  1. For starters, Lampard has talked about merit. So if somebody's form tails off, then one would expect Lampard to look at alternatives in the squad. And furthermore, one would expect Pulisic to get better with time. So, who's to say he won't nail down a starting XI spot sometime soon or sometime down the line?
  2. Not getting ahead of ourselves here but we have a 5-point gap on Spurs and 8 on United (it'll stay 8 if they lose tomorrow) after today's win. And Spurs go to Liverpool next weekend, although we'll be at Burnley.
  3. Don't think I've necessarily disagreed with that point in particular but am too tired to go through this again...
  4. Supersub pretty much will be his best role right now. Keep this up and he'll certainly force Lampard's hands.
  5. Bit unfair to even start to compare those 2, no? The point is when we're attacking, you want the players to play with pace, move the ball quickly etc, especially against defensive teams. CHO was doing that but Alonso wasn't. He's already slow to begin with but when he's not on it as well, it just becomes painful to watch.
  6. Another sub appearance, another promising performance. Should have scored as well but overall, it should help boost his confidence.
  7. He definitely struggles in a 4, over when he has more freedom as a wing back Even in a back 3, his attacking play can be sluggish. Just look at the contrast between CHO and Alonso when attacking. Night and day.
  8. Tomori is still young and a drop off in form is to be expected but he has been a bit of a mess recently. Has looked defensively sluggish and turned into Zouma when on the ball. Needs to pick it up again.
  9. For most of today's game, Alonso showed why he shouldn't be starting. Ponderous and so slow to get onto any passes into space. But of course, he came up with the winner...
  10. Alonso was poor for most of the game and I criticized him but of course naturally, he came up with the winner. 🤷‍♂️ Not the best performance but nice to know we can still get a result, especially against defensive teams.
  11. Have only conceded 1 goal from set-piece in last 5 games.
  12. Alonso has been so painful to watch today.
  13. For the love of god, hope we do not buy English players for the sake of it!

  16. Kante is likable character but if Deschamps needed him around to keep the France squad atmosphere good...then christ, maybe he's got a bigger issue! He trained away from the main squad before the Turkey game. If they won't play an INJURED player, then why didn't they just release him? Could have returned a few days earlier and worked with the club physios to get him back fit rather than wasting time with France knowing he's injured and won't be playing. And it wasn't like France were short on numbers either.
  17. Lampard acknowledged Deschamps' comments on Giroud but he is upset over France's treatment of Kante after discovering he got injured at Iceland. It's one thing to joke over the playing time of a player but it's another to not take a player's injury seriously. We don't know what the club medics and France's discussed obviously but why was Kante not released after he picked up the injury against Iceland? What was the point of having him on the bench against Turkey? That is what Lampard's not happy about.
  18. Out for 2 weeks or so with a hamstring injury.
  19. Kante not fit for this match due to groin injury. Christensen got a hamstring injury and will be out for 2 weeks. Rudiger not fit yet. Kovacic and Barkley available.
  20. Lampard's pre-match presser will be at 1:30pm UK time today. Should know more about the players' fitness come then...
