Agree on Drogba but recent performances from Torres have however been good enough for him to start too and seeing as he's not the one scoring those important goals then maybe he should be seriously considered for a role on the wings, at least for now. His crossing and passing abilities are among the best in Chelsea's squad at the moment and he spends most of his time on either left or right wing anyways so why not play him there and give Drogba his much-deserved place as the striker?
-
If his current wages weren't so high (more than Mata I think) I'd certainly give him a new deal in the summer. Even though he may not be the most talented of players and occasionally misses easy goal-scoring chances, he always gives everything he's got for the team and usually doesn't complain about the lack of game time. Not all of our current players play with such passion and that's why I find it hard to dislike Kalou even when he plays badly. And of course like today's match he scores some important goals every now and again.
-
Not exactly what I had in mind.
-
Shocking to see that he did less than Mata (12.41km, more than any other player on the pitch) or even Torres (11.45km). I guess our little Brazilian just knows how to pick his runs.

Paulo > Bosingwa anytime.
-
Maybe the sacking of AVB has affected him more than other players? Hasn't been the same since he left. Could be tired too. Or a bit of both those things.
-
Luiz was class today. Easily MOTM but not holding my breath that his good performances get recognized by those who criticize him all the time when he makes one or two silly mistakes. Huge performances from Ramires and Cech too. Would be nice to see how much distance Ramires covered today, he was all over the pitch all the time.
-
Ramires on the right wing is vital defensively because he covered a lot for Ferreira whose legs just aren't what they used to be 8 years ago. Perhaps Sturridge could come in on the left for Kalou who did nothing right offensively in the first half and gave away a stupid foul right on the edge of the box.
-
If Torres could improve on his shooting today I'm confident he will score.
-
Still dreaming about his fluke goal against Birmingham and thinks he can do it again.
-
Ramires is one fast motherfucker that has to be said.
-
RDM on drugs or something? No other way to explain that XI. Thumbs up for Ferreira over Bosingwa though but I was hoping for Ivanovic because they told us yesterday he would be fit for this game.
-
My hands are shaking already and kick-off is still two long hours away. :cfc:
-
Ranieri is available now
-
This might work fine in Football Manager but sadly for us it is much harder do it in real life.
-
Interesting to see whether RDM sticks with Cahill/Terry partnership for this match or if Luiz gets to start against his former club. Mata could probably sit out some of the remaining league matches so he's at at his best for more important games in the CL and FA Cup. It's not like there's anything left to play for in the league because 4th place is nearly lost already.
-
Can't wait for the season to end. Remind me again, why was AVB sacked for this shit?
-
-----------Drogba-------------- Kalou-----Mata-----Sturridge -------Mikel---Lampard------- Cole--Terry--Cahill---Luiz -------------Cech--------------- Three points is a must if we are to beat spurs for the 4th place. Ivanovic is most likely out and would hate to see Bosingwa tomorrow but then there's Benfica on Tuesday so playing all of Terry, Cahill and Luiz is a big risk. Perhaps Torres could start too so Drogba could be rested for the CL match but Torres was shit against City... Hard decisions for RDM.
-
Torres would most likely have scored even more had Danny been a little bit more of a team player. Just hope he can build on this and continue this form for games to come. Couple of goals against City would do just fine.
-
Hoping for Benfica in the QFs. Nowhere near the hardest of draws and it'd be nice to see Luiz & Ramires face their former club. Then in the semifinals the winner of Marseille/APOEL
-
Happy with that lineup. Let's hope we have a reason to be happy after the match as well.

--------------Sturridge--------------- Kalou---------Mata--------Ramires --------Lampard--Mikel------------- Bertrand--Luiz----Cahill--Ivanovic -----------------Cech------------------

So disappointed. Back to square one and around £40m wasted. Why would any top manager even want to manage Chelsea after this? I can think of only one positive thing from all this and that is Di Matteo taking over for the remainder of the season so at least Benitez ain't coming to mess things up even more. Would rather still have had AVB stay
-
Disgrace of a performance today by Chelsea. Cole, Lampard and a couple other players simply do not care about CFC any more so why should the manager get sacked because of that? Surely the 4th spot could be achieved with a different manager but what then? Another season with these same players under another manager and again the same problems halfway through the season or stick with AVB now and get a proper squad for next season?
