  1. Fair sentiment but Klopp had achieved success and had a track record of building a successful team over time back in Germany before going to Liverpool. Hence, there was likely the trust by their board that he will get things right eventually when he joined them. But with Lampard? He hasn't had the same or even similar achievement before managing us. So, we have nothing whatsoever to fall back on and have to judge him and his work based on what he's doing right now. He is still a relatively inexperienced manager and he's learning on the go. Whether it's fair or not on him, we're basically being "forced" to judge him based on his current work because he hasn't done anything of such in the past. I don't think Lampard has failed in this job but I also don't think he has fully convinced yet. Moreover, giving a manager time is one thing but we also do not want to give it for the sake of it. Otherwise, we could easily end up with a situation like Solskjaer at Man United, where he has been there for like 2 years and they are still yo-yoing between being good and bad on a regular basis.
  2. That's assuming the others don't win theirs this weekend.
  3. I know we've talked about this before but I really don't know why you count their other game in hand now when we don't know when they will play it. For all we know, that game could be meaningless in the context of the title race or even the top 4 by the time they play it.
  4. 6 points off Liverpool now but only 3 behind Spurs in 2nd.
  5. Better them than Spurs, if it's not going to be us!
  6. Just realized that the teams around us this weekend also have tough fixtures... Palace v Liverpool Southampton v Man City Everton v Arsenal Spurs v Leicester Man United v Leeds
  7. Crashed out of Europe last week but now just 1 point off the top of the table after 5 straight wins in Serie A.
  8. By the way, people complained a lot about us dumping crosses into the box, just watched how many times have Liverpool done that in this game alone...
  9. Imagine asking Chelsea fans to support Spurs...
  10. Spurs in that 1st half: 21% possession 1 shot 1 shot on target 1 goal
  11. There's that bit of luck we didn't have against Spurs...
  12. Everton 2-0 up at Leicester. That means we're only 2 points off the Top 4....
  13. Long story short, he is rather similar to Ozil.
  14. Arteta has really rung the changes for Arsenal against Southampton...
  15. It depends. Although he actually did build a good, entertaining side at Bolton, he's essentially another Sean Dyche or Tony Pulis. Not sure if the club want Gallagher to be playing that kind of football.
  16. Big Sam to West Brom officially confirmed. Wonder if the club will try to change his loan and move him to another club...
  17. We played 4-3-3 in those games because we at least had the wingers for it. Ziyech was available and even CHO was available. That wasn't the case at Everton, for example, and we ended up shifting Havertz there and he just looked lost. Then at Wolves, Pulisic was available but is only effective on the LW while Werner is not suited to either flanks. We had CHO and Ziyech available at the same time at some point but Lampard did zilch with it. Still decided to stick Werner out wide on the LW anyway. If Lampard really wants to persist with Werner out on the LW, then he needs to look at changing his role because it's clear as hell that he's not a winger. His confidence is probably already shot from being asked to do things that he isn't good at.
