De Gea seems to be on a decline. Maguire is overrated. McTominay is average. And players like Pogba doesn't seem to want to be at the club, Martial blows hot and cold, James is so-so. They have A LOT of deadwoods in their squad - Shaw, Jones, Young, Fred, Matic, Pereira, Mata, Lingard etc. United almost have to buy an entire new squad to get back to challenging at the top. United have thrown a lot of money in recent years and it's gotten them nowhere, not when people like Ed Woodward is running the club basically. Pochettino would be better off biding his time and wait for opportunities elsewhere. The Bayern job still not filled permanently, Tuchel and Guardiola could leave PSG and Man City respectively in the summer, Zidane is always a few bad results away from facing the sack at Real Madrid etc.

Would Pochettino even want the United job at this point? Their squad is a huge mess and their board are even worse! Yes, United have the name and money but if Pochettino goes there, it'll be another rebuilding job for him, arguably even bigger than the one he oversaw at Spurs. He might just prefer to go to a club where the structure is already there and it allows him to win from the get-go.

We didn't play well in the League Cup meeting but we didn't concede much either. They won because they scored a penalty and a worldie from a free kick. That was it.

That was the 1st game of the season, so I will begrudgingly give that a mini pass, as stupid as the defeat was. More importantly, we need to set the record straight when they come to the Bridge!

Excluding us, they beat Spurs and City in the league, drew with Arsenal and Liverpool, lost to Arsenal. It still doesn't excuse our losses against them though, when they have been so poor. In fact, we haven't even beaten Solskjaer's United yet (D1 L3)!

We signed Drinkwater when he was only 27, different to Luiz who was 29 when he came back and he signed only a 3-year deal.
