My days, people here were taking all those gossip transfer rumors like they were divine words sent by god. It amazes me how people pick and choose which gossip footy stories they wish to believe though. Good on Hazard for giving that interview. He's in a rut right now, but he'll come out of this a better player no doubt. Think people are spoiled by the inhumane consistency of Messi and Ronaldo Scoring/Assisting in 50 goals a season.

I mentioned the same thing in the Courtois thread too. But I disagree with your last sentence. He was given that freedom to organize the defense at Atletico Madrid, and what happened? They won the league and got to a UCL Final. Now, obviously that team has better defenders than us, but it shows that if we get capable defenders, or our current ones perform up to their best standard, Courtois can get the best out of them, by positioning them where he wants them to be. It's more a manager thing also. JM would never allows Courtois to command JT, it just won't happen. I have the belief that after JT leaves, Courtois will be given that role of organizing the defense to his liking.

Played very well, and he's very solid on the ball with both feet.

Thibo also doesn't organize the defense. I remember him saying something to that affect when he returned, that JT commands the defense, and that at Atletico Madrid he was given the license to organize the back-line to his liking. Until JT hangs them up, no gk will have dominant say in the way they organize the defense. Not that I particularly care that much either way.
