  1. Villa now thrown into the mix as well...
  2. Since each Lampard and Tuchel managed 19 league games this season, here's a comparison... Lampard - W8 D5 L6 F33 A23 = 29 points Tuchel - W11 D5 L3 F25 A13 = 38 points We have the best defensive record in the league since Tuchel got appointed, conceding 4 goals less than the next team...Brighton!
  3. 7 of his 15 goals last came in the first 5 league games. After that, it's 8 in 29 outings.
  4. He scored 15 goals last season and we still just scraped into the Top 4.
  5. Is 25 years old considered being in prime? And where are your comments on your boy Ziyech? 👀
  6. How about we see what happens next Saturday before we say Tuchel fluffs another critical game? No one seems to be giving us any chance of beating City anyway. Not even you! What did Tuchel fluff today exactly? He put out the XI that most of us expected/wanted and it's not his fault that we kept fucking up chances and then gave away two stupid goals at the back. People keep on complaining about the changes made against Arsenal but apart from Kepa and Alonso, the rest were justified. Rudiger, Kante and Werner were all at risk of injuries. The XI we put out there should still have been good enough to beat Arsenal (ARSENAL!) and let's not forget Havertz missed a sitter when the game was still 0-0 (is that Tuchel's fault?). Another way you could put it is we seem to do better when we are not the favorites, for better or for worse.
  7. I just want chaos (when we're not involved)!
  8. Our defence has been OK without him. 3 of the last 5 goals we conceded came from either Jorginho or Kovacic while another 1 of the 5 was a long range effort.
  9. Would turn that into a 3-5-2, with Mount dropping into midfield.
  10. Maybe I'll have a different reaction when we lose next weekend but as much as it'll hurt to lose the Champions League final now, not sure if we should be using to judge Tuchel. No one could have imagined us getting into the final this season, with the state of this current squad. Losing the FA Cup is the most infuriating one because that's the most winnable cup out of the two and we fucked it up, even more so after we saw the lineup and performance against the same team in midweek.
  11. Manchester City 0-1 Chelsea PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS 2020/21 Champions League Final 29th May, Saturday 2021 Estadio do Dragao 20:00 Kick Off (UK time)
  12. Now for the Serie A Top 4 fiasco...
  13. He hurt his ribs when trying to save the first goal. Seems minor? https://www.goal.com/en/news/Chelsea-to-sweat-over-mendy-injury-ahead-of-champions-league/qq9a695i9z5f10kd9iihsn68i
  14. What do you expect when we had to rebuild our squad with new players? What do you expect when we had an inexperienced manager in charge for 18 months and then had to change to an experienced manager in the middle of a pandemic season with no time to do anything in training? For all the glory of Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Cech etc in the team 10-15 years ago, it's easy to forget that that team was forged to become what it was by Mourinho. He didn't just buy the players but he also built them to be a strong side mentally, character wise, tactically etc. Modern players can't be compared to players from that generation but we should be looking to give time to a manager to build a team to be strong in all departments - like Guardiola has done at City, like Klopp has done at Liverpool. This current team is not a ready made team like it was 10-12 years ago, where we could just sack Mourinho, Scolari, Grant, Ancelotti and continue to win regardless of who is in charge. This team needs someone to lead them and build them, not go through stupid upheavals by constantly changing manager. Ever since Mourinho got sacked the first time, only Mourinho (again) lasted more than 2 seasons and only Ancelotti, Mourinho (again!), Conte and Lampard lasted more than 1 season. Between all of that, we had Grant, Scolari, Hiddink (twice!), AVB, Benitez, Di Matteo, Sarri and now Tuchel.
  15. "He has played the last few games in a double six role, which I don’t think is the best position for him..." https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/thomas-tuchel-Chelsea-fc-mason-mount-b935514.html
  16. It was a half chance at best from a high ball, IIRC. The others mentioned had more glaring chances/misses.
  17. If we go to a back 4, then the only position I see Mount is suitable for is a B2B midfielder in a 4-3-3. Tuchel already said he's not good in the pivot while he's not creative enough to be the #10 in a 4-2-3-1.
  18. The funny thing with this is people think it's only down to having a clinical striker. Sure, it'll help but one person can't do it all. That striker can't be scoring every goal when the others like Mount, Pulisic are fluffing easy chances. Today is probably a good example. Werner barely got a decent chance to score despite getting into good positions while the likes of Pulisic, Mount, Havertz and even Chilwell somehow fluffed their lines in front of goal.
  19. Not sure if Mount is the main man for that under Tuchel but if he's not playing as an attacker, then what is he supposed to do? What is his role in this team? The one thing I'd say is Mount gets away with A LOT of things on the pitch with the fans (more pertinent elsewhere), because he came from the academy. If he misses a chance, fluffs a final ball, makes poor decisions etc (and they have happened a lot), not many fans will complain at all. But if it's Werner, Pulisic, Havertz, Ziyech etc, there will be outrage among the fans. Sure, people will argue that Mount cost nothing while the others cost a lot of money but screw that. If people are gonna hold the others to high standards, top level standards, then it should be the same with Mount as well.
  20. Now that the stupid drama has died down a little, am I the only one who thinks we were unlucky not to win the game? The performance wasn't the best but we created enough opportunities in the final. The only problem, as always, was the decision making and finishing touch! 🤦‍♂️
