He hasn't. Mount is better at a lot of aspects. The game plan vs Liverpool doesn't make it outrageous with that selection. CHO will hopefully stay and get his chances and I hope he takes them. But I love how everyone is just writing off effort levels as if it means nothing. If every player had mounts effort we would have won a lot more games last year. But it is getting mega boring having to defend 21 year old Mason mount vs the hate he's getting from some small portion of Chelsea fans.
  17. But you agreed he was one of our best players last season as a 20/21 year old. Again way too early to say anything about ceiling based on talent and physical attributes. If he was 25 then maybe you'd have a point . If everyone's fit I wouldn't start mount in our current best XI. But to go say that after 3 games we should sell mount as he has hit his ceiling and lacks the talent etc etc I think is ridiculous. But we'll see. I'm not gonna keep arguing this point as its boring to argue.
  18. If everyone was fit and he wasn't in the short term plans I'd love to see him get a prem loan and get a lot of minutes to see what he can do with a long spell in the team. From what we have seen of him over the last few years he has struggled to make an impact with 20/30 mins here and there and the odd cup game. And with the signings I don't think we will have the time to give him that. Bit like Ruben. He needs a lot of minutes to see where he is at and if he can get back to where he is and he probably isn't gonna get it.
  19. Frank loves players who give a shit ton of effort. We don't see training every day. Maybe CHO doesn't give that. He's also like 19, he'll get his chances if he wants to stay.
  20. You definitely have a contract stating you have to mention mount in any comment regardless of the thread. [emoji23]
  21. Don't have to big them up at all, but don't have to write players off after 3 games. I'm not sure why he is getting singled out by the other guy in every single thread as if he's at fault for the losses. Again. He's 21 he ain't even close to his peak so how you can say any of that about his ceiling is mental. He's not terrible wide. And who are these much better options we have wide? Callum is the only option we have. And we've all watched him not take any of his chances the last 2 years. So saying he is a much better option wide against a team like Liverpool when we were gonna have to do a lot of defending is mental. The way we set up to play the game mount was the better option. Vs Brighton I would have played CHO personally. But it wasn't a crazy alternative. How anyone can say mount staying and being a squad player the rest of his career is amazing given his age. Especially when you just said he was one of our best players last year. By that logic, havertz has been one of our worse players in 135 mins of football this season so we should sell him as well.
  22. Well yeah we knew that was coming. It's the problem with a lot of our fan base and the reason we get called plastics. Because as soon as one kid has a bad game (apparently?) everyone wants to sell them and buy "insert player here who had a great game recently" Nothing wrong with buying players to get better and improve the squad like we've done, we don't wanna be a team of just home grown talent. We are here to win things. But the expectation that anyone who is a work in progress should just be ousted is a joke. Especially someone who has come through our academy was a general consensus top 5 player (higher in my opinion) last season and is only 21.
  23. He didn't play there vs Brighton. You 2 really hate mount lol. 3 games is all the judgement you need? So we should get rid of havertz as well then if we are basing it off of 3 games. Selling mount who is only 21 by the way when we have so many players who we can't currently off load would be a mental decision. Where can we get 50 mil for him. Are we just making figures up now. Why don't we base things off last season. He was easily one of our best players. But the cool thing must be hating on our 21 year old youth products.
  24. I'm starting to feel bad for the guy to be honest. He hasn't got what it takes, everyone including him should know this. Confidence is at an all time low. And you have "fans" on twitter personally abusing the guy. He isn't good enough and we've all called him a shit keeper at some point or another but that's a step too far. He didn't choose his price tag and I don't think he lacks effort. He's just mentally gone. I hope for the kids sake he can get some sort of loan and rebuild his confidence without the spotlight being on him non stop. But realistically I don't think that will be the case at least not this year but hopefully mendy coming in can improve us no. 1 which I'm sure it will and 2. Take some heat of kepa.
  25. He meant it more that he thought the league was full of stokes and he wants to play better football than get it and lump it up to Peter crouch. Not that he can't deal with it. He came across well in his interview, assuming the translator wasn't bullshitting us lol
