  1. Maduake's directness and driving runs is something I love seeing. Mainly because no other player apart from Kante does it.
  2. It is fun trying to work out what is tactically wrong with us. We clearly have the talent - someone just needs to make these players play together. One thing I find is we never have players play between the lines. Can't link things together.
  3. Come on Vesp. I think we all knew it wasn't going to be easy.
  4. It feels like when you're car is at the service - and they have to keep it longer so they give you a test car to drive around in and its a lot nicer than yours.
  5. Why did he get a yellow? He didn't ask for a penalty...
  6. Sometimes when you're as bad as we are - you can have fun almost as much as when you're crushing it.
  7. Frank's tactics are finally starting to show on the players. Keep him on next year to build on this 1-0 lead.
  8. Okay he scored! Now sell him for 50 million pounds please.
  9. I am once again staying up until midnight in Australia to watch us play some shitty football...
  10. Maduake and Mudryk should start in our 3-1 loss today.
  11. It has been one season... that started like shit and was turbulent on all fronts. People wanted us to turn the ship around overnight. In reality, you put all the pieces in place and give it time. We've attracted some of the top talent in terms of players. There is a reason they are being lured here, and they are being guided by people who know what they're talking about as well. Give it time.
  12. With a squad below: ------------------------- Kepa -------------------------------- Gusto --------Colwill/Badishielle ------ Fofana ------- Chillwell --------- James/Kante -------- ------- Enzo ------------------ Maduake -------------- Havertz ----------------------Mudryk Nkunku We should not be close to relegation and play some pretty nice football. Get a proper number 9 in and even more fun.
  13. Yeah, he is clearly struggling in a room full of stars that are just playing phenomenal. How he is not shining bright like the rest of our squad is astounding. Like DDA said above, he'll probably end up being our best player down the line and make all of you look well stupid. Sitting here and trying to assess players at this point is downright pointless. This team, for as much as people want to belt on about, isn't too far removed in time or personnel from the one that won us the CL final. Clearly it isn't just a player problem, but a mentality, motivation and all round club culture problem at the moment. These players aren't dogshit, nor is Mudryk. It is blatantly obvious from his previous performances pre Cheslea, and even his snippets of brilliance that he is a very, very good player. The club needs to remove the poison. Whatever that may be. A few bad eggs, a lacklustre leader, etc, and things will probably fix themselves a lot quicker than we think.
  14. You can put in a sneaky $1000 bet which will get you $400k back if we get relegated. Might as well get some good out of the bad if it does actually occur... lol
  15. Can we cut the shit with "money used to buy mediocre players"? Everyone on here was gagging for the players we got post Tuchel, and now apparently they suck. Ridiculous really. We made great signings. Clearly - the talent level of the players isn't the issue.
  16. I didn't watch the game, partly due to the fact it was at 4:30am here in Australia, but also due to the lack of respect the club and players show for the badge at this point. Frank himself can sit and look at himself with that team selection. You'd think we were playing prime Barca with the way he setup the team. Conor should never play a minute for this team, yet he is a nailed on starter. Kante on the wings. Brilliant tactics. Just hope we get enough draws from this season that we don't get relegated.
  17. I think Poch is perfect given what we need as a club. A structure, tactics, style of play, and someone the players will listen to. Not only that - he makes younger players better and despite what anyone here will tell you - he wins games. People act as if he doesn't make us a winner, but for the last 5 or 6 years we have been a cup team - who were unlikely winners of the CL. Not saying we didn't deserve it, but no one would have picked us - kinda like how Poch got Tottenham there in 2019. No one would have picked it. He is a lot better than everyone here lets on. He had a worse side at Tottenham, and he averaged the same amount of points in the league as we did during his time with them over his time there. Reality is - every potential pick is a risk at this point. That is due to the fact there has been so much change. Poch knows football, he knows how to manage big personalities, and he knows how to win games. That can't be denied. Get him in, stick with him, and let him make something even if we go through more pain. Tuchel looked horrid, Potter looked horrid, Lamps looks super horrid. If Poch looks horrid for a while, clearly it is the make up of the team - as we can't just keep chopping and changing with no continuity.
  18. Poch did better than Mou and Conte at Spurs. He came closer to winning trophies than they did. Over his time there - they averaged the same amount of points domestically that we did... This team - once we get a number 9 - will be better than any team he has managed at Tottenham. Poch has proven to be able to play attacking football and develop young talent. He has some of the best young talent in the world at his disposal here. I think he can do plenty here - and win trophies.
  19. Having the owner/big boss there completely takes away the power of the manager/coach in charge. Undermines a lot of what is being said. I can see why Tuchel had issue with it. Or at least this is my view. Some may think it provides more power in his words, but to me it softens them as you're less worried about your direct boss, and more so what the big big boss is thinking.
  20. I think our team is packed full of talent. We need a number 9, another CM and a GK (though I don't think our situation is anywhere near as bad as people make out on here). We need to trim the squad and get a manager who will instil tactics.
  21. Poch or Emery for me. Both play pleasing football, and this is a Chelsea forum so naturally we will shit on anything Spurs related, but the fact he got that Spurs team to the CL final is super impressive.
  22. I think most takes in here are massive over reactions. Saying the club is ruined and all that... Don't know about that. Pure hyperbole considering most of the signings we made - everyone was happy about. The club actually bought the players everyone was after. Only thing we don't have is a number 9 and some semblance of stability with a proper manager and tactics. This is the biggest period of change we have ever gone through in the last 20 years. It doesn't happen overnight. I'm actually super impressed at the pieces we have at our disposal. Badi, Enzo, Mudryk, Madu, Nkunku, Fofana and Gusto are all great players with leaps of talent, and we already have the likes of James, Kante, Silva, etc. Kai and Joao are great players too being used not to the fullest. This isn't a poor team based on talent - we just need some guidance. It won't take much for this team to find its feet. It is a mental and tactical thing at this point. We have the pieces to compete - bar the number 9.
  23. Love the guy. Think his comments come from a place of really caring - unlike some that can't be bothered. Gotta put it out there and call a spade a spade.
  24. Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re getting battered in those private behind closed doors games against division 2 sides.
