Arsenal got a far easier draw from Pot 2. Liverpool and City have fairly easy draws as well

It is nothing like Cucu, Neto or Caicedo deals. All 3 had a serious body of work in the Premier League before they were signed. We are also in a far more settled version of our squad building right now and it was the wrong move to go for a young project winger for that money

I disagree. He hasn't looked like a 50m starting role signing so far and lot of people rightly pointing out that saving the 50m spent on him would ease the problems in signing Simons

Frustrating though that couple of smarter decisions this summer would have bridged the gap to Arsenal. We are short of the quality Arsenal/Liverpool have in their first XI. Winning one knockout tournament doesn't change that and the aim around Chelsea has to be winning the league.
