  1. good read and i agree with most of your views. although you have under-rated the squad's ability in your predictions. we may not be title favourites but we will be up there this season as the squad gels and starts bossing games
  2. has the man of the match poll been discontinued?
  3. good post as usual. cole was troubled by mcleary, 8 is a bit too much imo and also Lampard's wayward passing has gotten him a lot of stick but tbf his passes were a lot more ambitious than the others.
  4. The thing about Lampard yesterday was he was looking to make ambitious passes. u could see the front 4 trying to do lay-off's and one-touch passes. well, its easier for torres with his back to goal and mata and hazard are just gifted. Lampard's passing may be good but yesterday's sloppiness was due to him being over-ambitious. the first few bad passes where little chips trying to feed torres and i think almost all of them went straight to a defender. not much to worry though. i think he'll pick his game up although his pace and mobility have gone down but ivanovic is a bigger worry. we might as well play ivanovic at attack rather than right back at this rate
  5. Dug ourselves out. Good win.. better play overall but still a lot of work to be done
  6. still looked better than Mikel in pre-season
  7. i wouldn't mind 25mil + Meireles. we could send Paulo Fereira gift-wrapped as well but anything higher is ridiculous.
  8. disagreements are better than shit posting the problem here is nobody in the 23-28 age bracket (mikel doesnt count) and thus nobody to truly boss the midfield and drive us forward. lampard is physically incapable now and that's why we need another CM ahead of a striker. cabaye or moutinho would improve this team GREATLY
  9. this is what should happen but mikel instead of romeu and ramires instead of mata is probably what will happen
  10. last player at chelsea who would curl the freekicks was probably deco or ballack. since then it has been alex, drogba, lampard - all shooting with power. interesting to see what hazard brings in terms of set pieces
  11. the players for the pivot romeu - young and learning essien and lampard- old and declining mikel and meireles - well, they are just hopeless ramires - apparently he is better on the wing tells you everything about the problems we are facing.
  12. insufficient data to back this up. u maybe right of course, but i think if we struggle to break defences down we may be seeing more of mata oscar hazard. those 3 behind torres should leave torres with no excuses for misfiring
  13. mata takes better fk's as well. i dont want to see another luiz freekick driven into the wall
  14. dude, its not criticism if you point out he has gone to the same side a lot.
  15. nope. if you read my first post, u could save yourself the trouble. my opinion is that he should change it up. last 4 attempts have been predictable. maybe he is going for double bluff or he is keepin it simple - i am not analysing his psychology or anythin but i merely said he has gone to the keeper's right a lot
  16. i dont care what you say. but don't make up stuff. i didn't criticise lampard, i am merely saying his penalty kicks from the last season have been directed to the keeper's right. it's my opinion that opponents may catch on. don't be a prick and assume stuff for the sake of shootin people down
  17. Meireles hopeless in passing, sloppy in possession would rather prefer romeu , although it is unlikely, or lampard there
  18. true. if torres tanks and sturridge is injured, moses will get a run out up front but his finishing skills are not really encouraging
  19. i am not sure whether you are even reading what i posted. i did not criticise him. it is a fact that keepers have gone the right way in his last few pens and that too it is the same - goalkeepers right side - since the krul save at st james park. then on he took pens against manc, fulham in the bpl, benfica, napoli in the ucl and finally bayern - all to the same side. so, just hold your outburst to yourself
  20. yeah major improvement from Kalou. but he doesn't play CF according to wigan fans. was hoping for depth in attack as well
  21. yeah. nitpicking for sure. been following lamp's penalty routines and since that schwarzer, krul saves he has never gone to the keeper's left.
  22. his effort yesterday was poor but it has worked out so far
  23. tbh, neuer knew exactly where lampard was gonna put it but was beaten for pace even al habsi went the right way but was unlucky that it squirmed under his body de sanctics and artur went the right way as well at the back end of last season. maybe the fact that schwarzer and krul saved his penalties when he went to the gk's left must have discouraged him from tryin it again but at this rate, he will soon be figured out
  24. @Kojo, but clearly his positional sense was maddening. he was acting as the 3rd cb and puttin us under pressure. maybe it was rdm's orders but mikel should be kicked right out of the double pivot imo
  25. how many chances did we create yesterday? while it is true that hazard and mata combined well but overall we didn't create nearly enough chances. also, circling back to moses' performance, his end product is the main issue.he was great takin on cole and ivan but just imagine him and ivanovic crossing from the right. it'll be like a rugby showdown
