That's not what I mean, if Reus is truly who we've wanted all along signing Cuadrado won't keep us from signing him. Worst case scenario is we move on Willian to make way... bottom line is player acquisitions don't cease because we signed someone in January

Still trying to figure out why people are comparing Willian to cuadrado? They will be in the squad. It's cuadrado vs. salah or schurrle we need to look at. And firstly if salah and schurrle both want to be in sides where they play more then this is less about necessity and more about need. Point is we don't know. I for one have no problem with fee or Juan's integration into the team because from a distance he looks like the player who can slot seamlessly into our squad. We wouldn't be trying to force him to adapt like debruyne or mata. Also, you can't find players of his make for less than the amount is being bandied about. Willian, who everyone acknowledges, does loads of good things for the team but lacks in the final 3rd went for 30m and we weren't the only team looking at him. Juan at 26m is not a bad fee at all for a player just touching his prime years

But he does improve us. He is better than schurrle and salah so now we have a dynamic high level squad player who can come in and have an impact on any game. Also at the level we are at now we do need to add high level squad players. Look at the likes for Madrid and Bayern, 25m for bench players is the norm now. We want to compete on that level right? If we don't get him and grab Reus, willian becomes our 30m squad player.

Cuadrado won't keep us from improving our team in the summer. For someone to come in one has to go and if Reus is truly available and WANTS to play for Chelsea we will find a deal to get him here.

I think people need to stop looking at other situations as a means for why it could work now. Look at the style we are trying to play, this is Jose's team, not Ancellotti's. We are playing a very different system from the ones we've played before and you need certain player who fit THAT style, its not a matter of "Turan is good we should get him"

LOL... I'll tell you what I see. I see a player with blinding speed who looks to take on players with his pace and dribbling ability. A guy who can put in a decent cross from both flanks and who plays the game at a high tempo. Looks to be a two-footed player too. capable of making good crosses with either peg

Jose is a results driven manager, he knows that if you make it hard for teams to break you down it increases the likelihood you will get the result. More often than not its proved to be successful but I don't think we have the team to soak up pressure anymore and Jose has to play to the strengths of the team.

I think the logic here is buy players who aren't world beaters but who have a good work ethic and allow the best manager in the world mould them into squad players who can do a job for us. I haven't seen much of Cuadrado as a player but of what I have seen he is a hard worker and plays the game at a high tempo. I envision him being the type of personality who can come into a game and inject dynamism immediately, he is exactly the type of player you want coming off the bench or pushing for a start. I really think if the rumours are true that he can be a real difference maker for us in games where the tempo is slow and we don't have the right mentality to break teams down. Cuadrado for me is a change of pace guy.

Weigh that against the success stories and you'll see how wrong you are. BTW Malouda was very good for us in our last title winning season, hardly a bust. Basically exactly what @lionsden said

Willian isn't the solution at RW, its clear neither is Schurrle or Salah. We wouldn't be looking at Cuadrado if any of them provided us with exactly what we need at RW. If you're looking for a pecking order its this 1. Willian because he works hard for the team and is good at recycling possession. Needs more end product but tactically he is always spot on. 2. Schurrle because he's good on the counter attack and can score from time to time. He's a terrible decision maker, doesn't play with the team. 3. Salah because he can stretch a defense....

Hhahahahaha So now Willian, a guy who just barely got into Brazil last year and before that was in exile in Russia is a bigger name then Schurrle who won a World Cup? You're embarrassing yourself.... Jose is loyal to those who are loyal to him. You show loyalty by going out and doing the job you're instructed to do. Salah has been invisible in the games he's played in, mostly against league one and championship sides. If you can't do a job against that lot what makes you think the manager is gonna trust you to do a job against better teams? You have to earn that distinction its not gonna be given to you.

Of course he has favourites! PEOPLE HE TRUSTS TO DO THE JOB! I can't believe we're getting into a discussion about the merits of playing Salah in a team that has lost 2 games all year and have been brilliant. For Salah to get into the squad he has to show he's capable of playing our style and there hasn't been a hint of that when he's played.
