  1. I'm just thinking back earlier in the season, where he did score a lot of goals, that he didn't seem to be as selfish back then, he has only scored 1 goal this year and that was in the FA Cup against Birmingham, his last Premier League goal was back in December 20th 2011. He hasn't scored in his last 7 appearances. Maybe his just desperate to break his goal drought and when his gets the ball he just has one thing on his mind and that's to shot and score, his still only young and his eager to score, he'll mature and get better at taking the right option and come to realise that an assist is just as good as a goal. Looking at Daniel Sturridge stats for this season, he has had 32 appearances, 98 shots, with 40 of them being on target, 11 goals and 4 assists. Where you look at Mata who's only had a couple more appearances then Sturridge, he has 10 goals this season with 13 assists and a total of 76 shots at goal.

FA Cup Quarter-Final, Stamford Bridge 18th Match 2012 vs Head-to-Head Record Played: 101 Chelsea Win: 48 Drawn: 29 Leciester Win: 24 Last Meetings 31st October 2007 - Carling Cup Chelsea 4-3 Leicester Lampard '20 '29' 90 (CHE) ; McAuley '6 (LEIC) ; Campbell '69 (LEIC) ; Cort '74 (LEIC) ; Shevcenko '87 (CHE) 11th January 2004 - EPL Leicester 0-4 Chelsea Hasselbaink '12 '44 (CHE) ; Mutu '88 (CHE) ; Babayaro '90 (CHE) 23rd August 2003 - EPL Chelsea 2-1 Leicester Nails o.g '3 (CHE) ; Scowcroft '40 (LEIC) ; Mutu '45 (CHE) Last 5 Results (W3 L2 D0) Leicester 3-1 Birmingham Reading 3-1 Leicester Bristol City 3-2 Leicester Leicester 2-0 Coventry Derby 0-1 Leicester Championship 12th - 51pts - P36 W14 D9 L13 GF51 GA44 Leicester Road to the FA Cup Quarter-Finals 3rd Round Nottingham Forrest 0-0 Leicester 3rd Round Replay Leicester 4-0 Nottingham Forrest 4th Round Leicester 2-0 Swindon Town 5th Round Norwich 1-2 Leicester Last games line-up (4-4-2) vs Birmingham Schmeichel | Bamba, Morgan, Kennedy, St Ledger | Dyer, Wellens, Danns, Gallagher | Beckford, Nugent Leading Goal Scorer David Nugent 14 Prediction Leicester City have been in some high scoring games recently with 13 goals in 3 matches, 7 of them they have conceded. But they're recent 3-1 win over Birmingham would give them some confidence going into this game. But you wont get any higher than our emotional 4-1 win over Napoli in the Champions League mid-week. but you'll think a lot of players will be rested, Lampard, Essien, Drogba, Cole, Luiz, Ivanovic, Ramires all played 120 minutes 4 days ago and keeping in mind we played Manchester City and Tottenham in the next 7 days too. you'll likely see these changes from the mid-week starting line-up; Mikel in for Essien Meireles in for Lampard Bertrand in for Cole Cahill in for Terry Torres in for Drogba Could possibly see Bosingwa in for Ivanovic Even with all the changes it's still a strong team and they should all be on a high after mid-week and want to continue the run of form. Chelsea 3-1
  3. On another note, I thought the referee from Germany had an outstanding game, let the game flow didn't get sucked in to some of Napoli dives (although he did get sucked into some of Drogba's antics a couple of times) but apart from that he was great, it would be a first time in the CL where the referee for our game was good and didn't miss some big decisions.
  4. vs CHELSEA 4-1 NAPOLI My Match Ratings Petr Cech (1) Made two really good saves, couldn't do anything about the goal Match Rating: 8 Ashley Cole (3) Thought he didn't have a very good game, looked slow at times and slipped over which could of lead to a goal, he didn't seem to get forward much. Match Rating: 3 David Luiz (6) Absolutely outstanding at centre back, made some important tackles and doubt with Napoli long balls and crosses really well. Match Rating: 9.5 John Terry (26) Solid performance, even injuried he battled hard as he always does and scored a trade mark header. Match Rating: 7 Branslav Ivanovic (2) Had a very poor first half I thought, but was brillant in the 2nd half and extra time, made some very good runs on the right and took the goal well in extra time. Match Rating: 7.5 Michael Essien (5) He didn't have much of an impact on the game, but he didn't really do much wrong. Match Rating: 5 Ramires (7) Great cross for Drogba first goal and he did well to get the ball to Drogba which lead to the extra time goal, but he did give away the ball a couple of times. Match Rating: 6.5 Frank Lampard (8) Splended performance in the midfield, really controlled the middle, passed the ball well and did well defensively, scored the important penalty and his delivery from corners were good. Match Rating: 8.5 Daniel Sturridge (23) Terriable performance, lost the ball far too many times, he did have one good effort early on but his early exit from the game was inevitable. Match Rating: 2 Juan Mata (10) Mata didn't seem to get too many touches of the ball, so he didn't have a real great impact. Match Rating: 4 Didier Drogba (11) Lovely headed goal and a nice cross for Ivanovic goal in extra time, worked hard thoughout the game, played some nice balls and used his stength to real effect. Match Rating: 9.5 Subs Fernando Torres (7) Came on for Sturrdige and looked lively, he made good runs and created space, but still just can't score, his doing everything else right just not scoring, he had a real good chance for a goal but hit the side netting, Match Rating: 7 Jose Bosingwa (17) Came on for Terry and played right back, didn't have a impact but was soild for the time he was on. Match Rating: 5 Florent Malouda (15) Came on for Mata late in the game, didn't do to bad for the limited amount of time he was on for, provided a decent cross for Drogba and was calm held the ball up and kept possession. Match Rating: 5.5 Unbelievable performance we showed great character and these are the sort of games you'll always look back and remember. I'm so proud with the way we played. We were lucky early on, the first 20 minutes Napoli were all over us and had some decent chances in which we were lucky not to be a goal down, but we got in the game and played very well from then on indeed. It was so tense, 2-0 up, we're going through, then Napoli score, they're going though, then we score to take it to extra time, then we score in extra time, we're going though, but if Napoli score they'll be through, but we held on. I'm still emotionally stuffed from this game. Just so happy that we made it through!!! Farken bring on the Quarter-Finals!!
  5. We play Man City on Wednesday 21st March.
  6. Seriously? FA Cup is the only realistic thing we can win this season, we're in the Quarter-Finals, no way should we play so many youngsters, you should play your best team in every game, unless it's a dead rubber, or players need a rest.
  7. I can't wait for this game, I'm buzzing for it. I remember in 2003/04 Champions League season in the Semi Final when we went to Monaco and we lost 3-1 there, we came back to the Bridge for the 2nd leg and the atmosphere there was electric, we we're up 2-0 with Gronkjaer superb cross that ended in the goal and Lampard scored the 2nd to give us a 2-0 lead which would of saw us through, I remember how pumped I was, but then Monaco scored a soft goal right on half time which killed us in the end and how gutted I was. I've got a good feeling about this game... that we can over turn it... but the again I can also see being disappointed and gutted at the end of the game if we go out. But then again that's why I love football and that's why I love this team, for the emotion that it brings. :cfc:
  8. People forget that his still only 24, most central defensive midfielders peak around 26, 27. Makelele was 29 when he first starting at Chelsea and he had a brilliant 5 year career with us. Mikel cops a little because of his goal scoring record but his not in the team for scoring goals.
  9. They ended up winning 6-3 against Cagliari, Hamsik, Cananavaro, Lavezzi penalty, Gargano, Maggio all scored plus an own goal. This is what they're manager said after that game.
  10. I must say I'm pretty surprise with the line-up and substitutions RDM made; Starting Kalou over Sturridge and playing him for the full 90 minutes? he was rubbish against Birmingham and rubbish again today. Starting Mata on the bench? his been our best player this season, then substituting him on 30 minutes into the game. Should of started him. Half time substitution with Luiz replacing Ivanovic? when we we're at 0-0 with a extra man he subs a defender for a defender when you have Torres and Sturridge on the bench. I just found it all strange. hopefully his learns by next game that Kalou isn't in our best 11 and Mata and Sturridge needs to play. Drogba took his goal well, but I thought he was pretty poor overall, Lampard I thought was pretty good in midfield, had a few decent shots, Cahill was probably our best player. Anyway, ordinary performances with an extra man and when we did go a goal up we we're very poor, sloppy and careless passes, but the positives that we can take from this is that we got the 3 points, kept a clean sheet and held onto a lead. I'm amazed.
  11. Noooo!! Why we he do that... on our birthday too
  12. Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes he can play on at the highest level for another 10 years. http://www1.skysport...s-10-more-years
  13. The draw for the fourth and final round of the Asian Zone have just been drawn. Top 2 from each group qualify for FIFA World Cup, the two 3rd place teams play in a play-off with the winner to face 5th South American Zone team in a play-off. Games to start June 12th, FIFA Ranking in brackets () GROUP A South Korea (30) Iran (51) Uzbekistan (67) Qatar (88) Lebanon (124) GROUP B Australia (20) Japan (30) Iraq (76) Jordan (83) Oman (92) I think we (Australia) have got the harder group, but should finish top two of the group to automatically qualify for the WC.
  14. Maybe 1 week contracts, so we wont have to pay them out if we sack them half way through the year.
  15. West Brom play Manchester United this week, so hopefully WBA can beat them and maybe Ferguson will be sacked!

They have only scored 27 goals in the Premier League this season, that ranks them 2nd last for goals scored in the PL this season. I think we should start Torres over Drogba, I thought he was good mid week against Birmingham, worked hard and created a good chance for Sturridge and won a penalty, he missed some easy chances but his getting close. RDM must not play Kalou, bring Sturridge in for Kalou, play Bertrand at left back again he was pretty good against Birmingham, and I'm not sure if he'll play Lampard over Meireles after that superb goal, but I think Essien will come in for Mikel. I reckon we'll keep a clean sheet and win this narrowly 1-0 with Torres scoring the goal Prediction Chelsea 1-0 Stoke City
  17. I recall him taking one at the 2006 FIFA World Cup against Tunisia. Besides any quality striker should be able to take a penalty, and should want too. That's the main job of a striker is to score goals.
  18. Now here's a manager that sounds like he knows how to communicate with players.
  19. Ramires was my Man of the Match, he was superb in the midfield, got things moving in the second half. Kalou was so so so awful! gave the ball away countless times. First half wasn't great, Birmingham controlled the game and created a lot of chances, second half we turned it around and play some good football. scored twice but could've been more, Torres has no confidence in front of goal but he worked hard throughout the game. Torres should of taken the penalty, he won it and we we're up 2-0 looking pretty good, take it and try and get some confidence back. Luiz was great in Defence and I thought Mikel was pretty solid in CDM. Into the last 8 of the FA Cup and we kept a clean sheet and RDM was able to turn around our poor performance in the first half into a good performance in the second. it's a start good start for RDM.
  20. His just frustrated because we're not having a great season and his been sitting on the bench for some of the games and I'm not sure too many people came out and say "Yeah I'm enjoying sitting on the bench, it's warmer with a jacket on" I reckon he has been working very hard to try and get back into the starting 11. Just because his said his disappointment about being on the bench doesn't mean his sulking all day around the club not doing training drills, not listening to AVB etc. One thing is you can't blame him for the sacking of AVB, he got sacked because of the poor results, that's all that matters to the board.
  21. Frank Lampard is a Chelsea legend, and he will always be one and can't believe Chelsea fans turning their back on him over the sacking of AVB and his poor form and attitude this season, after all he has done for this club. Let me just remind you, what he has done for this club. Frank Lampard - Career with Chelsea Joined 2001(11 years with Chelsea) 543 Appearances (4th in all time appearances for Chelsea) 182 Goals (3rd in all time goal scoring for Chelsea) 115 Assists Trophies won with Chelsea; Premier League (3): 2004–05, 2005–06, 2009–10 FA Cup (3): 2007, 2009, 2010 League Cup (2): 2005, 2007 FA Community Shield (2): 2005, 2009 World Football Challenge (1): 2009 Barclays Asia Trophy (2): 2003, 2011 Individual Awards won while at Chelsea; 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year - Silver Award 2005 Ballon d'Or - Silver Award FWA Footballer of the Year - 2005 UEFA Club Midfielder of the Year - 2008 World XI - 2005 PFA Fans' Player of the Year - 2005 Premier League : Player of the Decade, (2000–2009) according to official statistics Premier League : Best player (2) - 2004–05, 2005–06 England Player of the Year - 2004, 2005 Premier League Player of the Month - September 2003, April 2005, October 2005, October 2008 Premier League Player of the Season - 2004-05, 2005–06 Chelsea Player of the Year - 2004, 2005, 2009 PFA Premier League Team of the Year - 2004, 2005, 2006 Premier League : 2004–05 Barclays Merit Award (for 164 consecutive appearances) ESM Team of the Year - 2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2009/2010 FWA Tribute Award - 2010 Premier League : leader in assists - 2004–05 : 16 assists, 2009–10 : 17 assists FA Cup: Best player - 2006–07, 2008–09, 2009–10 FA Cup Final Man of the Match: 2007 Carling Cup : Best player - 2004–05, 2006–07 Premier League : Midfielder with the most goals in premier league history - 145 goals Chelsea F.C. : Top goalscorer - 2004–05, 2005–06, 2007–08 Goal of the Month - April 2010 2011 Barclays Asia Trophy - player of tournament 2003 FA Premier League Asia Cup - player of tournament only player to score at least 10 goals in nine consecutive seasons in the Premier League. FA Cup 2006–07 leading goal scorer : 6 goals He is one of the Chelsea most achieved and best player we've ever seen. Just because one season where his form hasn't been the Frank Lampard we've been used too and he hasn't shown the best attitude because he hasn't been playing as much as he would like too, doesn't mean you shouldn't forget about all he has done for this club, staying loyal in the 11 years where his been so good for us, scoring important goals and playing some great matches where it's matter most. His just desperate to play for Chelsea, he still loves Chelsea no doubt, he just didn't have a good relationship with AVB. If he couldn't take that he wasn't getting much playing time and couldn't put up with AVB he could've requested a transfer in the Summer transfer window in January. But no, he didn't and his kept at it trying to win back his place in the team he loves and wants to play and get success for. he'll always be a Chelsea legend to me and you're kidding yourself not to think he isn't, just because of one bad season.
  22. Birmingham Scouting Report Birmingham have 8 players out; Defenders Stephen Carr (knee) Steve Caldwell (ribs) David Murphy (hip) Peter Ramage (cup-tied) Curtis Davies is doubtful through illness Midfielders Andros Townsend (cup-tied) Keith Fahey (groin) Strikers Erik Huseklepp (cup-tied) Caleb Folan (ineligible) They only have one fit centre-half, Pablo Ibanez Last 5 Results (W1 L1 D3) Birmingham 2-2 Derby Birmingham 1-2 Nottm Forrest Barnsley 1-3 Birmingham Chelsea 1-1 Birmingham Birmingham 0-0 Hull City Championship 6th - 55pts - P33 W15 D10 L8 GF53 GA32 Last games line-up (4-4-2) Myhill ; Spector, Caldwell (Out), Davis (out), Ramage (out) ; Burke, N'Daw, Mucth, Townsend (out) ; King, Huseklepp (out) Leading Goal Scorer Marlon King 12 Prediction With Birmingham missing 8 players, 3 of their 4 starting defenders and with our new manager RDM in his first game I think, well I know we'll see a different Chelsea than what we've seen, it will almost feel like a fresh beginning as if it was the start of the season and I can see us winning this pretty comfortably. Chelsea 3-0
  23. Yeah, Jesper Gronkjaer is probably my all time favourite Chelsea player. Other Favourite Chelsea players; Frank Lampard Daniel Sturridge Favourite Aussie Player; Luke Wilkshire Favourite non-Chelsea/Australian Player; Fabio Coentrao - Portugal - Real Madrid Christian Eriksen - Denmark - Ajax
