  1. Funny thing about this kind of view is that if Milan fans come here and read about Bakayoko, they will see we have said he's shit and all that and be astounded that they are gonna buy him but when he plays for Milan, he actually looks a decent player and not as shit as we've made him out to be, which is interesting. At this point, I don't know why people are still moaning endlessly over this deal. It looks a done deal and am just interested to see how he - and the other signings - will do when the season starts.
  2. But what IF Milan don't cave in and just drop the interest?
  3. As well as Reguilon has done well overall this season, one thing that hasn't been said is that 2019/20 is pretty much his first full, proper season in top flight football. Never mind adapting to the Premier League, we still do not know if he's really the real deal. Lots of players have done well in their first season in top flight football, only to fall off after that. Also, the last few left backs that we have bought from abroad have not turned out too well, despite doing well at their former club - Filipe Luis, Emerson and to an extent Alonso. Maybe the club thought it might be best to go for the safer option in Chilwell - e.g. knowing the league - even if it means spending that a bit more money (that will be offset by a sale anyway). And besides, if we want to get Reguilon and if he continues to do well, we can always go get him considering Alonso will likely be sold at some point, maybe even next summer.
  4. Go read the first 5-10 pages of his thread. It's funny.

  6. THANK YOU! And don't ever leave again, Jype!
  7. This. Even then, don't think they concede many from set pieces.
  8. It still seems to be an issue for many now, with the 50 million.
  9. What is sad is that people constantly moaning, crying and throwing their toys out of the pram over transfer targets. Not everyone is gonna agree on things, sure, but judging by some reactions on, say, Chilwell here, you would think we are signing someone from Fiji as opposed to an England international.
  10. It sure would have been had social media, TC etc existed back then...
  11. Why did you even mention Thiago if you said we don't even have Havertz yet? Anyway, height is just one aspect of defending set pieces. If the players don't have the balls to even defend properly, then there is no point, even if they have the height.
  12. The point is teams like Liverpool don't have that many giants either. Only Gomez, Van Dijk, Alisson and Fabinho are taller than 185 cm. The rest are lower than that and some are even around 175 cm. Man City are also another example of a so called small team in terms of height. Of course in the Premier League, we would need some tall players in the squad but we can't turn our squad into a Tony Pulis side and equally or more importantly, you want players who are physical and don't mind battling it out for the ball. We currently have some tall players in the squad but they can be a bunch of pussies in physical challenges.
  13. Take the keeper out since we don't know who that will be, the average height of the other 10 players is 179.8 cm, which is only 1 cm shorter than Liverpool's usual starting XI, excluding Alisson. And they aren't bad at defending set pieces. If anything I'd worry more about the physicality of that side as opposed to the height.
