  1. Frank has to take his fair share of the blame for this. I cannot believe he chose ten players who started on Wednesday in Istanbul. Incredibly naive. Don't even get me started on that defending. Lucky to get a draw here. Yes, we had that blitz of half-chances in the first half, but the only other clear cut chance we made was Kante's shot which was deflected. It's a good job Leicester are absolutely shite in the final third, because a decent team would have put four or five decent through balls behind our defence today. Edit - one more thing: drop Azpilicueta. I don't think I've ever seen a more inept right-back for us.
  2. When I say "nobody really cares", I mean the media, opposition fans, etc., don't really give a shite. Of course I wanted us to win this.
  3. Sorry. KEPA IS SHIT BRING BACK CECH
  4. The funny thing is he's playing in almost exactly the same way he finished last season...
  5. It is disappointing, but win, lose or draw, tonight was about exorcising the demons of Sunday, and we've done that and then some. However, if we don't follow it up on Sunday with a win, heads may roll...
  6. Not trying to sound like Courtois and commenting on goalkeeper's height right now, but I do think that has an element to it. He reads the penalties superbly, you can see he studies the body language of the players in their stance and run-up. I don't think it'll be an issue going forward in the long-term. Remember Cech went four years without saving a penalty in open play between 2005 and 2009 (someone with a better memory than me might dispute this), and he didn't do so bad in big games in the end, did he?
  7. Oh, I'd definitely like someone better starting, let me make it clear. He can be a good squad option, for sure. I liked his no-nonsense approach tonight.
  8. Let's be honest, it's like the Community Shield. Nice if you win it, but nobody really cares.
  9. Going to be brutally honest and assess it from "a keeper's point of view". Origi's was unlucky. He expected a high shot which is why he dived over the ball. It's a case of percentages, and if you look at Origi's body shape it does look as if he is going to go high, across the goalkeeper towards the top half of the net. I can understand why he therefore dived higher, so it's an unfortunate one. If he'd have gone lower and Origi went higher, we'd all be complaining he didn't jump far enough. So - ultimately - no blame attached there. Salah's was saveable. The position of the shot was telegraped, it was very clear which way he was going to go; he also got a very good hand onto the ball. I'm going to be hypercritical and say that I'd expect a goalkeeper as good as him to save that one. So, bottom line - he should have saved the pen, but we can't be too critical because we wouldn't have gotten to penalties without him tonight. He was superb yet again.
  10. I don't think that your comments were nasty. It's all in good humour, we're all Chelsea fans! I think it's harsh to judge Zouma in a Chelsea shirt after that one bad game. Prior to that, I don't think we've seen anything negative from him to be honest, even when Jose used him as an auxiliary CDM against Spurs! He is never going to be a consistent starter for us, but Lampard obviously sees something in him to allow Luiz to go; I think he can be a decent squad player for us. We need to be more conservative in our judgements, I think - no need to get carried away with any great individual performances, but similarly there's no need for us to blame him for Sunday. The good thing is tonight's team performance should have banished the demons from Old Trafford and we can all move on.
  11. He has the largest testicles on the planet with those two penalties.
  12. It's a shame that double save counts for nothing.
  13. The referee gave us absolutely nothing for much of the game, all of the little niggling fouls went their way. Odds were against us but we were fantastic, very proud of the performance.
  14. If I had to choose which player to keep - Kante or Hazard - I'd choose N'Golo every single time.
  15. Really good again tonight. Really good.
  16. Were you born last Saturday by any chance? We've all just watched the lad play a blinder. It's fine if you disagree, but please don't be hasty with your criticisms.
  17. Missed a sitter. Misses a penalty. Not great. But he encouraged me with his hold-up play and let's not forget, he won us our penalty in normal time. Lightning strikes twice - whoever said history doesn't repeat itself. Lukaku missed the last penalty against Bayern in a 5-4 shoot-out defeat after a 2-2 draw.
  18. Absolutely gutted. We were fantastic. I don't have the words to rationalise that. It might only be a glorified friendly but that hurts.
  19. No, defensively. The gaps in behind were humongous.
  20. I do think a lot of people are putting too much faith in, and expectation upon, a young lad who hasn't even played a minute of Premier League football.
  21. The point I am making is that, at times, our midfield didn't know where they were supposed to be playing.
  22. Weirdly, this transfer ban is the best possible thing to ever happen in the Roman era. It actually means we have to use the young players we have at our disposal.
  23. Glad he's gone. If he'd have played on Sunday he'd probably have started an argument with Zouma for conceding the penalty, had a pop at the fans, then ended up getting murdered by Rashford and Martial on the counter before an inevitable red card. He's shown his true colours.
  24. He can't possibly be a 20 goals a season striker with our current squad and style of play. Stick him in City's team and he'd easily do that, because they play with genuine width and stretch the pitch, creating crossing opportunities. We don't play that way, so whilst I accept he has the talent to be a goal-getter, he won't do it at Chelsea. I just wish he'd be given a fair chance because I feel like we're all judging him on a string of substitute performances. The odd game where he started (I'm thinking Brighton away, 2017/18 where we won 4-0 - he didn't score but was the best player on the pitch), he looked fine.
