You know why Torres was successful at Liverpool? He was the only one with attacking skill. They had Gerrard and Xabi in the midfield but outside of that he was on an island and could do what he wanted and wouldn't be crucified for it since he had no support which led to more runs, more shots, more goals. That is not possible at Chelsea. I would have hoped by now he would have adjusted to having talent around him and he has had some crucial assists and has benefitted from defenses paying attention to other attcking players. Hopefully he can build on his current chemistry with Mata and the addition of Hazard will only help. Hulk, not sure if he will make things better or worse IMO. Either way, Torres needs to have a manager that is confident in him helping the team win whether he is supplying goals or supplying other players.

Hulk is such an odd player. He plays wide but has the physic and prowless of a Drogba when he is alone up front. Not sure how he fits into the mix. Lets get a manager who has a plan before we continue to spend. Hazard was a brilliant signing and was a must. It allows Hazard to play LW and Mata LM or vice versa. Mata lacks the burst in my opinion to play up front unless it is as a substitution role. I'd hate to see Sturridge leave because there is no way we can keep having him play 2nd fiddle to Torres or Hulk on the RW. I'm happy with saving the money and keeping Sturridge in the XI but Hulk brings something to the pitch that not many players have in the EPL. If we let Sturridge go we all know he will burn us each time we play him.

RDM's biggest task at hand now. Who to start on May 19th. Can't be happy with just being in the Finals. This club has been throught too much this year to not finish the job.

Has anyone thought about David Moyes might be able to handle the ego's in the locker room?

I think Roman has realized what he had when Jose was at the helm and is going to let Jose buy the groceries and cook the dinner himself. This carousel needs to stop and unfortunately, the reoccuring theme is the lack of respect for AVB. Too big of a job too soon. Maybe he will be able to manage personalities like this in 5-8 years, but not right now. I understand that no matter who the manager is, we still have the players we have but what has AVB done that is overly impressive. He swooped in and got Mata. Lukaku and KDB already wanted to make the move to CFC. Thibaut is starting to settle in at Athletico but was AVB completely responsible for the signing? I'm not sold on his ability to set the line up, make the right substitution let alone control a mind like David Luiz and teach him how to play. We will be lucky to make the top 4. Arsenal is playing their best football of the year right now and it doesn't look like we can catch them unless these players play for the crest and not the check. It just seems that every decision he is forced to make, he makes it harder than it needs to be and over thinks what needs to be done. I understand the idea to sit the older players like Drogba, Terry, Cole, Lampard, etc at some point in the season but we don't have any fringe players that are good enough to crack the top 11 that need more experience. He lost control of the team when he took Sturridge off vs Manchester United. At that point, he took his foot off the gas pedal of the entire squad and sat back and waited for the game to come to him rather than attacking it.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I think the domino that will make or break Tottenham/Hazard is Harry. If he takes the England job, you can kiss Modric and/or Bale goodbye. Maybe they use those funds to make a massive bid for Hazard but I still see him going for more than 40 million this summer. Well out of Tottenham's budget unless Modric or Bale are sold. If Harry stays, Tottenham have a much better chance at getting him compared to if he were gone. I think Hazard is just playing the game right now and between him and his agent, just trying to increase the bidding war. My opinion is Harry to England, Hazard goes to United, Bale to Madrid and Modric comes to Chelsea this summer. Lots of domino's falling but hey, I guess that is why I'm on a forum.

I agree with the comment but I think Terry's and Chelsea's reaction to the charges against Terry. AVB seems much more of a players manager rather than Dalglish seems more of a disciplinarian. He isn't affraid to call out Andy Carroll, Suarez, or anyone else on the squad rather than AVB having support for his players in trouble or out of form i.e. Torres and Terry. Regardless, Suarez is a quality player but isn't worth the headache to bring him in. Let him piss everyone off while at LIverpool and he can eventually head back to the Dutch League

Arsenal are in such mess. Wenger potentially gone. Kronke potentially buying another sporting team (LA Dodgers), Usmanov still trying to become majority owner, and this doesn't even include the dram with the players, RVP wanting out, an aging defense, and finding a reliable keeper. At the rate, Newcastle and Liverpool will be passing them in the table.

Eden price tag this summer will surpass 40 million.

I believe that if we are able to secure Moura, we might be able to win out the Neymar saga. Too many Brazilians in my opinion but at least Ramires has a different demenor about his style. Ramires, Luiz, Piazon, possibly Willian and maybe Moura and/or Neymar? Blue is the color but we might have to add some green and yellow to the kits by 2013 if we add anymore Brazilians. Pretty scary midfield and strikers if Oriel continues his progress and Luiz and learn some control. If Luiz could ever learn to play a position and know his role to the team, he would be a sick defensive midfielder similar to the way Oriel and Mikel have been played.

I agree with Torres up top alone. He scored all his goals at Liverpool with nothing but Gerrard and Xabi in the midfield. I don't think he knows how to play up to his ability with others playing along side him rather than feeding him. Willian, Mata, and Sturridge in the midfield has an incredible pace about it and the ability to distribute the ball to Torres or any of the other attacking midfielders from any point.

I love the talent of Willian and the potential of him with Mata is just scary but we need to start thinking about life after Lampard. Is Josh going to be able to be that solid midfielder who can score 10 or more as well as make that impossible pass? Can Essien stay healthy long enough to make a difference in the midfield? Willian would be an excellent addition but like everyone outside of Cahill that Chelsea are in talks with, are cup tied already too. I'm all for the Willian signing because I don't think Hazard will be with Chelsea when the window opens in the summer. I think his agent is just trying to gas up the price. Remember when Neymar was just be quoted at 40 mill? Seems like a steal now that Hazard will likely go for more that 40 mill.

I really just haven't seen the talent that demands such a high fee. Roman needs to start considering the FFP rules. City is already screwed, we don't want to have finally built our Mona Lisa and not be able to show it off on the biggest stage.

I love the potential signing of Cahill. He has immense talent on both sides of the ball and would mold well with Terry and be able to keep the rest of the back 4 well rested. My question is whats the plan for Luiz then. Is he eventually going to be in a John Obi-Mikel kinda role if he can ever control his aggression?

I'm not sure if it's just me being an American and the only descent player we have is Clint blinding me but how has the kid stayed at Fulham for so long?! Kids got loads of talent and finds a way to get the job done with nothing around him. I know I'll probably be blasted on the forum for this but man he would be a solid piece to the Chelsea puzzle. I know he turns 29 in 2012 but just think of how good he would be if he had some talent around him.
