Not true Skipper, several of his goals have been vital for Madrid in getting the 3 points. Real-Celta 2-1 Real-Athletic Bilbao 2-1 Real-Deportivo 3-2 Real-Espanyol 2-0 (Morata scored the first goal in the 33th minute. Real only scored the second in the 83th minute) Villarreal-Real 2-3 Leganes-Real 2-4 (3 goals from Morata) Sporting Gijon-Real 2-3 That's 9 out of his 15 goals that were vital in getting Real the 3 points in 7 games.

Problem for me is that his physical presence only counts when he's running with his face towards the opposition's goal. Back to goal he struggles because of his lacking link up ability. I think people like to exaggerate how much he's improved. His link up play has gone from awful to somewhere between poor and average. While i understand the logic of comparing Lukaku's link up play to Costa's.( i agree that their link up is somewhat on the same level) The issue that i have with that is that Costa was able to make it work because of his tenacity and his really sharp off the ball movement. Lukaku doesn't have either of those 2 things. Personally i feel like both Morata and Lukaku won't improve significantly anymore. I think it's dangerous to buy Lukaku with the assumption that he'll improve or/and that he plays better just because he'd play for a top club. There's absolutely nothing that would guarantee that.

Personally i prefer Morata over Lukaku because Morata is a more well rounded striker then Lukaku. I feel a more well rounded striker would be better for our team. In our system our striker has to both run the channels aswell as drop off and link up with the rest of the team. Morata is good at both those things while Lukaku is great at running the channels but poor when it comes to linking up with the rest of the team. I also feel that Morata would give us more stable performances (less peaks but less drops) while Lukaku would be more like Jekyll and Hyde great in one game but useless in the next one.

On the ball it was a 3-4-3 similar to ours, off the ball it was a 3-5-2 with an assymetrical 3 man midfield (Mandzukic, Marchisio, Pjanic). Sandro was able to stay more in position because he had Mandzukic screening in front of him. Dani Alves didn't have that luxury so he needed to be more aggresive when defending. I think Allegri switched to a back 3 because of Monaco playing a 2 striker system.

Morata has 13 goals and 4 assists in 1166 minutes. That's 1 goal every 89,7 minutes. In comparison to Costa who has 19 goals and 6 assists in 2848 minutes. Morata for me is enough of a goal threat and i do think he'd be capable of getting around 20 goals (In the PL). About the lone striker thing. If Sanchez can be succesfull as a lone striker then i don't see why Morata can't. Also i'd argue that our system offers more support to our striker then other systems do because of how centrally and closer Hazard and Pedro play to our striker.

Disagree, we dominated the midfield because of Koeman's decision to have Gueye man mark Hazard and leave the midfield battle up to players like Barkley and Davies.

Kante-Matic, Kante-Fabregas both pairings have their issues. Kante-Matic isn't good enough on the ball and Kante-Fabregas isn't good enough off it. Regardless of who we play Tottenham will have superior midfield and wingbacks. I just can't see us outplaying this Tottenham side. Only way i see us winning is if we keep things tight, defend well and then take full advantage of whatever chance(s) we get in the game.

Said it before, would love to have Lemar on the LWB position. Him and Hazard would be a nightmare to defend against. Wouldn't mind a Bakayoko- Kante midfield if it meant more attack-minded wingbacks. Also what do people think of getting Mendy or a player like Mendy (fullback with good height and physical abillity) to play LCB ? I've been thinking about what left footed cb's we could get in the summer that would be able to play in the role we'd want but i just can't come up with anyone. Would make a lot of sense considering they'd be comfortable on the ball and pushing forward with it. They'd be used to defending in wide areas. And they'd offer tactical flexibillity as we currently don't have any ideal left fullback to play a regular back four (Azpi is right footed and too limited going forward and Alonso gets too easily exposed as a fullback.)

Even if we were to lose to city we'd still be 4 points clear with 8 games left to play. It would add pressure yes but we would still have to drop points in 2 games and that's with the assumption that Tottenham and City win all their remaining games which i highly doubt they will.

After the assist i can remember several good actions by Hazard and Fabregas. Costa's chance were he slips and the goalkeeper saves was created by Hazard and Fabregas. Also the 1-2 with Hazard-Fabregas where the goalkeeper saved the Hazard shot. Second half they were a bit less but If costa passes that ball to Hazard it's an easy tap in. Then there also the pin point cross Hazard delivered to Costa which he headed wide. That would have been a goal and 2 assist. Second half Palace were defending really narrow which lead to a lot of space in the wider areas. That's the reason Pedro was more involved as we were frequently passing the ball into the wider areas. I was actually dissapointed with Pedro and Alonso. For all the space and time they had and as involved as they were in the second half the deliveries and end product were very poor. Annoyingly enough the few times the delivery was on point the positioning in front of goal wasn't. Such an incredible frustrating game. I'm actually getting annoyed just thinking about it again.

Pedro by far, our best player ? Not sure what game you watched. Pedro had a very mixed game. Did some good things did some bad things.(Gave away the ball before we conceded the first goal aswell) Fabregas and Hazard were quite clearly our best players. Both involved in our first goal and created several other chances.
