  1. By narrative, I meant those outside of United talking about Sancho. It's clear Solskjaer is a clueless manager.
  2. Gotta say, I find this narrative that because Solskjaer is suddenly using the back 3, Sancho doesn't have a place in the system somewhat amusing. Maybe some players are different but Conte and Tuchel turned our wingers/wide players into narrow forwards/no.10s and made it work in the back 3 system. Or even when they aren't playing that way in the back 3 setup, the players would play like wingers and stretch the play while the wing backs are the ones going infield to join the attack etc.
  3. Are Norwich already planning for life back in the Championship? Hiring Lampard would be an interesting appointment but it would also feel like a disaster waiting to happen, if Norwich are serious about trying to stay in the Premier League. Unless somehow Lampard has mastered the art of organizing a defence, what exactly would he bring that Daniel Farke did not? Under Farke, they could barely score a goal and were conceding goals for fun. Maybe Lampard might make them score more goals somehow but can he keep them tight at the back after what we saw at Derby and Chelsea with him? On top of that, he also doesn't have any experience in fighting against relegation and teams around Norwich at the bottom of the league all have experienced managers at the helm.
  4. No need to start calling people names just because they have different views from you.
  5. Was just gonna say the same thing. All good that we're trying to make it work while we're still in the season but the conversation will be a different one altogether next summer. We're already stacked in midfield - even without him - and there's still Gallagher and Gilmour to return.
  6. @LAM09 Since you questioned why Tuchel didn't start Pulisic against Burnley... https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2021/11/07/tuchel-on-monitoring-pulisic-s-national-team-involvement-and-hop ‘Christian still feels a little bit of pain but of course...It’s a matter of managing the pain in his ankle, not a matter of a reinjury or anything like that. It’s just that things are still a bit painful for him.'
  7. West Ham's set piece threat seems more pronounced this season.
  8. Odds on Tuchel playing all our big, tall players when we go to West Ham in a few weeks' time?
  9. But don't think it's wrong to say Arsenal have had a gentle fixture list since those first 3 games. They have Liverpool next after the international break and then Man United two games later.
  10. TBF, CHO and Barkley weren't in my consideration when I said that previously. 🤣
  11. The table is looking silly right now with Arsenal not far away from the top and others in the top 4...
  12. Yes and am sure City and Liverpool fans would complain about their results as well if they miss out by a narrow margin. As frustrating as yesterday's draw was, not sure why people are overreacting (maybe I shouldn't be surprised at all). Before yesterday, we had dropped points in only 2 games - against Liverpool and Man City - and that's not too bad at all, even after adding this Burnley draw. Yesterday was just one of those days. Just take it on the chin and move on and make sure this doesn't happen too often, or at all, for the season. The only "funny" thing is Arsenal are now only 6 points behind us and 3 behind City. They would also be only 2 behind Liverpool if they lose at West Ham.
  13. @MoroccanBlue has already touched on it but I'll say it anyway. It was understandable that Tuchel didn't make any changes before late on. We were playing well but we just weren't taking the chances, something that no one can legislate. No guarantee at all that Pulisic or Mount - who aren't in the best of shape - would have put the chances away had either come on earlier. As it has been said many times, yes, the draw against Burnley was frustrating but shit happens. It was just one of those days, just like we fluked a win at Brentford. What we need to ensure is games like this are kept to a minimum or zero for the season.
  14. Yes, Pulisic came on against Malmo but it was only for the last 15 minutes. But the point is, he's well short of match fitness having barely played in almost 3 months. It's understandable if Tuchel wants to take it slowly with Pulisic and not start him just yet, especially against a side like Burnley. Not sure why you're criticizing Tuchel's selection. The problem yesterday was that we didn't finish the chances rather than not playing well. Had Havertz, CHO, Barkley or one of the CBs converted one extra chance and we won, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The only selection that is perhaps questionable was the inclusion of Barkley but then again, one could argue that Ziyech has been poor, Pulisic is hardly match fit while Mount is being affected by infection and thus not at 100%.
  15. But Pulisic hadn't played at all since mid August while Tuchel already indicated on Friday that Mount won't be able to play much. Today's game really had nothing to do with them not playing.
  16. Precisely why I'm not bothered about all this title challenge talk right now. Only 11 games in and every team will have their shit day. Let's see if we can keep them to minimum in a few weeks/months time. But Tuchel also acknowledged that we were unlucky today, just like we were lucky at Brentford.
  17. Don't need to be so dramatic. Shit happens. We were laughing this time last weekend when Liverpool botched a 2-0 lead against Brighton while City lost at home to Palace. Am waiting to see if we will still be up there come February or March. Too early to talk about a title challenge now, especially after all the stupid false dawns over the last decade!
  18. We were unlucky not to win today, just as we were lucky to win at Brentford.
  19. At this point, I think it's a case that Tuchel likes to rotate - as he did at Dortmund, PSG etc - more than anything else, especially with so many players in the squad like Guardiola at City.
  20. Norwich have sacked Daniel Farke while Solskjaer is still hanging around.
  21. You are acting as if City and Liverpool haven't botched it against the smaller teams.
  22. It's not exactly clear cut, is it? As @Tomo mentioned, it's all good and nice if Lukaku scores but when he doesn't, he's been mostly anonymous and it's not as if he hasn't been "infected" with the 'miss chances' virus this season. If Lukaku had played, would we have had so many shots and chances against Burnley? Maybe he would have gotten a chance and scored today but this isn't a straightforward plug-and-drop situation with Lukaku and you know as much that our attacking play becomes wholly different when he is leading the line. We created enough chances today as it was and if we had put one extra chance away, we wouldn't be having this conversation, just like no one had it after we strolled past Malmo, Norwich and Newcastle.
