Just no. Mendy's mistake was a brainfade. It has happened a few too many times - Real Madrid and West Ham last season (that directly led to goals) but still he at least covers the goal. There is no redemption with Kepa. We moved on long ago.

There's a reason why literally all the top coaches in Europe stayed clear of Ronaldo this summer. I don't want him even if he has a 20-goal season - it would be at a great cost to the team set up. Ronaldo may have scored 18 goals last season but United collectively scored much lesser than the season before - despite adding Sancho, Varane and in general having a better team. He just doesn't press and we've watched this with Lukaku last year - cannot take more of it

I've liked most players Tuchel has targeted in the summer. De Ligt, Gvardiol, Zinchenko, Cucurella, Raphinha in particular - technically good, able to beat a press and tireless at pressing. We signed just one of them but the targets were well thought out. Even Ake, who many were underwhelmed by, is a starting CB for City right now.

The Havertz foul before the Spurs goal took place 40+ seconds before the actual goal and even if Romero was sent off for violent conduct, the game would restart with a Spurs corner and they'd just have one man less in the box.
