  1. Just prepare for disappointment fellas...
  2. Maybe we should tell Sancho to stay at Dortmund for one more year and we'll come get him in 2021, when he would have only one year left on his contract and we can get him on a cheaper price.
  3. How so? Get a good striker, we then wouldn't have to worry about Abraham getting injured and he would provide him a healthy competition. Get a good LB and then we don't have to play Azpi there anymore and can ditch one of Emerson/Alonso. 30-50 million is not going to be enough to sign a striker from one of Europe's top 5 leagues. If selling all the duds in one go were easy, we would have done so by now. Chances are we might sell 1-2 or 2-3 and we'll loan the rest out...again. You are crazy. BATSHIT CRAZY.
  4. That's overstating it. This is no Hazard situation, IMO. And so what if Sancho goes to a rival? It might be painful for some to take it but he's not the only good player out there. I don't necessarily disagree but you never know with Liverpool. City went on their ridiculous consistency for 2 seasons straight and they have fallen off a cliff this season. May well happen with Liverpool next season. Plus, it's also about setting up the foundation for the title challenge, whether it's a year early or not. If we don't sign a ST, LB, GK and even CB this summer, then I'm pretty sure we would be sitting here and complaining about the same things we have been complaining next season. Tactics can only hide the weaknesses of average players for so long.
  5. Either that is what Alaba really wants or he's saying that to get a bigger money contract from Bayern.
  6. That is very un-Tomo of you. Why does it have to be about too early to challenge for the title? Even if we don't get close to Liverpool (or Man City for that matter) next season, it's still vital that we show progression, that we can cement ourselves as the one of the best 3 teams in the England, that we don't get involved in another scrap for the Top 4. What's the point if we bomb our budget on Sancho, don't have enough money to fix our problems (e.g. ST, LB, GK) and still be inconsistent next year? Sancho isn't going to solve those problems. Yes, he will provide assists and goals here and there but our main issue this season have been converting chances and giving stupid goals away. I get that Sancho is wow and all but I don't get why people want us to be like Arsenal - spend big money (probably 3/4 of our budget) on someone we don't necessarily need right now (especially after signing Ziyech) rather than spend the money on players that will help address the problems in the squad.
  7. They basically quoted France Football...
  8. Easier said than done. If City were really to be found guilty of cheating the system and banned from Europe for 2 seasons, would the players really want to continue playing for them, for a club with tarnished reputation? Do the best players really want to waste 2 years of their career not being able to challenge for the Champions League trophy? Plus if City were banned from Europe, they would stand to lose about 300 million across 2 seasons and without that CL money, they would need to cut back on their expenditure on players (e.g. wages, bonuses) as Gab Marcotti explained it here from 8:55 onwards.
  9. Ziyech can play in the #10 role but I don't think he is going to be used there permanently. I think he will be rotated between #10 and the RW, depending on the situation/match. IMO, I believe he will be used more on the RW, where he can cut inside and link with others and allow James to overlap. Plus given Mount seems to be key figure for Lampard, I don't think he's just going to be left aside, whatever fans think of him. And also, I highly doubt the 4-2-3-1 will be our default setup because otherwise, having a midfield options of Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek, Gilmour, Gallagher and even Barkley is overkill.
  10. Maybe. Maybe not. Could be BS to generate clicks. I still remember when we were endlessly linked with Hulk in the early 2010s but nothing materialized in the end.
  11. You are right about the playing style of teams in the Bundesliga but 1 v 1, more space or not, you still need a striker who puts away chances when they come, who can keep their composure in front of goal etc. If it was easy, every Tom, Dick and Harry would be top of the goalscoring charts. We currently have a main striker who has struggled to convert 1 v 1 chances this season and most other times, failed to put away the easy opportunities inside the box. Goal #1 & #2 in the video above and this below are examples of other kind of goals Werner can score.
  12. I believe playing in tight spaces is something Werner is striving to improve on and let's not forget, he's still only 23 years old (turns 24 next month). So, there is still plenty of room for him to grow. And there are slight differences in the leagues, games played, appearances etc but Werner's conversion rate puts him 4th among the notable PL scorers this season: Vardy - 35% Aguero - 34% Ings - 31.25% Werner - 27% Rashford - 23% Salah - 22.5% Abraham - 22% Mane - 23.5%
  13. It might be worth to test the waters by going for some of City's players. Aguero, De Bruyne, B Silva, Sterling, Sane, Ederson anyone?
  14. No, not if he's going to cost us our entire transfer budget and cost us in going for our other prime transfer targets.
  15. No mention of when the punishment will be handed out and how many points City will be docked, if City were to be found guilty.
