I think Poch is perfect given what we need as a club. A structure, tactics, style of play, and someone the players will listen to. Not only that - he makes younger players better and despite what anyone here will tell you - he wins games. People act as if he doesn't make us a winner, but for the last 5 or 6 years we have been a cup team - who were unlikely winners of the CL. Not saying we didn't deserve it, but no one would have picked us - kinda like how Poch got Tottenham there in 2019. No one would have picked it. He is a lot better than everyone here lets on. He had a worse side at Tottenham, and he averaged the same amount of points in the league as we did during his time with them over his time there. Reality is - every potential pick is a risk at this point. That is due to the fact there has been so much change. Poch knows football, he knows how to manage big personalities, and he knows how to win games. That can't be denied. Get him in, stick with him, and let him make something even if we go through more pain. Tuchel looked horrid, Potter looked horrid, Lamps looks super horrid. If Poch looks horrid for a while, clearly it is the make up of the team - as we can't just keep chopping and changing with no continuity.

Poch did better than Mou and Conte at Spurs. He came closer to winning trophies than they did. Over his time there - they averaged the same amount of points domestically that we did... This team - once we get a number 9 - will be better than any team he has managed at Tottenham. Poch has proven to be able to play attacking football and develop young talent. He has some of the best young talent in the world at his disposal here. I think he can do plenty here - and win trophies.

Having the owner/big boss there completely takes away the power of the manager/coach in charge. Undermines a lot of what is being said. I can see why Tuchel had issue with it. Or at least this is my view. Some may think it provides more power in his words, but to me it softens them as you're less worried about your direct boss, and more so what the big big boss is thinking.

I think our team is packed full of talent. We need a number 9, another CM and a GK (though I don't think our situation is anywhere near as bad as people make out on here). We need to trim the squad and get a manager who will instil tactics.
-
Poch or Emery for me. Both play pleasing football, and this is a Chelsea forum so naturally we will shit on anything Spurs related, but the fact he got that Spurs team to the CL final is super impressive.

I think most takes in here are massive over reactions. Saying the club is ruined and all that... Don't know about that. Pure hyperbole considering most of the signings we made - everyone was happy about. The club actually bought the players everyone was after. Only thing we don't have is a number 9 and some semblance of stability with a proper manager and tactics. This is the biggest period of change we have ever gone through in the last 20 years. It doesn't happen overnight. I'm actually super impressed at the pieces we have at our disposal. Badi, Enzo, Mudryk, Madu, Nkunku, Fofana and Gusto are all great players with leaps of talent, and we already have the likes of James, Kante, Silva, etc. Kai and Joao are great players too being used not to the fullest. This isn't a poor team based on talent - we just need some guidance. It won't take much for this team to find its feet. It is a mental and tactical thing at this point. We have the pieces to compete - bar the number 9.

I'd be in favour of this.

Love the guy. Think his comments come from a place of really caring - unlike some that can't be bothered. Gotta put it out there and call a spade a spade.
-
Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re getting battered in those private behind closed doors games against division 2 sides.
-
Fuck every single one of those players.
-
Promote youth players and drop every single starter. The lot of them.
-
They should all be suspended without pay. They can’t even win a game.
-
Every single player can leave. Just start again.
-
I actually hate our team.
-
Pulisic coming on…. Instead of mudryk.
-
Was planning a trip to Europe this October and to watch the lads play. I don't even know if I like anyone on this team anymore. Bunch of soft wanks. No grit.
-
Worst Chelsea side I've ever watched. And to think - we are not even two years removed from a CL title.
-
Every team we play feels like we have 2 less players.
-
We look horrible. Maybe this team just isn't that good and no manager can fix it. Fofana, Enzo, James, Chilly, Felix, Sterling... these are all national team, top tier players... yet we can't even play good football... What is the actual deal?
-
Just strangled for space... Seriously... what is it with these players? Is it skill or simply speed of game?
-
We just never seem to have space or time on the ball. This team is so slow. I don't know what else it could be... Need a whole mindset shift.
-
You wanted time for a permanent manager to be instated - so give it time. Getting Lamps in to motivate in the time being and light a fire is the best thing for now.
-
I actually like this for the rest of the season. The players need someone who will explain to them how privileged they are to play here and what it means to be a Chelsea player. Our players don't lack skill. They lack heart and grit. Getting a legend in to tell you that you're a spoilt sack of shit and playing like one might be what lights a fire.
-
The reality is - even we as fans don't have a clear vision of who we want as a manager. So - it would probably be right to not bitch and moan if we do get the appointment wrong this time around. I'm mindful of getting someone like JN, because being so young - I think our group of brats will take the piss. Enrique doesn't instil confidence based on results outside of Barca. Poch to me... seems like the best bet. Managing the Spurs and all they have going on is a kettle of fish in itself. I think at a team like Chelsea - he could thrive. Getting that team to the CL final was something in itself.
-
Mudryk is a super talent who needs a manager to get him in line. He is lacking discipline and sulking a bit - but I think it is because he is young and impressionable based on some of the personalities already causing drama in the locker room. He was coming into the team from off season as well. He has all the talent in the world. He will eventually get it. About as sure fire a star as there is.
