  1. I'm not sure we can solely put it on Makelele leaving. I'd say the biggest reason we're easier to beat these days is because we don't play boring football anymore.
  2. Agreed. Drogba's having a cheeky feel of Coley's bum as well.
  3. People saying play Luiz at right-back? I love you all! I've been saying that since February
  4. Yury's become a spare part, sadly. If we can get £10 million for him, we've done well.
  5. Don't worry about it LDN - a lot of people don't know the word can be taken offensively.
  6. Superb post my friend! Absolutely true as well when you say the north absolutely dominates the south in terms of representation by clubs.
  7. How can you say that, he's even better looking than Steve
  8. The word 'Yid' is a very controversial one in the English language. Though it is an ethnonym to describe people of a Yiddish (Jewish) background, it is also used as a derogatory epithet by people who have a hatred of Jewish people, and/or a prejudiced dislike of Jews, called anti-Semites. Sometimes however, the word can be 'lost in translation' and its real meaning forgotten in exchange for a more novel connotation. As you may well know, we have a handful of members from Eastern European and Middle-Eastern countries on TalkChelsea - and these people may not know that Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have an association with Yiddish people, and call themselves the 'Yid Army.' I therefore have to stress that the word is used on here to describe Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, and is not at all used in an offensive, derogatory or hurtful manner. At TalkChelsea, we have a zero-tolerance attitude towards racism - anti-Semitism included (click link). As such, I would like to highlight the fact that use of the word 'Yid' on these forums is not at all used offensively, but on behalf of the TalkChelsea staff team and the forum members I do apologise for any offence caused - and I would also like to add a sort of taboo on the word - so, all members, please do not over-use the word 'Yid' and do be considerate of other member's nationalities, religions, classes, creeds and ethnicities. I hope this prevents any future confusion - and I hope the situation is a little clearer to all members; new and old alike. Thanks for reading, KTBFFH! Alex.
  9. I think that's a bit far, eldo Pele was, and remains, one of the greatest footballers of all-time, alongside Maradona and Eusebio.
  10. TBF, I think if we released one - with the calibre of writers on here and the enthusiasm we all have - it would certainly be a good addition to the market.
  11. I hate to say it... but... William Gallas... Odemwingie and Cheik Tiote both honourable mentions.
  12. I find Balotelli very interesting. Very temperamental.
  13. How dare you all insult Bale Most overrated player? £35 million? :541:
  14. Malouda's on fire with this Mohican haircut... I expect a goal from our in-form man this weekend! Gonna stick a cheeky fiver on a draw though
  15. If I could sign one player, who would it be? Yep, you guessed it. It'll never happen though.
  16. I'm wondering how recent this information is? If it is for the 2009/10 financial year (which is most likely), then it'll still include wages for the likes of Ballack, Deco etc.
  17. I do think there is a market for it, and some competition for the CFC-UK fanzine, for instance, would be awesome. TalkChelsea.net fanzine :eyebrows:
  18. As long as he is back for pre-season I have no worries... Mikel is bang in-form and Ramires will be back shortly.
  19. I actually agree on your choice of our 'best' shirt, Henrique. Looked great as a full kit.
  20. Haha cheers mate. I'm only 18 but I study English Language/Literature at A Level and I've always had a fondness for words, so I've really enhanced my writing skills over the last two years or so.
  21. Chelsea have averaged 2.3 goals per game when Frank Lampard has started in the league this season, compared to only 1.4 without him. He hasn't lost it yet.
  22. Remember when Gallas scored in the last minute against Spurs in 2006? I'd take the same this weekend
  23. Haha, cheers mate. I write them all myself! The way I write them has changed massively, I've been writing them for 90% of matches since February 2007.
