  2. Got subbed off and lost yesterday and not one tweet from him. Funny that.
  3. Why must that be the case? Why must it be Hazard just because he's the most talented one around? Are you saying he's the only one who should have bigger ambition?
  4. It is hard not to feel the board lost their way and ambition since the 2013/14 season. Before that, the board seemed to have a clear idea of what they want the squad to be like - bought young, exciting, creative players and wanted to shift from the pragmatic football to a more attractive one. We even wanted to sign Guardiola to build that and impose attacking football at the club but couldn't get him and for some reason, we went with Mourinho because when we brought him back, all those plans went out of the window completely. We hired a manager that is incompatible with those kind of players, sold them one by one and ended up with a squad that is horribly lacking in quality for a big side. While I'm not saying that quality players do not work hard but we have been having more workhorses in the squad than quality players and players who can provide that X factor. To compound matters, whenever we have bought players in the last couple of years, it's mostly to replace outgoing players as opposed to genuinely adding onto those we already have and boosting our squad depth and half of those players are desperately average or terrible. Conte may have his faults - which manager does not make mistakes? - but we can only blame him so much because the board seriously cannot expect him (or any other manager) to perform miracles with such flawed squad, be successful when the competition is so strong domestically and in Europe and then sack him when things go south. We were arguably one of top 5 - or even top 3 - sides in the world 7-8 years ago but we have gone downhill since then. Do the club want to be serial winners or just content with one trophy every now and then?
  5. Gotta pray that he's actually back okay and not we're trying to rush him back. Last thing we need is him having a more serious injury.
  6. I get what you're saying but the more you and others mention this, the more it feels like you all want the club to fail. And if you're gonna say about Hazard, then you should apply that on the other good players we have at the club as well. Let's hope they all see the light and leave the club in the summer.
  7. Not sure if it's as simple as him losing his feet because that wasn't the first time, was it? Every time he has to defend 1 v 1, especially in the box, there's always a sense of panic stations with him. Either he'll put in some miraculous last ditch block or embarrass himself with some silly attempt to clear the danger but fail with it.
  8. Our league results after international break under Conte D 2-2 Swansea W 3-0 Leicester W 1-0 Boro L 1-2 C Palace W 2-1 Leicester L 1-2 C Palace
  9. Play badly and lose again against Roma and I might start thinking that way.
  10. Are you really saying that Mourinho/Pep doesn't require hard work and discipline to carry out their tactics as well? In Mourinho's case, he's hardly any different to Conte. They're both pragmatic and if they have to play ugly to get a result, they'll do it. It's 50-50. We saw earlier in August when we had all those injuries/suspensions, Conte adjusted and tweaked the system at Spurs. Sure, we were under the cosh for long periods in that game but we frustrated them and never gave the space where they tend to thrive in. Just not quite sure what you're gonna get IMO. One game we play well - like the performance at Atletico which came out of nowhere - and the next, we play like Sunderland. I know bad performances can happen but we seem to have brainfart ones when we least expect it. @Pizy, you have a rival for Mr Pessimist here...
  11. Roma also lost today but it's to Napoli...
  12. But Ake was far more developed when we called him back than Tammy is now. Plus, it would be somewhat silly/irresponsible/cruel to recall the latter and expect him to do well whenever Morata isn't playing. More beneficial long term if he stays where he is right now.
  13. Did we reach our peak at Atletico? Because since then, we've been absolutely rubbish. To play badly and get dominated by Man City is one thing but to do that against Crystal Palace is another. The players should take responsibility as well but really want to know how did Conte prep them for the game? Did we actually underestimate Palace, thinking they are just gonna roll over after the thrashings at City and United? Did we not learn anything from the 2-1 loss last season? How on earth did we, time and time again especially in the first half, allow ourselves to be continuously countered by Palace? Everyone knows they have pacey players who are dangerous on the break and can do big damage if you leave them unchecked and we all know our players don't necessarily do too well against direct, pacey players - especially on 1 v 1 situations. Yet, we played ourselves into their hands far too often in that game. And offensively, what on earth was our plan? There was not much proper build up and we ended up just putting hopeful passes/crosses and shooting from distance. So easy for Palace to deal with. We played like a team that looks tactically ill-prepared.
  14. Can't believe the media are hyping up De Gea again for that save - a save that's comfortable and one that you would expect any half decent keeper to make - against Liverpool.
  15. Down to 5th. Watford up to 4th. Watford at home next week. That should be fun. We didn't exactly fare too well against Marco Silva's Hull last season.
  16. Can see where you're coming from but you want the club to sign the best players and yet here you are insinuating he shouldn't stay here long term. Contradiction.
  17. Moses confirmed out of this game while Morata is still doubtful.
  18. Chelsea 3-3 AS Roma PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS 2017/18 Champions League Group Matchday 3 18th October, Wednesday, 2017 Stamford Bridge 19:45 Kick Off (UK time)
  19. We did that on numerous occasions last season but guessing we didn't do that today because Palace's up front - couldn't deal with them even 3 defenders and even Azpi struggled - we're lacking options - players injured and some horribly out of form.
  20. We haven't won a Premier League game this season with him in the starting XI...
  21. If it makes you feel better, Spurs face Liverpool and United in next two games while we have Watford and Bournemouth. Easy...
  22. You know it's bad when Tomo starts labeling others as Torres
  23. Where was Hazard in the last 10-15 minutes?
