this site is littered with favourites.. Andre Schurrle has been poor, he isn't using his teammates and can't hit the target. 9 shots and only 2 on target... awful. Needs to pass more.
-
Best player is the guy who shines the brightest in the big matches. Too small a sample size of games to determine who that is... Hazard is without question our most talented performer and also our most naturally gifted. He needs to show more killer instinct overall no big deal.
-
Never had a problem with Pellegrino until after this game. Clearly the fact he's never found a way to beat Jose in the league is killing him. Moron... we have a 5pt lead there was absolutely no need to play open-expansive football against them and he knows it.
-
The only way teams have been able to stop Hazard this year has been to foul him. He's been devastating in the build up but needs to be on the end of chances and scoring them more.
-
no thanks...

We haven't played this style with this team at all this year. We haven't really worked on sitting deep and waiting for the opportunities, chalk it up to a bit of unfamiliarity and not having enough days to train it. Having said that City did everything they could to break up the counter, fouls were plentiful from them.

That was a shit ton of money for a CB, he was my MotM but he also fouled a hell of a lot and never got carded. We'll see in time if he was indeed a miss, I have a sneaking suspicion he was slightly overpriced. Also, who would he replace in our starting XI? He wasn't gonna come here and play off the bench. Terry is captain and Cahill was a pretty good value buy and English... No way were we gonna grab yet another foreign player.
-
I think you're getting a little carried away. Our back four hasn't been bad at all its the TEAM defense that has been missing. There is no way in hell Jose will hand him anything more than a Capital Cup or a low end prem team... He's still pretty raw.
-
It hurt to see him go. Even more that it was to Utd. Mata will always be loved by Chelsea supporters, he's a great guy.
-
Mangala did foul a lot. Got away with murder a few times that won't be the case in every game.
-
You mean the game we didn't have our best defender, our captain in? the one we lost our best striker in after 45mins? Ya no adjustments were made at all... We lost that game! We were 5mins away from winning this game! What are you talking about???
-
This thread now has down syndrome.
-
Finally someone who understands its not always about us! The opponent has ambitions too!
-
It was better to watch but we were better than Barca then and the Barca against 2012 Chelsea was arguably the best club side ever. That is changing and has been long before Jose came back, we just haven't had a manager long enough to see it through. I'm not falling into any trap, I've been a fan long enough to draw my own conclusions for this club. Mourinho's Chelsea was built on a strong defense first. When you have Ashley Cole, John Terry, Cech in the best moments in their career you've got a platform to build from. And I don't know what you're talking about, nowhere have I used the words park the bus. What we are building an adaptable squad capable of playing in and winning any type of game we get involved. You mention Carlo's 2010 winner, do you remember getting our tails handed to us at City? or the game Utd outplayed us out home only for JT to rescue the victory? I'm talking about having respect for your opponent and knowing what is the smartest course of action to take to either secure a victory or in the case of the City game a point. Do you guys actually think Jose, with a 5pt lead, was gonna play as open as we were against Everton? Each game calls for different tactics.
-
Yes, everyone has their reasons for coming to love the club. The point I was making is for the majority of the clubs rich history we've played this sort of football. Hiddink had us going pretty good football but I'm trying to remember what performances in particular you would say were a complete departure from the way we always played? Barca at the bridge? The team you've come to know and love has always built their foundation on defense first.
-
You still don't get it do you? Real didn't win it playing their brand of football, they were a beaten team but for that one corner at the very end of the game. Chelsea won playing their brand of football which was to soak up the pressure and trying to look for opportunities to counter attack... believe me there is a difference, had we tried to play a cavalier offensive game against Bayern we surely would've lost. He was defending their brand of soccer was why they won. Anyway I digress... Unless you live in the Borough of Chelsea, which I highly doubt you do, most people choose a club that speaks to them and meets their philosophy for how they think the game should be played. You say you chose them because you felt like it as a kid? LOL I guess there's no one way to choose a club to say you'll back till the end of time but I would imagine the footballing philosophy has to play some part... What is it you enjoy about the club then? you just blindly follow it because you have done so for however long? the ethics, philosophy, spirit, policies and tradition have nothing to do with it? you just like them because you like them?
-
First off you're taking it out of context, there is no need to mention Chelsea's win, its clear we got lucky and it was ours to win from Napoli.... Real Madrid were playing their beautiful attacking football and were so close to losing it. The point is football is changing and Atletico, who won La Liga against all odds, play a style similar to ours and were in the CL finals, nearly winning it! and won La Liga against two of the best clubs sides in the world. Why do you even follow Chelsea? This has been our hallmark for ages now.
-
So there is no point.
-
Actually Stoke did extremely well!
-
Lol... what other trophies are you counting? Also why are you talking about Chelsea now? Its clear when we played Bayern we played to defend! That's not the point that's being made. And its changing again! Now you need to have a team that can play a variety of games. One that can defend and also get forward and score. Atletico won La Liga against ALL ODDS playing this way.
-
Ummm.. the goal? You guys have absolutely no respect for the Premier League champions. They have a fantastic team and are extremely tough to beat at Etihad.
-
Pretty sure Bayern played on the counter in the big games. They were much more balanced then. Real Madrid won the cup in the dying seconds of the game, they were literally seconds away from going out... fine margins.
-
And they also play in a two team league and have the third best player ever to play the game scoring goals for them. Football is changing we may never see a team like 2011 Barca ever again.
-
So true... And I'm not even sure what he's talking about? Jose changes his tactics all the time, its Wenger that never changes to his own detriment. Also, why have you chosen which club you follow? Clearly footballing philosophy, culture and spirit have something to do with it? This is Chelsea's philosophy we keep it tight at the back when on the road against top clubs and play more expansive against smaller clubs... Why is that so terrible?
