  1. Sergio Ramos is one of the most overrated players in football. He's good going forward, but he's way too aggressive and isn't all that great defensively. He's not a bad defender or anything, but nowhere near one of the best in the world.
  2. They are so much better with Vidic at the back but he just played a few days ago and he's still recovering from injury so can't play with that fast a turnaround.
  3. Fun game. Both teams are dangerous going forward and have weaknesses defending.
  4. You need to give "ain't love"...let's call it (t)ainted love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBWrLhgiX74 (agree with you that it's an awful word actually)
  5. In the American South, it's more than that. It's also used instead of haven't (as in "I ain't seen him in 2 weeks") and doesn't as in "that cat ain't got no tail". I never use it because it really doesn't shorten anything "I'm not Irish" ain't no harder to say than "I ain't Irish".I almost never hear it used in person except when people want to do southern accents..
  6. Juve won 3-0 but were actually poorer than I thought they'd be. If Celtic had any quality at all, they'd have scored at least a couple of goals. Of course, it was without Chiellini in the lineup. Juventus are good, but can't see them winning it all.
  7. He's only infallible as Benedict. Once he quits, he's back to being Ratzinger and he'll be fired within two months for refusing to play the (holy) trinity up front.
  8. I don't care too much either but in a way it would be funny if Spurs finish fourth, Arsenal finished fifth and win the CL. Sure, Gooner fans would be annoying, but the Spurs would be so pissed off, it would be hilarious.
  9. Damn I miss being in the CL. Feels so weird to be out at this stage and try as I might, I can't get too excited about the Europa League.
  10. That's too much depth. We only play with one striker so our third striker would get absolutely no time. Lukaku was our third striker last season when we had two misfiring strikers and he still only started 4 games, all of them pretty unimportant. If Chelsea are going to play 60 games or so, that means roughly 30 starts for 2 different strikers. You can have three strikers playing regularly if you have a different formation or if, like Anelka, one of the strikers is capable of playing on the wing, but 4 people for 1 spot is a waste of money and talent.
  11. Dortmund can't afford either Falcao or Cavani. The rumour is that they'll go after Dzeko which might make some sense. He's a good player in a sub role, they seem to like their Eastern Europeans and Man City will probably want to get Cavani or Falcao themselves.
  12. Can't see KDB starting the season as the only or even main pivot guy. He's playing (successfully) as a fairly attacking midfielder this season and his strengths right now mostly seem to be in that position. I'm curious as to why you think he's being streamlined to play in the pivot. I thought Oscar was going to be moved there (based on things he said) but that hasn't happened either.
  13. Not most of it. They do get some blame of course. Cech was mostly at fault because the defenders probably had it covered if he stays back, but Hazard was also to blame. That doesn't mean he had a bad game, he just lost possession and that led to the counter-attack which led to the goal.
  14. They were pushing up the pitch because Chelsea were attacking. Hazard gave the ball away on the left hand side and Wigan counter-attacked with our defenders on their front foot. They didn't exactly defend it well, but Cech made a mess of it which created the goal.
  15. Di Santo went around Azpilicueta as well, maybe even worse than Cole. Thought our defence did OK generally. Cahill had one terrible pass, but it was a foul that caused it, so hard to blame him. Goal was caused by Hazard giving away the ball and then Cech coming out when he should have stayed in. Other than that, we were pretty solid defensively.
  16. I think we're all happy to see Marin score. Hopefully, the subs of Benayoun and Marin today means the last time we see Bertrand used as a midfielder.
  17. They're idiots, who cares what they think. They also gave Demba Ba two stars and wrote "Came on as a substitute but never got himself in a scoring chance."
  18. Great win although the scoreline does flatter us a bit. Lots of very good performances. Azpi, Lampard, Torres, and Luiz were all excellent. Feel sorry for Torres, he played very well, passed well, defended well, and had two very good shots on goal which were Al-Habsi's best two saves.
  19. Al-Habsi only makes great saves against Torres.
  20. I don't blame him for that one. He made a good tackle and was clearly fouled to give up the ball.
  21. Simple goal again...Great cross by Azpilicueta.
  22. Dominant first half after the first few minutes but we need to finish our chances!
