  1. Yeah but does it look like Lampard is getting the best out of them? Even taking the adaptation period etc into account, we should have been able to see glimpses of what they can offer. We have seen that from Werner but then he's not used right tactically while we haven't seen what Havertz can do in this side.
  2. At times, it feels like Lampard doesn't know how to fit all these attacking options into a cohesive system and just making things up as it goes along. We have spent so much over the summer and we have barely even seen the best of Werner and Havertz for example. Does Lampard even know how to get the best out of them? Or did he just buy them because the opportunities presented themselves due to the pandemic?
  3. I seriously have no idea what Lampard is trying to accomplish by doing it. Why didn't we go out and buy an out-and-out winger instead!?
  4. Why are people surprised by a non-winger not doing well when he is asked to do winger things? And am not talking about missing chances.
  5. A performance no different from the one at Everton and Wolves. Only difference is we have the lead at HT.
  6. Shame Fulham didn't win at the weekend.
  7. Might be a 4-2-3-1, unless it's Jorginho at the base of the midfield with Kante further forward. CHO on the bench but no Ziyech.
  8. No Chelsea manager have their lost their first 3 matches against West Ham...
  9. Revising history is a common thing on TC.
  10. The last time we lost 3 league games in a row was back in the 'Mourinho Season', which funnily enough also included a loss to West Ham, but at the start of the run instead. Otherwise, you would have to go all the way back to 1999 for last time we lost 3 consecutive games in the Premier League. Don't think Lampard is too keen to have that record, that's for sure.
  11. What kind of defence is this from Arteta!?
  12. You sure have moved your goalpost, haven't you? First, it was 'we can't win games without Pulisic and Ziyech' or something those lines but now, it's 'don't expect to win without Ziyech and James'. As some people have mentioned before, if Lampard can't find a different way to win games apart from James' crossing and even Ziyech's, then maybe he really isn't the right man. No team who wants to succeed at the highest level can rely only on one way of attacking.
  13. Werner spoke to Sky Germany on his form and position... https://sport.sky.de/fussball/artikel/fussball-timo-werner-exklusiv-im-sky-interview/12167356/34130?q=%2Fa%2F12167356 On Kante, who has made the biggest impression on him... On what we can achieve this season...
  14. We have won and lost games with and without Ziyech and James before. So, I don't know where this "don't expect to win this without Ziyech and James" has come from. It's only two players out, not 20. If we can't win games when 1 or 2 first team players are out, then Lampard is in big trouble and maybe he isn't the right man. The club didn't spend all that money in the summer to build a strong team and have a decent squad depth, to having lower expectations when 1-2 players are out.
  15. Well, if our wingers are out injured again, then a back 3 could be a possibility.
  16. If we don't get back to winning ways fast and win the next few matches, then I think his job will be on the line. Lampard may say he needs time, which is true, but at the same time, we can't be spending all the money in the summer and then be languishing in mid-table, be behind even the likes of Everton, Leicester, Southampton, Aston Villa!
  17. https://theathletic.com/news/chelsea-reece-james-injury-latest/OZDjI2h8VbcS Latest from The Athletic says James doesn't need to undergo surgery, after his scans. Will be rested for a few games at least.
  18. Leicester and Man United play each other next weekend by the way.
  19. I don't think they'll be as consistent as last season but whether others can take advantage or not is another matter.
  20. And just like that, Liverpool have a 4-point gap at the top and 6 arguably over the nearest realistic challengers.
  21. Leicester this season: W 5-2 Man City W 1-0 Arsenal W 2-0 Spurs All away from home...
