  1. Exactly, its just confidence. The lads aren't used to losing at home, so losing against Liverpool and Arsenal has knocked the morale a bit. A couple of wins in a row and it'll all be right again.
  2. Don't get me wrong, he's great when he's in form, but he's injured almost all the time and his wages are extortionate - we could get someone younger in whose wages would cost less than half.
  3. Fabiano had an excellent season last year, but has struggled for form this season so far. I'm not convinced by him. Arshavin's quality is undoubted, he first came to my attention during Zenit's UEFA Cup run last year and then had a sensational Euro championships as well.
  4. Frank Lampard believes Chelsea have no need to make a January bid for Newcastle striker Michael Owen. Owen, who is out of contract in the summer, has been offered a new deal at St James' Park but has been linked with an exit during the forthcoming transfer window. A number of Premier League clubs have all been credited with an interest in the former Liverpool and Real Madrid star, who has been hampered by injury problems in recent years. And while England team-mate Lampard is well aware of Owen's quality in front of goal, he feels Stamford Bridge boss Luiz Felipe Scolari already has enough striking options at his disposal. Got enough The midfielder told The Sun: "Obviously, it's the manager's decision. Michael's a top player - he showed that with the goal he scored against Portsmouth last week, it was an unbelievable finish, top quality. "If he is fit, which he's struggled with a bit, he's a top, top player. "At the right price, whether it's for us or not, he's going to be a good buy for someone for sure. "But with Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba fit, I'd look at us and say we've got enough." Source: Sky Sports. I doubt Lamps has been talking to the Sun, although I couldn't agree more. Owen at Chelsea? Sod off.
  5. The fact that teams like Roma, Panathinaikos, Sporting Lisbon, Porto and Atletico Madrid could be the sort of opposition we could face in the next round means that the competition is very open this year.
  6. Drogba and Anelka really does appear to be similar to Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen to me - they're the perfect formula, just waiting to be let off the leash together.
  7. I'm pretty confident the home form will improve. Yes, we've dropped a lot of points, but draws at home to United and Spurs, and loses to Liverpool and Arsenal aren't totally horrifying results, they're all decent teams, and you couldn't begrudge West Ham and Newcastle a point after their spirited performances. My point is that we've faced the majority of the better sides as home so far this season, and our next three games at the Bridge are against West Brom, Stoke and Boro, which you would assume would lead to 9 more points - then our record at home would read 6 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses, which is looking a lot more positive.
  8. If Scolari doesn't play them together, then he should leave. He's got two very clinical strikers in Drogba and Anelka and the pair of them would be fantastic together - he's a fool if he doesn't see it in training.
  9. After hearing Ferguson go on about the 'importance of finishing top' to rub it in our faces, to see them face Inter and Liverpool have Real is brilliant Juve are still a good side and shouldn't be underestimated, but they certainly aren't the team of 2006 when they had Buffon, Cannavaro and company
  10. £10 million for Malouda!? I can't even flog for that much on Fifa!
  11. I really don't like La Liga in honesty
  12. Schweingsteiger, but he would come on a free in the summer. And Badboy, Aguero would cost over €100 million. Not really a good option.
  13. True, but the one problem is that he is 30 already - we should go for someone younger, someone like Valbuena.
  14. I don't care if he is West Ham's manager. You just have to bow to his genuine legendary attitude. True hero to any aspiring footballer or coach.
  15. Yakubu, Saha and young James Vaughan are all out for definite - Anichebe is a doubt.
  16. Anyone would think we're 10 points adrift at the foot of the table
  17. He said he would like to return to Brazil, I don't recall him saying he wants to do so for definite, and right at this moment. Media sensationalism. Again.
  18. Essien is the key to everything in our squad. Going forward and defending, he's just got that extra power that means when we are lacking cover at the back, or we need more presence when going forward, he's there to provide it. Ricardo is brilliant at the back and his leadership and organisation is certainly missed. When they're back, we'll stop drawing matches and win them.
  19. Don't blame Kenyon for the Robinho saga, the player even said 'Madrid would not sell me to Chelsea.'
  20. He was, and he would have won the game but for a very good save from Big Pete.
