  1. Never mind that, people who say Kante needs to play as the defensive midfielder in the 4-3-3 clearly do not have a clue of his previous success. He is one of the best, if not the best, defensive midfielder around but Kante worked best previously when he was playing alongside someone in midfield - Drinkwater at Leicester and then Matic here. He is not suited or discipline enough to play as the sole defensive player in front of the back four. Conte tried Kante there but he was an absolute disaster.
  2. Can't wait for us to find a way to lose to a Spurs side without Kane, Son, Sissoko, Dembele and Dele Alli.
  3. The squad may be average but on the other hand you gotta ask, is Sarri getting his message across properly to the players? You would think that after 6-7 months at the helm, we would at least, at the very least, see some glimpses of the so called Sarriball but we haven't seen it. We have been seeing the same dull, turgid, clueless football week in week out. Nothing has really changed and Sarri is the one responsible of forming the team, making the players play the way he wants. You can blame the players for not being good enough but Sarri should be held accountable as well because he chooses the players, he selects the team and let's not forget, he's been making things worse by playing Hazard out of position and not getting anything out of it.
  4. If that is ridiculous, then the same should be applied to the 'Klopp/Guardiola got time to build their own squad and see what they've achieved. Sarri should get the same!' argument.
  5. At least he tried to change. Sarri isn't even changing!
  6. Before we even get to Plan B, why don't we talk about Sarri's stubbornness to stick with 4-3-3? Why not change it to 4-2-3-1, mix things a little and see how it goes? Sarri wants to play attacking football, that's fine but there are more ways than one to go about executing it. Problem is, Sarri only sees one way of executing it and that is giving us serious issues right now. Gosh, is it really hard to ask for a manager who can make us play decent, watchable football (doesn't have to be tippy-tappy stuff!) and also be flexible at the same time?!
  7. But do they stick with the same formation, tactics when they aren't working? Do they stick with under-performing players? No. People are confusing this whole Sarri being stubborn thing with his style but that's not the case. We are so predictable that Mourinho practically laid out the plan to stop us on beIN yesterday and every team have basically been doing that for the past few months!
  8. Nothing wrong with getting a different manager to change the style but I don't think we've signed up for one who is extremely stubborn.
  9. Can't remember a name or don't want to because it doesn't suit you? Think all the points mentioned are fair. Any rational manager would take Jorginho out of the firing line, to rest him, to give him time to settle or whatever. But nope, Sarri has just been blindly playing him week in week out with the same tactics, same formation etc, watching him get exposed and doing nothing about it. It's the manager's job to fit the players into a system that maximize the players' capabilities and make sure the players' weaknesses are hidden as much as possible.
  10. He has a point about the mentality thing but on the other hand, you gotta ask, has Sarri done anything to try and change that? For starters, he hasn't created any sort of competition between the players to keep them on their toes, to ensure they perform to the max or otherwise, they're out of the team. No, he keeps selecting the same team no matter how badly they play before and if he keeps doing that, how does he expect the players to be strong mentally, to play at 100% and not fall into the complacency side? He has basically been making the same mistakes we criticized Mourinho and Conte for in the past, sticking with the same under-performing players and same tactics, formations that aren't working. So, it's a tad hypocrite of Sarri to come out and complain about mentality when he keeps making the same mistakes week in week out and expect things to go differently. Also, feels like this mentality factor is a convenient excuse for him to use and not claim any responsibility. Have you noticed how he has always blamed the players' mentality after almost every defeat this season? It's never about his tactics or team selection, it's always about the players. It's straight out of Mourinho's playbook - never their fault, always someone else's. He should look at himself in the mirror and ask whether he is getting the message across to the players properly because it can't be the players' fault only if the same things keep on happening.
  11. Would gladly take Mourinho back if he hadn't gone crap over the last couple of years!
  12. Rotate? Sarri be like... Doubt we would be surprised one bit if Sarri ends up fielding the same old starting XI here!

  14. Okay putting aside Sarri's fondness of Jorginho, can we at least cut the latter some slack? 1. This is Jorginho's first season in English football and before anyone brings up his fee, it's still a whole different league and environment and it's quite likely that he is still adjusting to the demands here. 2. Coming into a side that's ends up struggling can't be easy for anyone. He hasn't been great, sure, but he isn't the main issue or there are other pertinent issues in the squad. 3. Sarri hasn't done Jorginho any favors by constantly playing the same tactics and same formation every week, leaving him exposed and doing nothing about it.
  15. Yeah but all too convenient of an excuse to use after a bad defeat, especially when he has pretended like his tactics, team selections haven't been the issue. It's basically him indirectly saying "It's not my fault, it's theirs". Straight out of Mourinho's playbook.
  16. Not saying Jorginho has been great but Sarri hasn't done him any favors either by constantly playing the same rigid shit every week and leaving him exposed and not doing anything about it.
  17. Anyone noticed that Sarri has been low-key diverting the blame all season? Every time we lose a game, he always talks about the players' poor mentality, attitude and nothing about what he did etc. If it had been Mourinho or Conte...
