Here in Vancouver, Canada there's pretty decent Chelsea support. Still a bit behind Man U, Barca, Real, but we're getting there. We have an official supporters club (trueblues.ca) and back in the 70's the Vancouver Whitecaps did their own version of Blue is the Colour called White is the Colour. So Chelsea support in this area goes back a ways.

MLS officiating is a farce. The league quality at this point is being held back by the officiating. NFL replacement refs could do a better job. The only thing the refs get right is the vanishing spray they use after counting out 10 yards for wall placement. Makes it pretty hard for them to miss wall encroachment when there's a stark white line on the pitch. I agree.

Please Lampard, if you ultimately decide to go to the MLS one day, don't go to those diving cheats the LA Galaxy who win off the back of favoured officiating.

I see Jellyfire didn't last long. Football in north america is still growing and trying to make inroads in popularity. We know the talent level over here may not be world class yet but our love of the game is. Hopefully one day the television won't be dominated by american football and baseball. At least with the internet it's a whole lot better than the 80's when all we had was Soccer Saturday hosted by Graham Leggat. We got a condensed 1 hour version of a match, highlights of the rest, and that was it. My local club the Whitecaps lost today in the MLS playoffs when the Galaxy were awarded a peno on a Donovan dive. After the Sunday travesty, and now today, I have so much anger that has to go somewhere. It's aimed squarely at Swansea. Let's smash them!

It's pretty simple: football isn't played with the same style match balls from 100 years ago. Boots aren't the same. Climacool kits. Technology progresses. These things don't even affect the integrity of the game. The rules that do affect the integrity of the game need to be brought into the modern era as well. Until then, we're wasting progress on the piddly details.

They don't even have to stop the clock if someone's good enough at checking the replay. There's usually 30 seconds or so before play starts up again.

The simple question is what's more important. Integrity or flow? Not to mention waiting on a decision adds a tension/suspense that's not necessarily bad. The funny thing is when they go to replay and still get it wrong (happens all the time in hockey).

Fuck United and the horseshoe up their ass. This is ridiculous officiating and something needs to be done. This is MLS quality officiating.

Welp, first I was stoked at waking up at 5am to catch this game with Cahill's volley...then I was pissed after the atrocious start to the 2nd half...then I was stoked again! Well done, lads!
