He needs something to tide over a year/18 months before the City job, PSG job, Real (again?) becomes available I guess. I'm not overly worried about this given just how bad Spurs have become. Its a major repair job and Conte is not the best manager for it either. This is only going to end one way

Would skip the loan for Billy and bring him back. He cant get into the Norwich XI partly because Daniel Farke is trying to play it safe and go with experienced players after a run of losses. But he's starting regularly for Scotland and has been playing well under Steve Clarke. I'd replace Saul with him, give him gametime like Callum, RLC are getting this year and let him develop at the club itself. Next season - with the contract/age situations of Kova/Kante/Jorgi, the club needs to start planning the future midfield. Another bid for Declan Rice is inevitable but not sure if that is going to happen. Even if it doesn't, Gilmour is a great talent to develop for the future.

Yes ideally replaces Ziyech in squad. We can even sell another winger like Pulisic and target someone like Raphinha who has a bit more unpredictability

The same thinking led to another loan for Gallagher. We can see the potential is there. Its time to throw him in next season I feel

People are reading too much into this. Its a heavily rotated side and one side of the pitch was basically 4 dregs - Sarr, Alonso, Saul, Barkley who will likely not take the field again till December. Can't believe we held on to 1-1 and won on pens.

Completely our own fault letting the situation get this far. Rudiger, Christensen, Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva deals are running out next June and none look like they are signing a new one soon.
