  1. For starters, Atalanta certainly have better finishers than we do (as can be seen in the number of goals they've scored this season). They had 11 shots, 5 on target and scored 4. Valencia had 18 shots, 4 on target but scored just 1. And Valencia certainly had good clear chances last night.
  2. Yeah, I know... ...But first with Ampadu and now Werner. Are you on a pointing mistake spree here?
  3. He took Mane off at HT because he was worried Atletico were going to get him sent off, he was already on a yellow. And subbing Salah off in the 72nd minute is hardly considered early.
  4. Maybe but Liverpool have been coasting up there in the league for months and yet, Klopp has still rotated his team heavily for the FA Cup games. We shall see whether he changes course now and rest players in the upcoming Premier League games but at the same time, I'm sure he sees the Champions League far more valuable than the FA Cup and he might not risk his first team players getting injured 1 week before their return leg.
  5. Already speaking like he's gonna join Liverpool...
  6. Impressive performance. Only 19 but continues to play like a seasoned, experienced player.
  7. Our stupid flaws aside, how is that teams always get big chances against our rivals and miss them but when our opponents get them, they always convert them?!
  8. I get that the prevailing expectation of the outcome is we'll lose this (not without good reasons) but are you ever gonna be positive about Chelsea? If we lose this, you're gonna come here and rant. If we win this, you're gonna call it a fluke. If we are to somehow get our season back on track, it has to start from somewhere, right?
  9. He didn't play. No mention as to why he was pulled out from it.
  10. If Burnley had gone on to lose to United and Leicester, would you be saying this? Don't want to sound like I take things for granted but it was Burnley. A good performance and result should have been expected. They had lost 6 of their 8 league games prior to that game. Never mind the big teams, if it was Wolves, Sheffield United or Leicester, I would agree with you. But it was Burnley and it's clutching at straws to even mention it. So, one player who created 4 good chances is considered okay against 10 men for over an hour? I remember CHO did well in the first half but then faded away in the second.
  11. One point that I think is rarely mentioned is that whether Lampard has surrounded himself with the right coaching staff. Jody Morris, Joe Edwards etc are good at what they do but they are still inexperienced at the highest level and that coupled with Lampard's own inexperience feels like a recipe for disaster, and they all feel like his people. There's no one experienced to maybe provide some sort of guidance or advice in these tough period.
  12. Liverpool's post-match reaction last night has been nothing short of embarrassing.
  13. It might sound like a cliche but it's not easy to win away from home in Europe. Guardiola, who is lauded as the best manager in the world for example, has a pretty dodgy away record when it comes to the CL knockout stage. I can't remember the exact numbers but he has rarely won the away games. Has always depended on the home leg to get the job done.
  14. Precisely why I said "Unless we continue to regress and show no sign of improvement". If we somehow rediscover our form again but just miss out on the Top 4, then what's the point of sacking him then? Might as well let Lampard continue what he started. If we continue to regress and miss out on Top 4, then yeah, you could make a case of sacking him then and there. If the club are gonna sack Lampard simply because we miss out on the Top 4, then they are idiots. If they are really worried about finishing in the Top 4, they might as well just sack him now.
  15. When even Steve Nicol and Craig Burley are talking sense...
  16. Unless we continue to regress and show no sign of improvement, what would be the point of sacking Lampard if we miss out on the Top 4? If the club are really worried about not finishing in the Top 4, they might as well just pull the trigger now and be done with it. Otherwise, we're better off continuing what we started (assuming we stop spiraling out of control).
  17. So, Liverpool lost their CL 1st leg against Atletico, which means Klopp likely won't risk his 1st team players at the Bridge, 1 week before their return leg. Probably won't matter at all but yeah...
