  1. They should be blaming Hasan Salihamidzic instead really. He was the one who decided to pull the plug on the Werner deal last summer, wasn't he?
  2. The Bayern US account seems fine. Not sure about the EN one.
  3. The German clubs like to banter on Twitter. Can't mess with them.
  4. Okay okay, steady now. IF this goes bust, I'm gonna be the first one to go jump off a building.

  11. IT'S OFFICIAL! https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2020/06/18/timo-werner-transfer-agreed Chelsea Football Club has reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Timo Werner. The 24-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Blues, and will remain at the German club for the rest of the Bundesliga season. He will link up with his new team-mates in July, subject to passing a medical examination. One of the most feared young strikers in Europe, Werner is renowned for his pace, movement, link-up play and finishing ability. At Leipzig he has most often been deployed in a front two, but he can also play out wide in a front three or as the central striker. He is currently enjoying the most profitable season of his career yet, having already scored 32 goals and registered 13 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions. After finding the net again against Fortuna Dusseldorf last night, he has two games remaining this season to improve on those numbers. Werner said: β€˜I am delighted to be signing for Chelsea, it is a very proud moment for me to be joining this great club. I of course want to thank RB Leipzig, the club and the fans, for four fantastic years. You will forever be in my heart. I look forward to next season with my new team-mates, my new manager and of course the Chelsea fans. Together we have a very successful future ahead of us.’ Marina Granovskaia added: 'We are very excited that Timo Werner has chosen to join Chelsea. He is a player who was coveted all over Europe and it is no surprise, he has that rare mix of being young and exciting and yet established and proven. We can’t wait to have Timo on board, but until then we wish him and RB Leipzig all the best for the rest of this season.'
  12. Costs less than 50 million pounds it seems! https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/06/18/chelsea-complete-475m-signing-timo-werner/ Chelsea have completed the signing of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner for Β£47.5million. Werner will join the Blues on a five-year contract worth just over Β£170,000-a-week and will move to England at the end of the Bundelsiga season. The 24-year-old becomes Chelsea’s second signing ahead of next campaign after Hakim Ziyech, with the club also chasing Bayer Leverkusen winger Kai Havertz and Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell. Werner was convinced to join Chelsea by head coach Frank Lampard after he and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech made a pre-lockdown trip to speak with the player, his agent and his family. Werner has informed Leipzig that he does not want to play in the delayed Champions League for them in August so that he can move to Chelsea as soon as possible and be ready for next season. His arrival will coincide with the departure of Pedro Rodriguez, who has agreed a free transfer move to Italian club Roma.
  13. I have not looked and compared the fixtures back then and now but I'd wager that the football calendar these days is a lot more hectic or a lot worse than back then. Even in a normal season, a team can be playing every 3-4 days once the season really gets going and the team go far in every competition. Players can barely catch a breather and when you add in international fixtures, it becomes even worse. Don't forget that the European Championship is taking place next year and if the new season is gonna start in mid-September, the season is gonna be really crammed since it will have to end by May. You will have the Premier League + Champions League/Europa League + League Cup + FA Cup + International matches to manage. There will likely be no mini winter-break next season because of this but even then, the workload/amount of fixtures is gonna be HELL!
  14. They should have secured it by now but they have dropped silly points at home against Hertha, Paderborn, Freiburg, Dusseldorf since the restart...
