cant believe Lampard takes our freekick surely someone else can. AVB was right to bench him last year , besides goals what does he bring to the table. He is not a #10 he is not a deep lying playmaker nor a box to box player anymore. Its just an English thing to glorify the english players more so than not. EX. Lampard Terry, Gerrard, and Rooney, some extent Wilshere, but in truth their counterparts are the important pieces to that giving team EX. Ballack, Cavalho. Xabi Alanso, and Christiano Ronaldo etc.. Now look at our midfield that is suppose to dominate Brighton it did not. And if my vision is correct they are no Barcelona. Everyone can see that Essien is past it yet here he is, Meireles is Mediocare, Lampard just in the team because if he does not play he complains, but more so he doesnt understand that the team no longer revolves around him. I feel sorry for Torres, such a midfield only works when you have a monster by the name Drogba, not your modern day striker that relies on service. I once said this revolution of our team is stuck half way. Our midfield is more concerning than that of the striker issue. Lampard and Co. need to take a step back or leave in order for Chelsea FC to move on. Our style is changing, unfortunately you cant teach an old dog new tricks. P.S: Have you notice how when we sign a new player who is exciting and diffrent they eventually fall into the mandain patterns of slow passing and moving as the veterans...hmmmmm P.S: what is di matteo's philosophy for the team because i seem to not recognize it, it seems like he tells the players to go out there and just play. Yet you can see Britton have a philosophy and a style at least.... ( at least AVB had a style of his own) How I which we had not won the Champions League and started EVERYTHING from scratch.

Can anyone who saw him play in the Olympics post avideo of him, or describe his play and interaction in terms of going foward and deffending and who he most likely represents as a player. Thanxx

How Chelsea lost against Milan in pre-season

The 4-3-3 is the way to go. As it gets the best out of the players we have at hand. In my previous post I have talked about Ramires inability to pass, and control the ball which would make him an option for the 4-2-3-1 but in a 4-3-3 , or 4-3-2-1 heserves as a very important player. Both interms of his deffensive and offensive capabilities , his drive( deep piercing runs), and his energy which in tern gives us a certain tempo to our game (plus a plan . His lack of composure with the ball can be fixed with the inclusion of Mata on his side of the field ( Hazard-Torres-Mata) as he will roam and be creative on that side while Ramires would add the energy and overlapping runs( both through the middle and around the Spaniard) Not to mention do all the deffensive work ( tracking back etc..) that Mat lacks when he is played on the wing. : 4-3-3: 4-( oscar-mikel-Ramires)- ( Hazard-Torres-Mata) PS: Ramires has been called by Brasil for an International friendly lets see how he and Oscar are played together by Mano Manezes. -
at last we can come to the coclusion lampard and mikel do not fit the bouble pivot. neither wants to deffend and neither moves the ball quick enough. we may have bought players for our attacking thid but the crucial part of the midfield is still lacking, and as such our deffending hasnt been great. I wish Robbie would use Mceachran and Romeu (ala Swiensteiger and Gustavo)as our new double pivot. Its no wonder our best performance so far ( Seattle) came with him in midfield both dictating and controlling the game. And we know Romeu is quicker in his passing and deffencive qualities. While lampard still gets forward and neglets his deffencive responsibilities, while Mikel even though 25 has not learned that when one goes up the other stays home, or ( Like last year)when Luiz goes up drop in to cover. Pweople will say its only preseason but this was our fouth match while AC Milan this is their third. Plus arguably in our whole line up ( first half) we had players all fimiliar to each other over the year(s) with the exception of Hazard. We are trying to move in a new direction yet we are stopping at the half way house ( aka Lampard, Mikel Essien Etc... ) As our slow labored play still constrives us to the past. As we all saw the new players and young once were the brightest and imaginative of them all. And why are we playing Ramires on the wing? Were we playing Barcalona or was it AC Milan I saw. Love the guy but he is limited, and only works for a strategic required gameplan. Not the Wigans of the world. People need to put their sentimentalism on one side and remember its a squad game not my favorate eleven squad. I thought thrugh out this preseason Robbie would show us something diffrent, change of tactics, formations , and his own brand of philosophy but in the end , nothing . I am quite dissapointed and so will Roman.

And also stop switching Oscar's potion. He is a CAM. and can play across the Band or " the three" not cm as people seem to think ( I believe with chance that position will go to either KDB or Mceachran). Let me sound it out loud he is the CAM and the creative outlet of the great BRAZILIAN NATIONAL TEAM!!!!!!!!!!! He also is been giving the #10!!!!! shirt for BRAZIL!!!!!!! Have any of you followed his career and his stile of play. Becuase if you have you would know he is the true #10 we have been looking for , not MATA. ( I think over the last decade Chelsea fans have not been treated to a real #10 that why when Mata apppeared we have come to the assumption he will be our pure #10) I asssure you with time Oscar will surpass Mata just like Hazard will. And I beg you guys to go and check out Mata for the U21 championships, early Valencia years with David Silva, and all his appearances for Spain . What they all have in comming is Juan Mata playing wide ang succeeding ( just like in the early days of AVB.. only flow was his deffencive work which has improved quite well) Plus during our run to the champions league he became missing as he is not a true #10 , rather a player that likes to play between the lines. My formatoin: 4-2-1-3: Back 4: Romeu, Mceachran: Oscar: Hazard, Torres , Mata

Actually Oscar reminds me of Fabragas when he was at Arsenal. His upright strance, vision , workrate, and playmaking skills are invaluable. As we can see our current midfield cannot keep possesion unlike previous seasons gone by. But in this case with Oscar a midfield three of Mikel, Lampard, and Oscar resembles 09/10. when our midfield Consisted of Mikel, Lampard, and (Deco/ Ballack)= Oscar. Interms of KDB he is a Lampard replacement in the long run as i see him and Mceachran as CM's ( Even thogh he can play in the 3 " 4-2-3-1"). Our game has changed since we can no longer rely on Drogba. Let me give you a hypothetical means of our play next season, as i believe it would resemble that of Spain's ( continous circlelation of man and ball and costant possesion the EPL has never seen before): Torres/ Hazard ( our iniesta), Oscar ( our Fabragas/ orzil), and Mata ( our silva).
-
people talk about loans and such but lets remember KDB has over 100 appearances in the belgium league ( I know its an inferior league.. plus Lukaku came from there, but KDB does not rely on physical attributes rather he is technically superior and his all arouind game is exceptional), and not as a fringe player but the key to their success therefore the pressure and maturity is there. But were could he play, well this past season and in his interviews he indicates he prefers to play in the middle ( cm/ cam) were he is at his best, and vision, passing, setplays , and ability to dictate a game are just..awww and aguably the best player in Belgium. He has also bulked up, and if giving a proper chance would displace Lampard in the double pivot as the season winds down. I am telling you guys this kid will be special.. i have not seen a kid his age so complete as a footballer. So my starting line up would be : Back 5/ Mikel-KDB/Hazard-Oscar-Mata/ Torres.
-
KDB is a special talent. He reminds me of Toni Kroos/ Swiensteiger in his overall Package.( ironically like Sweinsteiger A wide midfielder converted into a central one- although he himself has stated the Central midfield is his best position) In terms of potential i would rank him above Kroos, it is just a case of will he get game time? Because lets be honest who would have thought Kroos would replace Muller. In a way we actually dont need another midfielder next year. Allthough i love Frank he should not play more than 30 games. Rather he should Share game time with Mceachran and KDB( so he gets used the the English game, and less Pressure... He would also share time with Mata at CAM and give him a breather ) as well as tutoring both of them the Chelsea way and the winning ethos that Mourinho instilled in him during his time here. If things pan out well could you imagine a midfield choice of CDM- Mikel, and Romeu/ CM- Lampard, Ramires, Mceachran( our own Xavi/Modric),KDB/ CAM- J. Mata, KDB(Toni Kroos/ Swiensteiger ), Kakuta, Paizon. = All of them could be world class.
