  1. Pellegrini atleast made sense. Wenger's complaint was idiotic
  2. He's a good player but not entirely sure United needed a CAM like him. I thought Moyes was looking at a CM, someone like Thiago, Kroos, Fabregas. Mata has never played central midfield here, always one of the attacking midfield spots. he outperformed Hazard for one season here but then again, it was Hazard's first one at Chelsea and in England
  3. Maybe one game but can't imagine anything sticking on like the di Matteo chants when Rafa was here. Jose's connection to the fans is above any player past or present
  4. Why? Hazard is/will go to a higher level than Mata did. Contribution wise. I know they can't be compared as they're different players
  5. He will have to adopt a narrow formation I guess. As you said, 4 players attacking like that won't work
  6. Not the best player. Hazard is the best player.
  7. United can have him for that money
  8. Barca didn't budge. Would've been awesome tbh. Think we'd run the league in 06-07 In 06, Jose wanted Eto'o.
  9. He was allright when he made his first comeback from a knee injury under Hiddink. Scored on his return at Juve and had a good run then on but his 2nd injury robbed him of being a big part in the Ancelotti era. Never got back to his old self after that
  10. Jose wanted him didn't he. Eto'o Drogba upfront
  11. Nothing to do about the CL squad. Anyway it's 7 games (at most) in the CL. Shouldn't be much of a problem. Use Matic and Salah in the Premier League games preceding CL games then rotate to the other options in CL
  12. Yeah. Pretty much everyone is going off his performances vs us. The good thing is he's looked good against Chelsea (and Spurs), so he'll probably be able to make the step up to English league
  13. dimarzio http://gianlucadimarzio.com/senza-categoria/milan-e-fatta-per-essien/
  14. He said club decided and he agreed. Cant trust his words though
  15. Mata is gone. Chelsea goes on without him
  16. - On Mata - The player wanted to leave. Financially, we got the right offer. We wish him very very good. - Chelsea had not prepared for this, hence they moved quickly on Salah - Salah has informed the club he's happy about our interest in him. He wants to come here - No striker in this window - On Essien - Michael can go or stay. Fantastic club man - Torres doesn't need surgery. Out for 3 weeks - 1 month - My elbow is fine. An old fracture. I can play on Sunday. Can't take throw-ins - Wenger complaining is normal. It's what he always does - I think what's not fair is that his team always has the best days to play. This week, before midweek games, 1 team plays Friday -(Arsenal) - In the end, "What are you expecting from Stoke on Sunday" Jose gives a thumbs up and replies "Journalist of the month" - Strong team vs Stoke. Not many changes. They are a difficult team. Physical, direct
  17. Over 7k watching will tune out then
  18. Official website still says Mourinho
  19. This press conference will be something. Ofcourse, Mata is the elephant in the room but Essien and Ba's future should also be cleared
  20. Surprised no English paper has added 1+1 and linked Rooney to us again
  21. Yeah. But was such a drastic change needed in January? I would have been fine with Matic in for Kdb being the only January switch before getting in the 'clinical' signings in the summer to complete the team. With all these changes, it is somewhat of a new start at the club from February and, I don't think it was needed at all. Since Jose has always maintained low expectations for his first season, why are Chelsea suddenly very active in the January market? KdB was going out and there's no problem with Essien moving on but the others - Bertrand, Ba(?) and Mata (to United)? There will be a nice profit in next year's books but one that was going to be there whether they were sold in January or the summer. Reshaping the squad in January was certainly not the initial plan but for some reason, Jose is making more changes to the team now than in the summer. Maybe he's been unimpressed by those players but I don't like the 'chop and change' mentality that seems to be at the club at every transfer window. In the summer, there will be more money spent on left back and striker
