  1. Don't really care about the font if I'm honest with you, it doesn't make much difference to how we play
  2. Who's playing in the Champions League next season? What team won silverware last season? What team is full of international star players? It certainly isn't Manchester City. I highly suspect that Tevez will want to play Champions League football next season. We might not be able to match the wages Man City offered him, but I reckon we could match those he earned at United, and that would be enough to sign him, I'd reckon.
  3. Carragher.... overrated? He's probably one of the most underappreciated players in the Premier League...
  4. Goalkeepers - we already have Cech, who is the world's best goalkeeper. However, I've felt he hasn't been as consistent since Cudicini left, leaving me to assume he isn't being pushed enough by another competitive goalkeeper in training. A young goalkeeper should be brought in for both the future and as cover; Hilario is a great reserve, but he isn't Chelsea first-team standard, and we need to bring in a confident, established young goalkeeper who can fill the void, like Assman, Hart or Neuer. Defenders - the one area of the pitch that needs no cover at all, in my view. At right-back we have both Bosingwa and Ferreira, and they can also cover the left-back position of Ashley Cole if needs be. We also have Ryan Bertrand who can play there, and Michael Mancienne can play in either position. At centre-half we have Alex and Terry, and Ivanovic as cover. Mancienne is a centre-back by trade, and we also have Essien who can fill in during emergencies, as well as Belletti who strictly speaking is a full-back. Midfielders - again, this is an area that needs little or no change. With Joe Cole back to full fitness, we will have two out-and-out wingers in he and Malouda, and Kalou, Stoch and even Anelka can also play out in wide positions. Essien and Belletti have also played out wide when needed, so we have plenty of cover there. Lampard, Ballack, Essien, Belletti and Mikel make up the central midfield positions, and its likely Jack Cork may be called up following strong performances at Championship level. The only real cover we need is that of another winger, in my opinion, and Zhirkov would best fit that bill as he can also operate at left-back. Of course, the cover we currently have may not be entirely adequate but we do have that cover available if injuries become plentiful. Strikers - with Anelka and Drogba finishing the campaign in fine form playing together, it would appear we have found a winning partnership up front. However, both strikers are on the wrong side of 30 and whilst we have di Santo and Kalou who are both young forwards, Kalou's form is spasmodic at best and di Santo is relatively unproven against Premier League opposition. We need a striker who is either proven in the Premier League or at least have the experience of playing regularly in a top European league, such as Tevez and/or Aguero. Then we need to bring in someone like Daniel Sturridge, a young striker, preferably English so we can include them in the "home-grown quota," and therefore include more players in the European squads and so on. Let's not forgot Shevchenko and/or Pizarro may be returning, and Pizarro himself has been in good form for Werder. In conclusion, I believe we need: 1 goalkeeper with first-division experience, preferably someone young and competitive who can challenge Cech for the starting position, ie. Hart or Assman.1 winger/wing-back again with experience of playing at the top level, who is similar to Belletti in the way they can play either in a wing position or a full-back position, ie Zhirkov.2 strikers with European experience; preferably one established first-team regular and the other a younger play who can be grown into a potential star, ie. Tevez/Aguero and Sturridge.
  5. The Season Review is great. Just shows what a great season we had, and how bad November was
  6. Spain won 1-0 against Iraq to book their place in the semi-finals with a game to spare.
  7. Malouda's problem was bad man-management by Scolari and Grant. I don't think its a coincidence he played well under Mourinho and Hiddink.
  8. We're at Old Trafford on my birthday, what a fucker
  9. Me and my dad are on the FA Cup dvd How cool
  10. Shows how much the media made a meal out of it, really
  11. He's a wonderful goalkeeper, no doubt. I rate him very highly, but would he be willing to play second fiddle? I think that he would certainly push Cech in training, since Carlo went I've noticed Petr's performances haven't quite been as good; there has been a lack of real competition for him - although everyone of course has the odd bad game.
  12. I'll join you mate. His workrate alone is exceptional, and he has a really nice habit of scoring important goals. Would be wonderful to have a choice between Tevez, Anelka and Drogba ahead of a match!
  13. What are you favourite songs on it mate? I love Vlad the Impaler and Roll the Dice, personally.
  14. Thanks for reading mate Feel free to add your own comments and ratings for players, this is obviously just showing my personal opinion
  15. Kasabian's new album is a pretty bold statement from the fourpiece from Leicester. After the success of their debut and its 2006 follow up 'Empire,' Kasabian have seen themselves propel from being the next big thing to one of the finest bands of their generation. Led by songwriter and guitarist Sergio Pizzorno and his drug-fuelled rambling lyrics, the band are currently supporting Oasis on their Dig Out Your Soul world tour after finishing a brief tour of the United Kingdom themselves. The album begins with 'Underdog,' a classic Kasabian anthem that focuses on synthesisers and the excessive use of guitar effects. An instant hit with the fans, it echoes 'Club Foot' from the band's eponymous debut album. 'Where Did All The Love Go?' follows; a psychadelic hit that is to be released as a future single. The musical madness that is 'Swarfiga' is the third track on the album, before introducing 'Fast Fuse,' a song featured on FIFA 09 and released as part of an EP in 2008. A fast-tempoed track that features exaggerated vocals in the style of Liam Gallagher by Tom Meighan, 'Fast Fuse' features heavily distorted guitars and a driving bassline and is already a favourite amongst fans of the band. A solid opening quartet is followed by 'Take Aim' and 'Thick as Thieves;' both melancholic tunes that offer a start contrast to the electronica of 'West Ryder/Silver Bullet,' a duet with American singer and actress Rosario Dawson, with an introduction that announces that 'there will be Emus in the zone' as a 'maniac busies himself with his electronic graffiti.' Track 8 is the outrageously brilliant 'Vlad The Impaler,' a groove-inspired song that describes social discrimination. The first single from the album, the song invites us to 'Get loose' and is based around a distorted bassline and drumbeat. The sad 'Ladies and Gentlemen, Roll the Dice' follows, which is possibly the best song on the album, and features a heartfelt vocal performance from Meighan. 'Secret Alphabets' and the wonderful 'Happiness' (which features backing vocals from a gospel choir) sandwich 'Fire,' a song that has been A-Listed by many radio stations, hitting number 3 on the UK Singles Charts, and is established as a firm fan's favourite. The album itself is not too far from being a masterpiece, and arguably one of the best records of the year. If you are a fan of the band's previous albums, you'll be impressed by their ability to maintain yet expand on their typical sound, whilst also catering for fans of other genres with groove-inspired material. A great record for the summer - go and buy it. You won't be disappointed. 4 stars
  16. If we're serious about winning the EPL next season we should consider getting both. Tevez is proved at EPL level and Aguero obviously has the potential to be one of the greatest strikers of his generation - would be a nice little combination to have.
  17. Players develop at different rates, hence the reason he didn't go to the U-19 World Cup. If he didn't have a lot of potential, I doubt Chelsea would have spent so much money on a relatively unheard-of player. Obviously I'm basing this particular argument on assumptions, but I don't see how the club would try and nurture a young player by bringing him up to the first team if he didn't have the potential to go on and be a star for them. I think if he does go on loan we can actually assess how good Franco is, providing he actually gets some gametime. I'm quite optimistic that di Santo can become a massive player for Chelsea, but with Chelsea being a club that demands instant success from managers and instant returns from players, it could be very difficult for him to become a regular in the side, and I therefore have my own reservations about his development. However, learning from Drogba and Anelka will certainly help him progress as a player. Ultimately, we'll just have to wait and see.
