Something can always get worse, I'm afraid. If Filip causes us to lose several points until the end of the season and costs us the CL, would that restore faith in Maresca as well? That's why I don't think that's nearly as important as Filip proving he's good enough, to mostly like the Goalkeeping and other coaches (more so than Maresca himself).
