  1. Erm .... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/9128536/transfer-news-juan-mata-misses-training-as-manchester-united-transfer-talk-intensifies
  2. He didn't train today. Can only see this going one way. Selling to Man Utd as well, it could have been anyone else! Mata needs to play as its a world cup year, I'll have nothing against him if he leaves.
  3. Really good points being brought up, particularly about the strikers having to create. Ramires has played so many minutes this year, a point I think a lot of people have not noticed. I think rammy adds a lot to the team and he is my favorite player but people need to realise that there are other options apart from a straight Mata/Oscar switch and by this I mean Oscar playing deeper and a system in which the two can play.
  4. I agree that he won't leave until the summer at least. When you say a back-up striker do you think its not impossible to keep Torres, Lukaku and bring in a big signing and get rid of this notion of a back-up? I think people on this forum think they has to be some hierarchy. Well yes they should be some but it is possible to have 2 or even 3 world class strikers in the ranks, there does not have to be one shit one if that makes sense.
  5. I didnt actually see it, I will try and find it on the internet. About the Luiz striker thing I remember this season at Newcastle away Jose sent Ivanovic up near the end to try win flick on and just be a presence in general, what with Torres going off as well. He has always been one for stuff like that. On the Sky Sports commentary Neville actually said that Jones is a CB outright, not a CDM. With Luiz he is unquestionably better in the CDM role than Jones. Its a great option for us to have, even now that Matic has arrived.
  6. Its Ba's chance. Particularly with the FA Cup being the next match, he could even have a starting spot.
  7. Its a good point. I think not all CFC fans realise how good he actually is though.
  8. Willian never gets the praise he deserves. On Sky Sports website this morning they were banging on about how he has found it hard to settle in and that he is not scoring enough goals. Willian's work rate is just as good as anyone else's but he doesn't get recognised for some reason, particularity by TV pundits.
  9. It does make a notable difference this "Real ball physics" especially with this "Pure Shot". Shooting has completely changed, the ball will swerve and dip and it just makes for a more realistic experience. Aside from the shooting though, I havent noticed much difference with ball movements.
  10. I agree with you on the coupling with defensive partners causing issues but I think this is resolved now. Also lets not forget the media are basically begging for JT to play for England again? he is once again leading this team.
  11. You could be right. From the outside bertrand doesn't seem that type of guy but thats from the outside. If he does leave it should be to a decent team. Just need to see what happens with Shaw now.
  12. When he has been given the chance he has looked solid. Lets not forget he started the Champions League Final? The kid has talent. Granted, not as much as Shaw but still. I feel sorry for him under Jose, although Azpil has been class even at LB, why wasnt Bertrand even thought about, obviously Jose doesn't rate him and who am I to argue with him lol.
  13. I agree about Luiz. You only need to see the player influence map to see what he can do in CDM. In all honesty I haven't seen much of Matic but from what I have read on here he seems to fit the bill. Would I would have him in my starting lineup half a week after joinging? certainly not over ramires. I have never really thought of rammy as an impact player, why would you when he can do it at the same intensity for 90 mins.
  14. Ramires has play so much PL football this season, can't see him not been in the team. A game like this is made for him. He will press for 90 mins.
  15. Don't get me wrong, I hate Piers Morgan. But to face Lee (90mph bowler) does take an exceptional amount of balls, the pictures of his bruises after shows that. I actually think its quite bad on Lee's part actually trying to bouncer him every ball but one. But yer, I got a lot of satisfaction from watching this video!
  16. Ok mate. I just think big games, like the one against Utd, Torres is our best bet. I will be disappointing if he isnt in the starting line up.
  17. In Jose's team if he didn't work hard, particularity in defence, he simply wouldn't play. There are always games were players seem to disappear, he is not alone in this category.
  18. Don't get me wrong mate, I completely see your viewpoint. My reply above (the one you originally quoted) was aimed at a guy saying we should sell them, and meaning NOW as in January. We cant buy a class striker in January by the looks of it, or bring back Lukaku, so yes we have to keep him and the others at least until summer. Also the 175k/week thing is obviously a lot of money, i do not deny that, but on the other hand how much commercial money does Torres bring into the club? Plastic fans in asia and america for example, what name do they get on the back of the shirt? I aren't suggesting it brings in Torres wages back into the club, but it is a point worth making.
  19. Ok fair point, but all of our strikers are ineffective, so are we going to get rid of them all? He hasn't got a big, distributive ego has he? He isnt a problem in the dressing room?
  20. I hear you! There is a big difference between criticising players and just been stupid, he can fuck off support Man Utd. His opinion has no substance what so ever. I just love the fact that Torres whenever he plays, especially in the big games, he has attitude and a real determination to win, and to win for CFC.
  21. To single out Torres as oppose to any of our other strikers is a bit rash. In comparison to Eto'o, Torres is a world class striker. You can't expect Torres or any of our strikers to score as much as say Suarez for instance. He carries liverpool. Torres is a player who likes running onto the ball, playing into space. Chelsea in all honesty play in an opposite way to which Torres likes. Like he admitted in an interview, he is the one who has to adapt and I agree that he has had long enough to do this. There are so many reasons for the club (both on field and off field) as to why Torres is important.
  22. We should do everything we can to keep hold of Mata as even though we have a lot of similar attacking players, with a few injuries that could all change. No one in Jose's team is irreplaceable and Juan Mata at this moment doesnt add as much to the team as say a Oscar or Willian (who is in fine form at the moment). But to suggest he should leave the club is foolish. We should only let this happen when like KDB for example, he wants to leave.
  23. Were not playing on FIFA here, to play 3-5-2 would be suicidal
  24. We have brilliant attacking talent, but this doesn't mean they can/have to play at once. In modern day football 2 CDM is essential and with Mikel hitting form and Lampard adjusting to that role last season it seems logical to play them again! The team for me would be: In the 4-2-3-1 Torres Hazard-Mata-Ramires Lampard-Mikel Cole-Terry-Cahill-Ivanovic Cech
  25. Pre-season is useful for the team to bond and from the information coming out of the camp that is happening. It isn't completely over yet and although we lost two games in America it not time to become drastic. I mean people claiming we need so many MORE new players is stupid, we have the squad, give it time and we will be ready!
