  1. Would Drogba get into anyone's all-time Chelsea XI ahead Bobby Tambling now? He would for me... which is a little hard to say. I understand what Tambling did for the club and how many goals he scored, but obviously I've seen much more of Drogba, being one of the 'younger' guys on here, and now that he has won the Champions League with us I guess he edges it. (Now it's time to be sneaky and slip in my updated all-time XI here) Bonetti Harris LeBoeuf Terry Le Saux Makelele Lampard Zola Mata J.Cole Drogba Can't believe Mata's already in it too! I'm finding it hard to leave out Tambling though, so I guess a "B" team is in order :- Cech Ivanovic Carvalho Desailly Cole Wise Di Matteo Deco Duff Osgood Tambling
  2. BIG NEWS: Lille's highly sought after star Eden Hazard has agreed terms with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, according to the player's agent. There is one other club interested in his services, but it's unknown who they are at this time. Quotes: "We are no longer in the negotiations stage," Hazard's agent John Bico told The Telegraph. "We have reached agreement with all parties. There will be no higher bid. "Eden has already said he wants it to be fixed before June 2. He will decide after the Red Devils' [belgium] games against Montenegro and England, then go on holiday with peace of mind. "Eden is in the reflections stage and a decision will be taken quickly. Those who have come forward have a one-in-three chance [of signing him]."
  3. We shouldn't be stupid and shell out £40mil for a new striker. Drogba's leaving. Torres IMO SHOULD leave (not in exchange for Falcao). I'm sure if we sold to the right club, we could get £20mil for him. Then...wait for it... - We use Sturridge in position, as a striker. He's gotten A LOT of goals this season considering it's been only his FIRST full season as a senior player playing regularly (and out of position, too). Playing him as a lone striker would mean he doesn't NEED to make the pass/cross as much, so he'd be much less frustrating. He has PACE, and the balls to try shots that other strikers won't - which keep the goalkeeper off guard a lot of times. He really is special. He's just being used wrong at the moment. He would easily get us 20+ goals a season.
  4. I really want a statue of him made. As I love doing, I might start a petition. Greatest African footballer I've ever seen. He's one of the few irreplaceable players in this world. Not one defender in history has been able to handle him. Not one striker in history has bullied defenders the way he can. I've got a lump in my throat now. Will miss him sorely.
  5. Of course I don't want overpriced and overrated players who YOU only know about because the media make them seem like the next big thing. Again, I'm not being mean, but actually do some fucking research instead of just jumping on a bandwagon and assuming every £40mil 'rated' player is good or that they would fit in with our system. smh.
  6. van Der Wiel is just an expensive, younger version of Bosingwa. Can't defend at all. Next.
  7. Manchester City are currently in talks with Milan over a £40mil-ish deal to sign Thiago Silva so that he can partner Kompany. Cunts. Once again, just trying to buy every single player they can even when they don't need them. Lescott will be furious. Milan haven't asked for the inclusion of Tevez in the deal for Thiago Silva, but have asked for Kolarov on loan with option to buy.
  8. His playing style couldn't be much further than that of Drogba's.
  9. But we still wouldn't have a single natural winger in the squad.
  10. Just watch ONE single match of his in full. That's all I ask. If you can't do that, don't get excited over a player and think he's worth getting at THIRTY FIVE MILLION.
  11. Like I said earlier - I follow Sao Paulo, and have done for 6-7 years. So yes, I've seen around 50 or so matches of his.
  12. Walcott runs at high speed and gets past 3-4 defenders each game with dribbling, skill and good technique. I wouldn't exactly consider him one of the best players in the world though. Would you? Walcott is proven in the Premier League, and would cost tonnes less than Lucas. Should we sign him? If he was Brazilian and in a weaker league, I'm sure most people would say "yes" for an odd reason.
  13. This is exactly what I'm talking about, and what frustrates me so much on every forum I've ever come across. People just post Youtube videos and then think "Ooo, I've scouted a player. He's the next big thing." I'm not being mean, I'm just being honest. Youtube videos make Heskey look like Messi. That's why they're called "HIGHlights". Also, I can name literally 20 players in the same league as him who 'run past 3-4 defenders' every game. The only reason anyone on here even knows his name is because of the MEDIA. The same MEDIA who don't actually know that much, and over-hype everything to come out of Brazil, including our young Piazon. This would be one of our worst ever signings, I assure you all.
  14. Have you watched him play a single game? And to answer your question, Kaka signed for Milan not long after his 19th bday.
  15. I'm not trying to be rude, but I assume most of the people saying he's "The new Ronaldo" and really want him here only watched a few Youtube clips of him. Don't be fooled. I've been following Sao Paulo for around 6 years now, and this boy is not special. He's great, but in the PL, would get absolutely destroyed. He is far from a typical winger. He's more like Kaka in his prime, but he can't finish as well as he could. He needs acres of space and loads of time on the ball, so that he can either run like Ramires with his head down, or use his trickery to get around opponents. He'd be an average-to-top player in Serie A, but a total flop here. He also gets dropped whenever Sao Paulo switch formation for a game or two, as he's extremely bad at adapting. A 4-3-1-2 and 4-2-2-2(box) are about all he can handle.
  16. Arsenal are in talks with us to permanently sign Benayoun after his successful loan-spell.
  17. I think the 4th time might actually be Juventus. The Juventus board etc. have promised that an expensive World-Class forward will be arriving, as their priority is to get a Right wing-forward in to replace their Pepe.
  18. I understand this will leave some people angry, confused and bum-hurt, but hear me out for a moment. Do any of you just hail McEachran as one of our best ever academy products... just because other people say that? It feels as if people are calling him 'great' just because others do. There's a REASON why he doesn't get playing time, even at Swansea. Allow me to explain. He's shown potential, but just because he shone at youth level and is English, everything was blown out of proportion. That's just how England works. Overrated and overpriced players is the norm for us. When you REALLY study Josh, the way he thinks, moves, plays, etc. you can see a player who is composed... but completely out of it. He plays as if he's high all the time. Watch ANY clips from the time he got to play for Swansea - He didn't run once. He just jogs around the field, looking into the sun, staring at the birds flying over the stadium. He doesn't have the attitude or mentality of a WINNER from what I can see, because fans just give him a free pass and say "He's young, give him time. He's the next Xavi." If you really know our players inside and out, including the academy, you'd see we have far better players among our ranks. Lewis Baker, Loftus-Cheek and Swift are all miles ahead with their talents. They're all already outstanding players. A similar thing goes for Piazon. Yes, he has potential, but just because he's Brazilian doesn't make him the "Next Kaka". They play nothing alike. Kaka is an advanced playmaker, where-as Piazon is an inside support striker. He's also nowhere NEAR ready for the first team. He's far too indecisive on the ball, and his dwelling makes him often lose the ball. So in summary - Stop overrating our younger players. You will be let down, unfortunately.
  19. While we're on the topic of goals and Lampard, for some odd reason, very few people seem to know this, but - Did you know Lampard is the highest scoring midfielder in the history of professional football? Rather nice isn't it?
  20. It IS a shame that Cole does indeed support Arsenal still, but what he's done for our club is just amazing and usually makes me forget that. Aside from Maldini, he's possibly the best left back I've ever seen. Is it safe to say he's the greatest left back to ever play in the Premier League? Oh and yeah, that "No one can say anything to me" was legendary!
  21. Let's just keep this short and simple. Here you can post your own chant ideas for our players, other teams players, and everything football-chant related in general. (If there's already a similar topic, just delete this one.) I'll start us off with one example someone just came up with on Facebook - "No income tax, No V.A.T, No money back, No Champions League..Black or White, Rich or poor, Goodbye Bale and Adebayoooorrrr."
  22. I know we've had a "meh" season when it comes to the league, but really, this is our greatest season ever. So, with that said - Do you guys think the value on some of our players will have gone up? Kalou for example - Chelsea haven't lost when he's played this season, and he's also won the Champions League and F.A. Cup this season. Surely in today's market that should put him at around £13-16mil, regardless of his talent. I'm sure Malaga or PSG would be happy to cough that up for him.
  23. De Bruyne - Lukaku - Hazard The Belgian Connection.
