I think we need to give the players time to get back in form, wait for return of Hazard, Bakayoko and others. The game shown us perfectly why we need to get one or two more players. I rather lose every preseason game and get proper reinforcements than win every game when opposition is still on holidays, then start the season with same team only to face opponents that wont just let us win. The overreaction on this forum...IMO result was perfect because two conclusions; we need to work harder and we need more players. On side note, Tolisso; brilliant performance he is going to kill it for Bayern. Hopefuly Baka performs as he did for Monaco and we are set aswell.

Azpi wasnt one of unknown players tho...He wasnt as hyped, but still very good already back in Marseille. And in today market, I guess the odds of getting someone like Azpi for 7m is becoming less and less possible. And even then, dont forget Azpi only got real chance when Ashley got injured. The market completely lost it when clubs are willing to pay 50, 60 m for fullbacks, 40m for 16 year olds and 80m for non staters. That said, I would love to get another Azpi for low price. However his profile of FB is that he is quality defender and average going forward, meaning he will get far less attention than a FB thats realy good going forward. And right now we need attacking fullbacks/wingbacks.

Im still positive Sandro will be Chelsea player by the end of window, so Im not too fussed about Mendy. If we were dying for LB, we would definately bid for Mendy, my guess is that we already have secured someone else for LB, most probably Sandro.

I think it makes more sense we bid for Lukaku in desire to drop Morata's price. Lukaku was nailed to join Utd for months. I dont think united beaten us last second because we hesitated. Someone reliable said United was in for Lukaku for quite a while, the transfer wasnt done overnight as BBC reported. It kind of makes sense. Lukaku said a while ago he knows where he is moving, he then went to usa training with Pogba, and in meantime called Chelsea rumours BS. Unfortunely it all looked like he was practicaly ours, but if you think again, it was all assumptions only. All those "he is chelsea fan and would lovev to move here" quotes were bs too, mostly what fans threw out to make transfer reasonable, but Lukaku himself didnt say that in quite a long time. On paper it looked like he is Chelsea bound, but neither him, chelsea, everton said anything about fees or personal agreements. Maybe he was on Chelsea shortlist and Utd beaten us to it, but he definately wasnt out and out first choice, at least not anymore because for all we know, Lukaku might decide to go to United two months ago when he said he knows where he is going. Bottom line, as long we get proper striker, I couldnt care less. Lukaku is far from ideal striker for me anyway. And if our late bid of 75m pounds is true, that means we are not that short from Morata or Belotti.

Few days after they rejected our offer, and we bid again, he said they recieved suitable offer, but they dont want to sell Sandro, however they wont keep him against his will. Once again where the hype is too big. Charly is talented, but he got opportunity in laliga at Betis where he ultimately didnt succeed. Good game here and there, but nowhere near consistent. Celtic move will be great for him. If he wants to succeed in PL, he will need to get stronger and I dont see why scottish league would be a waste, especialy now when Celtic is doing realy well and just maybe he will play with Dembele and Sinclair.
