  1. Agree that it was completely incomprehensible to let Lukaku take the last kick.
  2. Not sure if he should have been taken off. Did an amazing track-back in the 112th minute and would of course have been a sure bet in the penalty shout out.
  3. I read he had a poor game, as the whole team. Positive reviews for Malanda though, probably the only remaining big talent of ZW.
  4. Totally agree. And I would say the same of Zidane. In his best moments he was better than both Messi and Ronaldo. Won't be easy to see such players come along again for long.
  5. If you're confident you ask for the number you want
  6. I don't rate him as high as most Chelsea supporters and Belgian media nowadays do. Bit of a hype on the back of his brother, everybody wants to see them play together of course. But Thorgan's statistics were actually not good enough this year for the position he played in and the playtime he got. Have to admit that I didn't see that many games of Zulte Waregem though but I do think their success this season was more due to other players contributions. He was good but I doubt he can aim much higher. Bit strange he was retained in the Belgium squad and got his first cap whereas Maxime Lestienne (Club Bruges) didn't. 20 years, 18 goals and 13 assists this season. Often been compared to Robben and definitely one for the future.
  7. The only real question we must ask ourselves is of course: why would Chelsea want Schurrle if you have De Bruyne?
  8. Who just take anything from Belgian sports websites ... OT: De Bruyne is really made for the PL. I would find it a pity if he stays in the BL.
  9. It was and I am sure it still is De Bruyne's dream of playing in the PL. But I you look at it from his perspective this could all quickly change of course. If Klopp and Dortmund, CL finalists, want him he has a chance of going to a great team. I am also under the impression that the Bundesliga keeps on getting stronger in every way. After this season it's up to Chelsea to make a statement of wanting him, regardless of which coach is at its helm next season. That's what KDB deserves; too much talent.
  10. Agree. He's really a very very good transfer.
  11. Not bad, not bad. Not sure though if he has the real top level. If Chelsea was able to get Coentrao, wouldn't hesitate.
  12. True, he was better before the AFCON. Has lost some of the directness in his play. Seems to cut back more often or pass when he should drift into the space in front of him. Not a disaster, he is a useful player that can be count on and that should be further developed.
  13. Thought he showed good confidence on the ball confirming the evolution he has made this season. The breaks were generally poorly executed however as I think that Hazard that should be sent into space, which didn't really happen. Some very good moments of interplay between Oscar, Mata and Hazard but it should have even more often. Hazard should have scored of course luckily it didn't matter anymore. Great steal though that moment, also counts.
  14. Don't know why Mata and Oscar were below pair this afternoon. But Oscar will improve and be better next season.
  15. I am not sure he got a touch of it but his decision to let the ball pass through showed intelligence and awareness for what is going on his back.
  16. Always loved this guy and especially when he drives into forward positions. His ball control is not always great but his runs always cause problems to the opposite defense. I would mind to continue with a midfield consisting of Mikel, Ramires and Oscar with Torres/Ba, Hazard and Mata upfront. Both Hazard and Mata will have some freedom to drift inside or switch positions in such a scenario of course. Alternatively, Mata could take a starting position in midfield in stead of Oscar.
  17. Thought he was excellent and instrumental to Chelsea's win yesterday. Won the free kick that led to Terry's goal and made Torres receive the ball in a great position (great control and finish from him of course). I also remember a great track back in the 83rd minute, testimony of how involved he was in the game. The only thing he didn't do yesterday is score.
  18. With regard to some mentioning AVB as having wanted him at Chelsea: I doubt that is the case, because as far as I can remember Chelsea was monitoring him already before AVB signed at the club. Whatever of course. Plenty of reasons to be happy he's in Chelsea's ranks. Last week I saw a replay of a ManU vs Real game. And when I saw Van Nistelrooy play I could not but think that Lukaku's game play looks a lot like his . Very active up front. Going after long balls in the corner, not afraid of taking on players and sending in a cross even when that's not his best quality, always available for the team and an ever-present danger in the box. The kind of player a defense is never done with: he can score but is also of huge importance for the team as a whole. Anybody agreeing?
  19. I think Rooney would be very good at Chelsea. Maybe some fans would be against it, that's only natural but I believe he would prove them wrong on the field. With Terry and Lampard near the end of their Chelsea career he also fits in the picture of replacing those two.
  20. Maybe a bit of rest would be good. He played everything for Werder and although they are not in EL or CL, it's his first season at a higher level. Think he also gives the very maximum every game as he really wants to prove himself. Is probably something Chelsea has to look at: to make sure he nows how to build reserves throughout the season.
  21. Kind of agree with this. Despite everything what happened at Chelsea, Hazard has been great for what is his first season. Still, I could also see him be even better at ManU.
  22. Tbh, City would really be the ideal club for him. If he's looking for a long time career in the PL in a stable club where he can win anything he wants, City would be it. What guarantees would he have at Chelsea that a new spell will be different from the last years of craziness in terms of sacking managers? PSG would also be a nice intermezzo of course. Win the Ligue 1 and thus 5 leagues, would be amazing. PSG is also giving a great impression in the CL at this stage. For that reason alone they would do good to continue with Carlo of course. Wait and see. Atm just curious to see if Real can overcome ManU. Fingers crossed!
