This performance at the Carabao cup final won't help him make his case. My take regarding him hasn't changed that much: good roster player, but he can't possibly be starting for us esp as the most attacking CM/CAM. He simply does not have the quality for that, at least not at this level.
-
Yeah he wasn't terrible, but he's supposed to be our one WC player and tbh he's been well short of that.
-
Glad to hear you don't read your own posts. Given you don't seem to know how to disagree, good bye. 👋
-
Yeah the "not reading the rest" does not surprise me one bit.
-
While I fear our main troubles are not down to the manager choice, in football at this level if you lose you should go. Give a chance to someone else. Regardless whether Poch stays or go, I for one, would be very disappointed if our starting XI isn't much changed come next season.
-
Awesome post man. Calling people a clown.... really quality post!!! congrats. Yeah Poch should have come on the pitch and held the guy himself because clearly our players couldn't... twice! Once again, congrats for the quality posts, opinions, and for being an overall nice person. 👍
-
Right but the point, for me at least, is that the one (Diaz has a case too) WC player on the pitch today was playing for Liverpool and won the match.
-
yeah especially after the a "kid" named Virgil scored the winner (and another goal before marginally disallowed). 🙂
-
So? a better manager would make Gallagher get a 3rd chance in front of the goal... and then? would he score then? Poch can go and perhaps should go--if you lose you are out. I really don't give a fuck because I think that's not the MAIN problem we have. invite Klopp, after his sabbatical, if he would like to coach these players and he'd say, "thank you, but not thanks!" that will be the case with any of the better managers out there. They want to fight for silverware with WC players and we offer neither. My point isn't that I disagree with you on Poch as a manager, but with the amount of blame he deserves for our troubles.
-
Fine agree to disagree here. I’m very confident with my opinion that another manager won’t do much with this roster. Honestly we will never find out bc if the club can see what’s going on the roster will be Much! changed come next season.
-
The advantage always comes from the top players like Virgil did today. We have nothing like him atm, but used to.
-
Seriously?! 😐 of course he is ! There are a lot of managers better than poch. now not seeing this roster for what it is is a mistake for me.
-
Change with what? What poch can do if Gallagher gets in front of the goalie twice and takes too long to apply the finish? Replace him with who? madueke will be shit under a better manager too. Same with mudryk.
-
Madurke is one of the worst players I’ve seen player for Chelsea fc. Mudryk is not good enough to be a Chelsea player. players aren’t good enough I’m afraid. getting a better manager won’t change that.
-
They have better players a lot of them actually even today. yes less so in extra time. I don’t see anything remotely as good as Virgil or Diaz in our roster but that’s just me. So, it’s hard for me to blame the manager esp considering the poor finishing. mudryk and madurke were shit just like Liverpool kids. Because they are shit.
-
somewhat true. Diaz is better than any attacker we have. we have nothing like Virgil anywhere on the pitch.
-
Ditto same complaints about manager Ive heard 1000 times before. You will be proven wrong g soon when poch is replaced with yet another manager who will make no fucking difference whatsoever.
-
If you wake up to the fact they are a far better team with far better players than it kind of makes sense doesn’t it? did we not create multiple chances one to one? Isn’t that the point of systems and whatnot? Now the finishing is down to player quality little else.
-
You will be proven wrong very soon.
-
Gonna disagree with most here. Tactics were good and the performance was good. the players let us down with poor finishing and poor decisions esp Gallagher who was really poor multiple times in front of the goal. liverpool had better players in all areas of the pitch. Well until the kids came on — no excuse after that.
-
Their goalie did not do anything spectacular—it was more about our poor finishing imo. liked the starting XI and have to say the subs have been spot on esp timing wise.
-
It was a half joke. None of what I wrote is actually true, but it appears to be true based on recent business done between the clubs.
-
Far better players got scant playtime with us. 😞
-
agreed. I think skill wise Odoi is far superior to both actually. Mudryk has the pace Odoi lost, and Madueke is fairly physical.
-
on the other hand we will prob really go for Ferguson... 19yo, from Brighton... it's an irresistible proposition. Brighton is a club built as a honeypot for Chelsea FC... smart business.
