Exactly right. That goes for on the pitch and off it on the sideline. I wasn't in favour of swapping managers again for continuity sake, but there is no point when this one isn't doing anything good for our team.
-
Neto is a hell of a player. I'd take him here.
-
Chuku for Gallagher please.
-
Are Gallagher and Enzo told to just not assist Caceido at all? There is so much space between him and everyone. Gallagher is shocking for it.
-
3 players on him that play, at least it wasn't 6 like it was a few times in the Liverpool game.
-
He should have done better but look at where his teammates are when he receives that ball.
-
Poch really wastes Caceido by isolating him. Look at what this guy can do when players make runs around him and he is put in places to succeed.
-
I unlike some thought Chris and Kovacic were good enough to be rotational players. Can be filled by numerous players of similar quality IMO. My point is not around that at all. It actually stems exactly to what your last sentence talks around. It is a Poch and team culture issue. Tactics and culture. Havertz, Mount and Werner all overperformed, and I'm grateful for it - but that is what I am getting at. We aren't in a bad position at all in terms of talent and players. Defensively I think we are - but are midfield and front 3 is good - but being coached terribly. Being an inspired team, going on a great cup run is something that can lift a team and make them play beyond their capabilities. Tuchel was a great short term solution in that regard. Much like how we were first in the season, then dropped off and finished 10th or whatever the fuck it was. We didn't suddenly become shit. There is a stink that is still hanging around, and a coach that clearly hasn't gotten through and inspired the players the way we thought he might. Caceido and Enzo are world class. Every stat pointed towards that. Their performance pointed toward that. And now I see them being stranded on islands against - playing 1 vs 5 in the middle of the park with no outlets or runners. Every midfielder in existence would look terrible. Have we made some subpar buys? Yes. But our core of talent is better now than it was with that 2021 CL team and 4 years before. A spark and continuity is all this team would need. A coach who will inspire.
-
I see a side devoid of tactical understanding - not talent. Talent is there. Yes, we are better. Take a look at the 2021 CL winning side. We have Silva, Chilly, James from the CL team at the back. Missing Rudiger and Azpi. I think our backline isn't anywhere near as good. We have Caceido and Enzo in the middle of the park. Neither are as good as Kante (who is?) but both are better and more dynamic than Jorgi. Havertz, Werner and Mount were our front 3... You can tell me what you want, but I'd take Palmer, Nkunku/Jackson and Sterling over those 3 as far as talents. Aside from our defence - our team from the middle of the park up, is more talented. These guys are either dumb as bricks tactically, aren't being taught well, or there is a culture issue.

We aren't in a financial crisis. Clickbait nonsense to have something to talk about. The club knows money. You can slander the ownership all you want, but they know money management. I'm actually not worried about the club long term, but it is frustrating with our stretch of wins/losses now compared to us at our top. A lot of us aren't used to not winning anything. We are spoilt and haven't had a proper build in a while. I hardly think this is current managements fault anyway. Our 4-5 windows before them coming on board were horrific and the start of our decline. Talent wise, signing wise, etc - we are way ahead now of where we were 3-4 seasons ago.
-
You guys put too much blame on Caceido and Enzo. They are being isolated and Poch's system is dogwater. No midfielder would play well. Conor just looks like it because he is a pocket rocket and wastes the ball. I'm all for Poch out. He doesn't know what to do with the pieces he has. Our wingers need to be scrapped, but we have the pieces aside from that. A striker and some wingers and we should be good.
-
If Diaz went down like that, its a penalty. Because its a player in blue, nothing. His arm and thigh hit him. End of. Penalty.
-
I wasn't super keen on the Osimhen rumours or potential of coming here, but then I watched this video and kind of changed my mind... He is relentless and keeps pressing... insane speed. Has a lot of asshole to his playstyle like Diego Costa which I like. Just goes forward at his own beat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxr8TTrD6Ko&t=210s

He has been below average in everything everyone here bangs on about, bar one season which is now. And we are getting like he is the bees knees now? Before this season no one had heard of him. Now he is better than anyone we have. He is 27, playing in one of the easiest leagues out for strikers. Can't remember the last time a striker came from Germany bar Haaland and actually did a decent job.
-
Commentator after one quick view from a shitty angle - "looks like he got all ball" Then when they show an actual slow down view - he gets none of the ball. If you're going to be in that job, don't be a biased cunt. Why call he got all ball when you didn't see shit like the rest of us. Wait for the other angle. Obvious pen.
-
Zirkzee and David would be half that. David could be gotten on the cheaper side given how poor his team is and in turn created nothing for him to finish this season.
-
Both are middle of the pack.
-
There is a really good forward in Roma who is out scoring Osimhen. We should get him!!
-
All that and no end production. Conor has been a lot better than last season, and I think he has caught a lot of us off guard. Saying that though, my mates who are fans of other teams have not been impressed by him. I remember a game where a lot of people here thought he was our best player, the Newcastle game we won I believe - and my mate a Newcastle fan came away saying Conor was horrid. The more I sit down and watch, you realise how he doesn't have the necessary skills to be playing where he is. He is an energy machine who drifts out of position, gets in areas he isn't helpful and gets a lot of touches that look good on paper. He really should be playing as a backup to Caicedo.
-
The decline and fall off is quick at a certain age. Kind of like how people keep saying Djokovic will keep winning for 3-4 years. I just laugh. Age comes thick and fast for athletes after a certain point. You can be winning one day, then 3 months later you're losing all the games you "should" have won. I haven't seen Benz play recently, but he very well could be a shell of his usual self.
-
This guy looks immense. Would love him here. Strong, can hold it up, but has enough pace to really worry defenders. He'd be a tough guard for anyone in the EPL. Looks like he plays like a bull.
-
Mudryk and Madueke would be in the running for Balon D'or if in Serie A. 7 goals for Pulisic in 1781 minutes vs 4 for Mudryk in 975. Maduake has 3 in 430 mins.
-
The more I watch, the more I realise Gallagher is the issue. He should not play where he does. He should be backup to Caceido. He is an energy player that should be all over the field tackling. In his role now he never plays between the lines properly, and limits Enzo and Caceido. Palmer should really be playing where Conor is.
-
Palmer needs to play where Conor starts off. We need to stop playing Levi at LB. Thiago needs to be eased out. He plays too slow. I think a lot of our problems are from Poch refusing to play natural fullbacks.
-
Caceido, Palmer and Enzo were our best players. Gallagher isn't suited to the role he is in, and Broja should not play. Move onto Washington in limited minutes - and sell Broja.
