  1. Indeed. Perhaps Arsenal are better and don’t, for example, lack attacking players the way we do.
  2. What a difference having a top striker makes.
  3. Is giroud useful anymore? Even as a sub? if he cannot even connect that cross what can he actually do?
  4. Pedro is having the worst game of his career. Not sure why he’s still on.
  5. 100% of the points you are disagreeing with I did not make. my point remains that you, who made the claim, not I, that a player Y from a smaller team would Easily made it here. I don’t think it’s that simple given the many players who failed here and succeeded elsewhere. While I don’t disagree with the rest, it is mostly irrelevant imo. I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if there is money laundering in the mix too. It is what it is though. ok back to the nightmare that the arsenal game looks to be.
  6. Telles plays in fucking Portugal... how the fuck do you "just know" he would do well at Chelsea and the PL? By watching him against different opponents with different styles of play and weaker leagues? Switching clubs was merely a suggestion since you don't seem to like anything about Chelsea. BTW you are giving me power I don't have, and I do know I don't have it. So, you are saying that the people who work for the owner and are paid by him are doing something he does not want them to do? Or perhaps that they are incompetent, but the owner is completely oblivious to it? I mean if you think you can do so much better, why not do it professionally like the people you constantly criticize? You know these people working for the "shit" board make a lot of money doing that "shit" work. Again, just a suggestion.
  7. Lucas Hernandez looks like an interesting player, but still a gamble. Would not go for Telles, as a former gremio player I know his style well and is already past his prime. Terrible in defense and never played in a competitive league. Pass. The others are huge gambles as tiny league and team players. If you think they are not (gambles), you haven't followed enough youngster's careers... That's why scouts make so much money - perhaps you should give it a go since you like to do it for fun anyway? The board is not shit. What does that mean anyway? Maybe you should support a different club? The board is whatever the fuck the owner wants it to be. No, I do not agree with many things the board does and have done so in the past, nor do I think the youth system is run for the benefit of the senior team, but I do presume that they are doing what they are instructed to do. Why? because they are still well employed.
  8. the market in football is very competitive and players usually do "deserve" their wages. Maybe the word is valuation instead, but I digress. The moment bayern became interested, CHO's valuation clearly increased, which forces our hand into at the very least matching what he would've gotten there. Aren't Willian and Pedro are on higher wages than 70K? CHO better turn out to be at least a Douglas Costa. Anything else than that and we will have to call him a flop - one of those many prospects that never were.
  9. Here we go again with you telling me what I think, or how I think. Please don't... assume you don't know and that's why I type it down. I can come up with hundreds of one-liners from you to make it sound like anything I want. And that was based on what Sarri has claimed after a strong start of the season by alonso, yes he had one. He's a good player IMO... but I just wrote that. Right but that's besides the point isn't it? Are Gaya and Alba, the superior players in your opinion, available and willing to come and join us. To me they are are more different than better. Finally and again, I have no problem when folks want to improve on him, esp if a better player can be acquired (easier said than done IMO). My issue is with calling him "shit," which is both disrespectful, due to his achievements for us, and also delusional. Again, because he's a good player, who starts for a top club and (occasionally) plays for a top NT. Maybe we just have a very different definition of what a "shit" player is.
  10. Maybe, or maybe the next manager will come and Alonso will start all the same. I personally think he's a good player and certainly does not deserve being called "shit" over and over again, esp considering his many contribution to our side. While Sarri hasn't won anything, Alonso did and with numbers to back it. He also plays for spain too, so are Spain manager and coaches also delusional? Sometimes the simplest explanation is the correct one.
  11. However many times you call a player "shit" - and one who actual had an important contribution into our last silverware - it is still just one opinion. "extreme lack of pace" is the same reiterated point 100x over. One that nobody disagrees with. I personally think you are delusional and Sarri is a very good manager, but that's just my opinion.
  12. so are the reiteration of the same points about his known weaknesses, which are indeed quite obvious. On the other hand, folks just don't see what he does, only what he does not do. Watch us play and see where the ball goes? Is it Azpi carrying the ball into attack? Where does the ball go when Jorginho has a player on his back? His passing is actually quite impressive, which fits the way the team play like a glove. The guy had a perfect assist to pedro last game - why cross when you can pass to a player in the box? Of course it is better to have a "proper" left back who will produce 10 good crosses for our midget attackers. We are going in circles on this thread though... same points back and forth.
  13. Should be useful to filter out some of the more toxic posts, and to reassure one's sanity at times: like Alonso had a good game against newcastle despite the usual negativity on here.
  14. perhaps some folks here should too
  15. We don’t need higuain... we already have him, which would be giroud. what we need is an athletic, mobile, skillful player who would be capable of moving hazard back to his original position. Everything morata should’ve been, but isn’t.
  16. Good post until this bit. One can either think Conte, sarri, and most coaches employed by Chelsea are deluded, or that there is a minority here on this site who are completely deluded - not my choice of words. another puzzlement is how do these folks, who just “know” (literal meaning of being deluded) that Emerson is so much better when we hardly seen him play?! And especially we hardly seen him play against stronger opposition - Alonso always plays against them. asking for more minutes for Emerson is great and makes sense. But calling a manager deluded because of his starting choices is just bizarre.
  17. Yes, it may backfire if he turns out to be of hazard caliber, but I think the club does not think that he will. I suspect they think he may become a very good player, but are not quite sure how good. This is a good writeup: https://www.lovesportradio.com/news/love-sport-exclusives/callum-hudson-odoi-transfer-a-no-lose-situation-for-chelsea-pat-nevin-explains-why/ I can agree 100% with this bit - I've seen countless prospects (called the next [insert famous player name]) who fail to take that so important final step:
  18. Then it is not 100% is it? If folks here don’t see what alonso does for the team, or don’t think it’s enough, and why he is an important player for sarri (passing from the back), we are simply never going to agree here. might as well just agree to disagree and be done with it. Btw wasn't Willian shit too just a moment ago?
  19. Good game. Kept the football well, but a bit toothless in the final third. Should have won the game more comfortably had Pedro showed up in the second half. Completely miskicked alonso assist and did nothing else to notice. good game by Willian. He and alonso combined well on the left for a change. this team has an important quality which is passing from the back is really good. Luiz, Jorginho, and alonso triangulate to move it up the field with the occasional long ball, mostly by luiz. cant imagine Eden is going to be happy playing in that role tho.
  20. Once again, you don't really know how "I see life." The same way I don't really know how you see life. This is a forum about discussing football and you may have an idea of how I see football, based on some of my posts. And even then, it is still a fairly small sample of that. People like what they like. I personally find many opinions I read here a bit simplistic: replace X with Y and I "guarantee" we will do better, for example. Yes, it can be fun, but not very realistic, or scientific. I did the same a while back with Mikel: was on and on about how the club was full of it... was told many times Mikel "did a job"... and there was no barca after him either... @kc_blue I don't disagree that willian should be sold and that Chelsea may be holding to him for too long. I am trying to understand what the clubs want with him... what he offers at the moment, what they want, and we don't want to lose.
  21. fair enough... Think pretty much the same about the majority of your posts, especially the unsolicited long list of players. Just don't be so angry next time someone claims to "know" you though. You are the one going personal here.
  22. The forum is never wrong... even when it is. There is no accountability for our many mistakes in judgement. No, not as much as some of here who thought a RB made or broke our team, which I still find silly. Nothing about authority, what a silly assumption. When Barca and United show interest, there is information to be had there. You are welcome to ignore that if you want. Wow! now you "know" me... just like some people here claimed to know you moments back. How things turn... Bias is bias, and you are just claiming, repeatedly, to have one. A very different one than what you accuse me me of having, but a bias nonetheless. Again, nothing to do with authority . It's about using information where it can be found, which is something I too deal with in a daily basis. Two other big clubs, United and now Barcelona are showing interest... I happen to find that important information regarding what a player may have to offer.
  23. Yeah we prob know better, right? money, coaches, agents, academy, who needs them!? they pay millions to these quacks while they could just ask question here on this forum... the specialists here would promptly answer and for free too!
  24. It's funny and all, but dismissing the little information and insight that we, supporters, have into the business does not make much sense to me. The market is telling us something: we have one of the very top clubs making bids for a player that many here detest. Maybe, just maybe, he's not such a horrible player? No, he hasn't been effective in the final third, but clubs (and big ones at that) clearly see value in whatever the fuck he does.
