  1. He can't cross a ball or beat a man, Why on gods earth is he starting on our right wing? Last season and the season before he got away with it because when we gave him the ball he was always in space and others did the hard work for him. But this season when we need him to step up he hasn't. He slows that the play so much, Sturridge is a far better player.
  2. Sturridge injects much more pace into our buildup play, He looks lively, Hope he starts midweek.
  3. It could be worse, could be Liverpool!
  4. Tbf, If ya offered us a draw at 80 mins you would have taken it, Still disapointing though.
  5. Carlo Ancelotti has made his decision on who will replace suspended Branislav Ivanovic in central defence against Aston Villa and he has opted for youth. Nineteen-year-old Jeffrey Bruma will be given that position on the pitch ahead of other options such as Paulo Ferreira or Michael Essien. 'It is the time that we can use Bruma,' Ancelotti confirmed, speaking to Chelsea TV at Cobham on Friday. 'He is a young player who is a very good defender. He has a lot of ability, he has played some games and in this time he is improving. He works very closely with John Terry, Ivanovic and Alex and it is the time to put him in. I am sure that he will do his best.' Sunday's match will be the Dutch defender's first start in the Barclays Premier League. He has begun one match in the Champions League and one in the Carling Cup and made six appearances as a sub. In the Carling Cup game against Newcastle this season, John Terry and Alex shared a half apiece as his partner at the back. Against Zilina in the Champions League it was Ivanovic. On Sunday he will line up alongside the captain. 'For Bruma it will be fantastic support to have Terry alongside,' noted Ancelotti, 'but he trained very well, he knows how he has to move but with John Terry it will be easier to move.' There are no new injuries to the squad but John Obi Mikel, who missed the Bolton game, will not be available. He suffered a knee ligament strain against Arsenal and is expected to be out for approximately three weeks. Daniel Sturridge, who was absent from the Arsenal and Bolton games with a knee injury, is back in training. Aston Villa have Emile Heskey and Ashley Young returning from injury but Luke Young remains out. 'The last two weeks when we were able to train was very good and the players rested very well from the games,' said Ancelotti. 'We have to beat Aston Villa because we have to confirm the performance in the second half against Bolton. Obviously we have to improve our place in the table and we are not sure everything is okay now, we have to confirm this with a good performance to start the new year with confidence. 'Aston Villa are in trouble now and we have to pay a lot of attention because every game for them will be important. They can use maybe the game against us to move on and for this reason we have to pay attention because they will use a lot of energy for this game.' Defending and attacking set-pieces are important parts of the game for any side looking to climb the table. Ancelotti is happy with the way we have dealt with opposition free-kicks and corners. Only West Ham have found our net that way in the league, but he is hoping to see his team score more in the coming months, especially from corners where early season success has dropped away. Ivanovic against Moscow in early November was the most recent one scored. 'On set pieces this season we have done well. We scored from a set piece against Arsenal, we didn't score maybe from corners but the most important thing is we didn't concede a league goal from set pieces and defensively we did very well. Last season in the first matches we conceded a lot of goals and now we are more in focus. Also now Frank Lampard is back and he is very good at taking corners and maybe we can have more opportunities.'
  6. I didn't reply because I went to sleep, Sorry about that. I'm not Kalou's number one fan, He does make mistakes and is in a poor run of form, But I have faith in him like I do with all of Chelsea's players. You weren't criticizing him towards the end of last season when he was playing well for us. We don't have many pacey players or players with good dribbling abillity, Which is something Kalou offers. I do agree whoever he should be used more as an impact player of the bench rather than a starter.
  7. People seem to forget his hattrick against Stoke last season, In 35 apperances he got 12 goals, isn't bad for a player who is a sub, 2 goals and an assit coming off the bench against Wigan this year, That really aren't the stats that a shite player has tbf.
  8. Cech Bosingwa - Essien - Terry - Cole Ramires - Mikel - Lampard Sturridge - Drogba - Malouda
  9. Why not knock Stamford Bridge and build a stadium in its site? We could play in Twickenham or The Olympic Stadiium in the meantime.
  10. 2011, The year we win the Champions League!
  11. Midweek games come good for us once again, Our last win was a Wednesday night game against Fulham, Where Essien ran supreme, Tonight, another midweek game and we finally got a long overdue win. We were being written off left right and centre, Still are by Alan Hansen on Match of the Day, But one thing that many people are blaming for us 'not being in contention' is the strength of our bench, Roman letting the likes of Ballack, Deco, Joe Cole and Belleti going while not really replacing them, Yossi Benayoun out with a longterm injury and we had to relay on youth. One thing that people had been criticizing Chelsea for, When we do it, Its the end of our title chances. People are now expecting us to buy big in January, Which would see the end of our youth being given places on the bench. Maybe it was anger from Mr. Hansen that everyone is now talking about Liverpool's bad form since we won tonight, Or Jealousy as his beloved are midtable and seem to have a manager out of his debth, But his comments about us we're laughable. He said he couldn't look beyond United because of their starting team, bench, and they know how to win a title. Mr Hansen what are you talking about, Our first team is arguably better than United's, Who seem to be relying on Berbatov which isn't an ideal place to be in, A whiner and diver in Luis Nani, Michael Carrick who I don't feel I have to talk about and a defence in Ferdinand and Vidic who seem to be shadows of there former selves. There bench consisted of players like Obertan, Macheda and Gary Neville, That for me doesn't seem like a bench that you can really rely on. While starting players like Darron Gibson, who can't even make it on the Ireland team, and his main strategy is to injure the opponents by hitting them as hard as he can with the ball, As every time he gets it he just seems to shoot. And the know about of how to win a title? What did we do last year Alan? We went to Old Trafford and bet them in there own ground, But of course Match of the Day and co tried to take that victory off us aswell, Claiming Drogba (which he was) was in an offside poisition, If that goal was ruled out, The game would have been a draw. Its still talked about to this day and really annoys me, That no one seems to mention that Macheda clearly handballed it during his goal. But we don't know how to win it, Mr Hansen is AGAIN forgetting that we then, If winning at Old Trafford wasn't enough, went to Anfield and won there, Then demolished Wigan 8-0 to win the title. So Mr. Hansen it would seem again that you my friend are talking shite, But enjoy the European Nights at Liverpool next season, They'll be consisting of Watching Ourselves, United, Arsenal and City or Spurs I'd imagine.
  12. 4 points off United, and people said we were out of the title race? Get in Chels!
  13. I'm not, Its just stupid to suggest that in a must win game we throw in a youngster that hasn't played for the senior squad this year! Were not going to get through this crisis with young players, Kakuta hasn't been that good when he's played this season, He was alright against Arsenal and people here are expecting Carlo to throw him into the deep end and for him to produce the goods. Saying that Kakuta will probably start this game imo but give him time.
  14. How about we start the rest of the under 18s while were at it?
  15. United drop points tonight, If we win we won't be THAT far behind.
  16. Must win game, mind we've ahead a few of them in the last 2 months.
  17. If Blackpool win today (there 1-0 up as I type this) They'll be 4 points away from us. Embarrasment.
  18. David Luiz, Seamie Coleman, Schwensisteger, Edin Dzeko. If only.
  19. Get in Ivanovic, game back on now.
